Madeleine McCann 3 year old missing in Portugal - Part 2

It might not seem very descriptive to us but if you live there and someone you know that fits this description is suddenly not coming to work or school or acting strange it may be the one little tip that blows things wide open.

I'm praying so hard for this little girl. It's so sad that this didn't need to even happen.


I've had people say I'm anal ( ok maybe just my in-laws) because I still drive my ten year old daughter to school and she doesn't have sleepovers at just any new friends house. I hope the pubilcity from this will wake up some parents who just don't get it that the unthinkable CAN happen and children need to be cared for.

Jubie, my husband tells me I am anal as well. We live in a town of 1,200 people and he just does not believe that it can happen here. I remind him, what about Morgan Nick in Alma, Arkansas. It is smaller and more rural than our town. If it can happen there, it can happen anywhere. And I might add, she has never been found, not even a trace of her.

Have you seen this??? these people are sick....I'm saying demented. They didn't even break down and cry, they even cracked smiles??? how is this possible??? they're going to "travel around europe" what the hell is this BS?? My wife and I would permanently MOVE to the town where this happened and NOT leave until some conclusion...some outcome either way was reached. We wouldn't go see paris....we wouldn't go on a condola ride in Rome????? Now I am truly FURIOUS with these two fools. Can you say mental illness here folks??? I would be clutching my remaning babies....where are they??? in the room alone????

Set-up shop in the Portugal town......how could they think of doing anything else??? Travelling around Europe....are they NUTS??? My life would be over....and they sound like they're already over it and moved on??? bloody wild!!! I'm not able right now to view the video, can you tell me a bit more.... did they really say they were going to Paris for a nice time or are they trying to find their daughter and spread the word? I can honestly say I'd liquidate as much $ as possible and yeah maybe even travel around begging different cities to get more publicity.... I'd lose my mind first but then I know I'd have to DO something.

I think they need to figure out WHY Maddie, of the three children in that apartment and the other's alone in the neighboring apartments. The perp even went to far as to take her from BETWEEN her siblings. The adults all went as a group to dinner and would take turns going back, not going in, but listening if any of the kids were crying. The timeline should start hours earlier. I would want any of the adults that went back checked and rechecked. Why aren't questions being asked about those people??

When I watched the video I did not in anyway shape or from get the impression they were going taveling as a pleasure trip. Their going taveling was about looking for Madeleine and bringing awarness to other parts of the world. They probably feel they need to get moving and do SOMETHING instead of sitting still waiting on word that thus far as not come.

I am absolutely appalled that any parent could leave 3 young children alone... I don't give a fig for their rationalization or excuses. To me, these parents are the lowest of slime. I have no sympathy for THEM at all.

All my hopes and prayers go out to that this little girl that she is found safe... but I dread that she would be going back to these creeps.

This is a horrible crime and I don't mean to minimize it one bit, but I wonder why this is getting so much media attention. Aren't children kidnapped every day from every country? Why is this one so special? I'm just curious.

For starters, she is a beautiful, white, wealthy, and endearing child. Her parents are most assuredly status symbols in Europe. Frankly, Madeleine sells papers and newstories on the air.

Journalism has become something I am not proud of anymore. It used to be virtuous to be a true Journalist and now it is about big money. Ratings, sales, and the price for photos has taken over the morality and the objective eye. Greed captilizes upon grief.

The way they try to minimize their blame in this matter is less than responsible. Dinner in your garden! How many people have dinner in their garden at least 100 yards away from the children's bedroom? That is such a ludicrous remark!

They were naive? I don't think too many people get out of med school and internship in a "naive" state. I don't think any woman who has been working in an emergency room for years is "naive" about anything. Kate may be as skinny as a schoolgirl, but she is not as "naive" as one.

I don't know and can't imagine what her idea of "love" is. Mothers who love their young children do not leave them alone for even a moment unless another responsible caregiver is there. And especially not for dinner and drinks.

Kate's excuses do not wash with me!

What a load of codswallop, they said they didnt think there daughter was kidnapped, then why did the mother return and said "THEY have taken her".
Too many inconsistencies in this story.

It really is and I was an early defender. I'm seeing the bigger picture now though I believe. Their behavior was their lifestyle. I think they usually had nannies and babysitters, but they also left them alone a lot. I read a quote today how the Mom said Maddie always wanted to go running with them, but they would tell her "No". So, I'm thinking, whom was she with when they did do that (which was often by the looks of things)? And the garden comments. WTF. I can't relate anymore, because I would never, could never, take the risks they did, without a thought. My God. This wasn't the first time. They had been doing this that whole week - putting the kids to bed and going out with the adults.

