Nearly a decade after the first human skull was found in Westport, another skull washed up on Cherry & Webb Beach on May 26, 2019.

A woman told Westport police that she was walking the shoreline with her daughter, when they noticed a skull right where the waves reached the beach.

The skull was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office, but that didn’t provide many answers.

“The information there is vaguer in terms of trying to connect it to a male or female, the ages,” Quinn said.

Researchers still haven’t been able to determine an age, sex, race, or estimation of when the person may have died.

A DNA profile has been created and uploaded to CODIS, but no identification has been made.

The case is now being reviewed to determine whether researchers can learn more about the victim through genetic genealogy.
