It was mentioned in the context of the bed being "disturbed," that's why.

I think it's really important not to assume things we haven't been explicitly told.
I am not assuming anything. I read on one of the threads that a fitted sheet was missing. Missing to me means no where to be found.

"I took it as"
"Missing to me means"

These are your words and clearly these are your interpretations. It MAY mean that the sheet is completely gone from the house, OR another meaning of "missing" is "not where it was supposed to be."

If I came home from work and went into the bedroom and noticed that one side of the bed looked sunken in and the fitted sheet was not on the bed (as LM described her mother's bed), and I couldn't see the sheet somewhere in eyesight (like the floor), I would say to my spouse, "Do you know why the sheet is missing?" And all I would mean by that is, why is it not on the bed where I expect to find it? I would not be assuming the sheet had been thrown out, stolen from, or otherwise taken out of the house.

So I just don't think we should assume that here, until we have a MSM source that says so. Maybe LM will do another interview soon and this exact question will be asked.

We are all obviously free to disagree on anything and everything, but I've followed a lot of cases on these boards and I can tell you that stating things as fact that are really open to interpretation is ultimately how posts start getting deleted/threads shut down. And I don't think any of us want that for Sandra.

LM said the sheet was missing. The fact that she mentioned it, leads me to believe she thought it was important enough to bring it up. We can all make what we want of what was said. The missing sheet may or may not be a clue in this mystery.

Yes, it may or may not be important. It may or may not be missing from the house. Just don't disregard that she brought it up when describing what the disturbed bed looked like (i.e. you would expect to see a fitted sheet on a bed, and if it wasn't there you would probably say it was missing). She's thought the disturbed bed was significant from the beginning as she has talked about this from her earliest interviews.

The missing bottom sheet has bothered me as does matterss off the slats. So with the lights on A/C on and the dog alone with no food or water available.
So many odd details that when you look at them together would say red flag... MOO hope LE knows much more than is available to us.
Still praying for Sandra and family

I agree Luckyzmom, all those things add up to a red flag.

Luckyzmom, Every little tidbit of information that gets mentioned (like the missing fitted sheet) may mean nothing by itself but collectively it could be a clue as to what might have taken place in that house. I guess you probably know that already.

Just thinking about Sandra and her family and praying that there will be some answers soon. One day would be too long to have a loved one missing, so I can only imagine what they are going through after a year with no news.

Very sad to see there have been no updates. I am convinced I saw her in my area in August 2019. I did report a potential sighting of her, but nobody ever got back to me after the initial email. I'm convinced I saw her. This is the first and only email I ever received after contacting them.

What area did you think she was in? Still local to Hanson or farther afield?

Just hearing about this case now....

I have some questions:

Suicide. If that was the intent, at a minimum, I'd think she'd overfeed and overwater her dog.... knowing he'd be alone until the daycare dropoff on Friday. But then, Savannah left her beloved pet home, when she set out to commit suicide (allegedly)

No car. Did another CUSTOMER at the car shop notice her? Follow her home? Firsthand knowledge, no car, no housemates. Might even know no cell phone, a detail easily overheard and a topic that could casually arise while filling out paper work at the car place.

Lights on. Door open. Purse gone. Was it DARK OUT when she left?

Smoker. Purse and shoes missing. Dog home. Did she leave to get cigarettes? Was there a convenience store within walking distance? If she left of her own volition, it feels like she intended to be gone most briefly.

Then again, is it possible she walked away from her life? With her shoes, her purse, maybe some stashed cash? Returned to an old life or created a new one?

The mattress and fitted sheet. What might she have kept between her mattresses? Weapon, money, pain medications? If so, did she retrieve it? Or someone else? Pretty specific place for a stranger to look, especially if no other household locations were rifled. Was the sheet used somehow as a wrap for whatever may have been secreted between the mattresses?

Her clothing. Says missing in "her last known clothing" yes? From the Wednesday?

No cell phone, no Internets. Seems like an online angle is completely out. No stalker, no online lover, no secret beau.... unless someone from her past. But no phone history of such a thing so doubtful IMO.

Likewise meeting up with a friend, current or former seems unlikely. Not without phone communication and confirmation.

That leaves, IMO, a random attack, by someone who may inadvertently discovered she'd be home alone, with no car, and no cellphone.

Or a crime of opportunity, if she left her own accord and was abducted from the road.

Praying this case gets some media traction, resulting in really strong tips, so Sandra can be brought home and her children and grandchildren can have answers.

West Warwick, Rhode Island. I am almost positive it was her. It was at a local place that gives free/cheap food for those in need.

Interesting. I hope they thoroughly checked out your tip. Correct me if I'm wrong but you only know Sandra through news about her disappearance, correct? She's technically a stranger to you? If so, maybe that's the reason they haven't contacted you for more info or to update you on what they found.

Just to answer one of your questions...about the car repair shop. Sandra wasn't there alone, she was with her son in law and from things her daughter has said in interviews, he did all the talking and arranged everything to do with the repair. The mechanic was very well known to the daughter and son in law. So while anything and everything could have been overheard, I'm just not sure how much Sandra was involved or if she might have spent her time at the repair shop mainly watching the kids while her son in law handed over the keys and negotiated what should be done to the car. Anyway, nothing about her appearance at the shop that day would have led a stranger to assume she was a woman on her own. Instead she would have looked like someone with family members very actively involved in her life.

It is thought that she disappeared wearing the clothes and shoes from Wednesday. That coupled with the lights being on led many to think she disappeared at night.

She did have a house phone for communication. It seems the phone records have been looked into. We've heard about the last outgoing call but nothing about the incoming ones.

For me personally, a stranger attack is probably lowest on my list of possibilities. IMO there are things about Sandra's disappearance that are not being said and I've seen hints of it coming out here and there over the last year. As I've said before, even if there's a desire to keep some things private I hope the police are working with the full story.

Agree there seems to be Family dynamics at play that we aren't aware of. Their privacy is being protected that is their right.
When you appeal to the public for assistance searching and gathering clues, some of that privacy is lost. Is this too high a price to find out Sandra's whereabouts ? Or does someone know .....
Someone knows something and no one is coming forward.....
Prayers for Sandra and family and friends. Please contact LE so she can come home MOO

Well said, @Luckyzmom. There is much unsaid to this sad situation, some parts may be germane to Sandra's disappearance and other parts may be a big distraction.

I'm reminded of the Tolstoy quote about "all happy families." MOO