To have other people too so called checking on the kids, that entire week (just listening for crying) after 7:30, people you know how well??? Who were the other's checking on the kids the parents referred to? Why aren't we hearing about those relationships and whom they are?? Why aren't they out in the public defending the parents or talking of Maddie? Did the McCann's just meet these other couples/families that week? WHY WERE WE SNOWED INTO BELIEVEING IT WAS THE MCCANN'S SPECIFICALLY CHECKING EACH HALF-HOUR??

And, teenagers see everything, there's no teens hanging around the pool at the resort or in town - at 9:00 - 10pm?? I don't get it. I bet there were, because what happened to Maddie happened a crucial amount of time earlier.

I would find it interesting to see how the McCanns would deal with a real toddler temper tantrum. A child that won't go to sleep so they could go out. I don't really see them coping all that well. And Maddie is described as a take charge child, fearless and the center of attention. I don't see her liking being left behind. A child like that can hang on a long time and 7:30 is a wee bit early for an almost 4 year old on vacation. They were already called back to the apartment once that week because one of the children was crying, yet they did it again? Unreal. Had they finally had ENOUGH this night?

By the looks of the apartment, I don't see the need to go out anyway. It was as big as some people's homes.

The poor children of these idiots. And they say they recieved thousands of "support" emails/letters from people who would've done the same thing??? What, leave the small little helpless kids ALONE....then they are losers too. And your home is your HOME....the front door is locked, only the family has keys....so if you're on another floor, down the hall, in the garden you can at least HEAR someone breaking in right, HEAR the children if they call out in fear. It's NOT the same at all, dining out....partying and getting drunk while the kids are alone. What got me was that they were so flippant in the interview.....sort of smug almost. "Oh, we'll travel around Europe for a bit"??? that is absurd.....crazy. I'd set up permanent residence in the Portugeuse town.....I wouldn't dream of being anywhere else in the world. I'd be there till I had a 50 foot beard. Going travelling, that shows they're SCUM.

This is all their fault.....poor little girl, it's not her fault she was born to idiot parents!!!

These are the sort of parents who don't even know their own kids. They probably have a nanny or 2 back home, a maid etc. They admitted to shlepping off the kids to the "babysitting" "kids club" BS thru the day and they abandon the kids at night to go out partying??? too much??? Why even bring them along??? As a status symbol...."oh, look at all our kids that we never take care of". And they most likely did just meet these OTHER people. One of them could easily abuse poor Madeleine and maybe she threatened to tell....so she vanished? And I too feel they know more than they're saying??? weird stuff

I have to agree with most of the other posters, something is wrong here!

Watching their body language -- their arms touch down the arm rests of the chair, with Kate's body moved away from Gerry's and Gerry's head tilted away. And then Kate's is clenching her mouth almost the entire time and breathing quite heavily is seems. She appears to be very angry. But it looks like her anger is directed at Gerry. I'm willing to bet they had some kind of an argument right before the taping.......

And then she says she can't bear to leave Portugal without Maddie, but they will do a "bit" of travelling around Europe....... what is that? I realize travelling around Europe is almost like travelling around your home state in the US, but still, she can't think about going home, but she can think about visiting other countries?

And can anyone explain the need for the lawyers? I understood it when they said they needed them to handle all the money that was being donated, but now it appears that the lawyers were called in, even before all the reward money became available. Why do you need lawyers to find your missing child? What is it about English law that is so different from US law, that you would call a lawyer when your child went missing?

And isn't reward money used to pay the person who finds or directly contributes to the finding of the missing person? How is it being used here to allow these parents to take extended leaves from their jobs and even consider quitting their jobs? Apparently, they are receiving some portion of the "reward" money to conduct the search?

I don't have a problem with that per se, I know it is expensive and Lord knows, if my child went missing I would be ever so grateful if there was money to support me and my family so that all we had to worry about was finding our missing child. But isn't this really unusual?

I watched the video. 2 things came to mind. #1, They reminded me of John and Patsy Ramsey when they did interviews about Jon Benet. :liar:
#2, they were 2 darn unemotional. If my little 4 year old was missing , I would be screaming into the microphone for someone, anyone ,to come forward with information. You could bet the Bentley that I'd shed a tear or 2.
