Our lawyer friend on earlier posts said that people go to lawyers for other advice not of a legal matter, wouldnt you go to the police, investigators, doctor if you are distraught over the loss of your child, a lawyer wouldnt even come into my thinking if one of my children went missing.

Another thing that is raising my suspicion - why stay in Portugal? If you are going to travel Europe - why not base yourself in Britain? The way they appear to be 'freeloading' off the back of this tradegy is the thing that discusts me......seems that Mark Warner are being generous according to the fathers 'blog' on the official site:-

Today Kate and I went to the Shrine at Fatima to pray for Madeleine´s safe return. It was another early start leaving at 6.30am. Mark Warner, who have looked after us so well, laid on a car and driver.........

no wonder they dont want to come back.

I would hope that the Portugese Police have checked the alibis of all concerned - including the parents and the party they were travelling with - has there been any links to that?

McCann is acting like an international rock star, going on tour. These are not the words and actions of an innocent man. Was he the parent who whacked Maddie when she wouldn't settle down, so they could go out with friends? Did she hit her head hard on something in the room and expire? So many holes in his story. And his braggadoccio is appalling!

Mr and Mrs McCann have received two offers of private jets to use at their disposal. One is thought to have been offered by the multi-million pound British tycoon Philip Green.
But the couple are very conscious of appearing to be enjoying a luxury lifestyle and may only use the jet because it is the most practical option.
They hope to make day trips, leaving twins Sean and Amelie in the care of relatives, but may have to stay overnight in some places.
Other destinations being considered include Madrid, Seville, Berlin and Amsterdam. Cardinal Murphy O'Connor, the head of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, has spoken to Mr McCann and will help the family to meet the Pope as soon as possible.

i cant blame you. we all know bad things can happen even if you do every thing right. i know it drives me nuts when people neglect their kids when i worry non stop about how to keep mine safe. if you are going to go all out for a cause you believe in you could not have picked a better 1.

Tomorrow will be a family day. We are doing a photo-shoot with the twins for the Sunday newspapers in the morning but will involve stuff that we want to do with them anyway. We also need to recharge our batteries after what has been a very busy week.

It was published in todays Sunday Mirror - the accompanying article was written by Lori Campbell - the reporter who 'shopped' Murat to the police.

And now 'An audience with the Pope'.

This has all been too much for me today- there's something about this whole thing that stinks IMHO.

This is a circus, cant believe what I have been reading,these parents have no consience or worst still no feelings.

I think the bottom line here with these parents is, they are incredibly self-centered. It was the selfishness that led to Maddie's disappearance, with their partying and eating with the adults being more important than the safety and welfare of their children, and now the way they are using this tragedy to travel and promote themselves is shameless. And I just cannot believe that they are doing frickin' photo-shoots with their remaining children!!! My GOD!!!!
If one of my children had been kidnapped, I'd have the other two young kids completely AWAY from the media and in total protective custody. :banghead:

I can't help but wonder a little if they had children to be their ACCESSORIES...you know...like a cool purse or outfit...

I just went back through and read most of the discussion on Ricky Holland. It broke my heart. I see a lot of similarities with this case. The parents asking for their child back, (however, that mom actually cried tears, but they didn't mean a *?!* thing), brief interviews and than all of a sudden they declared no more interviews. Didn't the dad here just come out and say there would be no more interviews because this is an on-going investigation? I thought I saw that in a link, but it could be old if they made the Sunday paper today.

I really think we are going to find that the parents are responsible here. That all this searching, worrying and praying are for naught. I hate to say this and feel like some kind of traitor, but I honestly believe they are responsible for more than just leaving those babies alone.

If it is found that they are not responsible, I will donate 20 hours of service to to the first person who names a charity.

I do not understand the trip to see the Pop at this time, unless they are religious and are going for a blessing for Madeline, which does not seem likely.
I do not think they did something to her I think they are guilty of being - way to lax.
What if they are working internationaly to find her? I hope they are not going for tea.

I understand your view, I have similar concern; While the exposure of these twins may seem unsafe, and I can only hope that they can protect these children, even if they are in the public eye.
I THINK that a search for Madeline is going to be very expensive, cross countries and maybe unaffordable, a photo shoot does render high figures and it may be a vehicle to finance a search.

Photoshoot with the twins...:banghead: a photoshoot to put more images of them (the twins) in the media. This is as crazy as when they posted their daily schedule, down to the exact hour of what they do and the place they and the twins will be at. Do they not understand that this kind of stuff could compromise their remaining children's safety?!?!?!?!?! Logic usually dictates that when a child goes missing, mom & dad pull in ranks around their other kids to protect them... not go on photoshoots exposing their other children, and announce to the world their and their kids every move.

Something is really strange about this whole thing... I can't put my finger on it... but it is. Has there been any direct evidence that the little girl was even abducted?
