This is interesting. I was searching through the internet tonight looking for blogs on Madeleine to figure out what the general attitude is towards the parents, and I came across this article that was written a week after she went missing. It's in Swedish, but I found a rough translator on the net.

http://www.aftonbladet.se/vss/nyheter/story/0,2789,1065828,00.html

I guess the gist of the article states that the Portuguese police found a pajama top within a few days of Madeleine's disappearance and thought it might be hers. It isn't, but the article goes on to refute the accusations the family made against LE saying they didn't take claims of an abduction seriously and didn't put out her picture or close roads fast enough. If anyone here speaks Swedish, maybe you can give a better translation.

Oh and btw, we have the best forum in the world. WS is the only place I found that isn't fawning all over the parents, restricting what can be said about Madeleine's disappearance or allowing posters to get down and dirty with each other.

Noto Bono- changes to page include number of visitor counter is no longer there, more typos (note double letters in words)

:silenced:
You would expect a professional would be able to spell and write a simple paragraph, a grade three school kid could do a better job than he did....I cant bring myself to say his name.

I agree CaliKid that this is the best forum I have ever been on, but again the people who post here a great too, they are sensible and not out to cause friction between posters, on this thread there have been a lot of different opinions, some we agree with and some we dont, thats what makes this a great forum we can say what we think without offending others, everyone is entitled to their opinion and we all respect that.
This case is a very emotional one for all us posters here, but we work together to try and make sense of what happened to Madelaine. Keep up the good work guys.

The first word he ever mispelled in his blog was his daughter's Madeleine's
name.

After some posted about this, our Aussie Mike:woohoo: and others.
Mr McCaan has begun to make numerous type-o's with double letters--

Curious isn't it??????

Very curious, is he cracking up or scared that he might be found out he was somehow involved, to me he looks and sounds very nervous about something.

Or is it staged, part of those closed door meetings--???
*Ok folks, need to make more typo's to show Madeleine's isn't the only mistake--throw in a few exta letters and mistakes here and there*

:crazy: Now I have to add- that my typing and English is very far from perfect!! But this is the WEBSITE with a team of PR and media folks behind it. :eek:Note under the website link--who is responsible for what. This is a company-business formed under UK regulations with a board of directors, annual reports, etc. They are incorporated.

I guess someone found a pair of pj boxers with small flowers on them, that were ruled out as being Madeleine's.
There is a paragraph in the article that says (paraphrasing) that the parents have been criticized by many for leaving the children alone while they ate at a restaurant with friends. And that it was not the first time that they did so. And that KM found Madeleine missing (according to KM herself) when she went to check on them at 10 pm.
And also the part you brought up about the parents saying the police should have done more- with closing borders, etc.

Good find Cali--:blowkiss: Haven't seen anything in Swedish or Norwegian papers since after the first two weeks.

Why would he need to attend all the meetings anyway if you hire a PR company you hire them to do a job because they are professional in that area, what does GM know about PR, he should let them get on with the job they are hired for and stay with his wife and other children as I wouldnt want to be seperated from the rest of my family if one of them was missing. All these little oddities just make the parents look more suspicious, I wonder if the LE are thinking the same and keeping an eye on them. As time goes by everything is getting weirder.

Neither can I Shazza, refer to him as 'daddy', someone has to talk up for that poor soul.

The site was intitially set up by former student of Aunty Phil's:-

http://www.pdxguide.com/read/usworldnews/ASAP06222007news1034489.cfm

The nerve center of the campaign is a hotel billiards room in Ullapool where the five-strong team maintains the Web site 24/7 work amid snooker cues and pool tables.
Aged between 17 and 19, they are all former students of Madeleine's aunt Philomena McCann, a high school teacher in Ullapool.
"I was contacted by Philomena soon after Madeleine went missing and I have dropped all other projects for the time being," said MacRae.

First link I could find, this was all back in the early days, whether thats changed or not I'm not quite sure, probably now with the media image consultants on board, wouldn't be surprised if thats changed.

Yes , the format on the site changes like the wind, first you could see all daddys previous blogs, now you cant, used to be able to see how the fund was being used, now you cant, now the counters marker has disappeared?

Day 52 - 24/06/2007

If Madeleine is not found in the next couple of weks we need to move out of the appartment we have been staying in as the family is coming out for a holiday.

Well hey presto here is how the fund is being used:-

3.1.3 To provide support, including financial assistance, to Madeleine’s family.

take it that means extended family does it daddy? Oh and by the way there are not 2 p's in apartment.......fingers getting twitchy as you write your 'Postcards from Portugal'?

Catch you guys later:blowkiss:

I cant believe this is happening, there is definitely a cover up somewhere, the McCanns or the LE or maybe both.

He is straight up the line our Aussie Mike, gets straight to the point without mincing his words.
Good onya Mike, you are saying what everyone is thinking.
The missing wallet story didnt last for long, it seem that every time he tries to look like the doting dad, it just makes him look a bigger fool.
Get your act together GM and concentrate on finding your little girl, thats if you want her found.

Is there a chance he's dictating his thoughts and someone else is typing them out? How can you mispell your own daughter's name?

Of course, there's my husband who is about a year behind in what grade the kids are in here.

This may sound too-James Bond movie or something, but is there a code he's sending to someone, someone who might have Madeleine? Could the extra letters form a message?

Whether he's doing the typing or someone else is, have neither never heard of 'spell check'? The blantant mispelling of words looks staged to me to cover up his previous goof of his daughter's name as someone else here suggested. IF that is the case then we are ALL being manipulated here.:liar:

I just noticed that...wonder if the media consultant is keeping a close eye on things? Well we'll soon see if the spelling mistakes come back corrected.

Englishleigh:blowkiss: - I dont think he's sending out a message, I think he's getting 'twitchy'.

LOL...I didn't think so, either, I've seen too many international espionage and mobster films with hubby.. :o I had to throw it out there.

What is this about the family coming out for a "holiday"?? WTF?? On whose dime? A HOLIDAY???? :banghead:

The family is coming out for a HOLIDAY??? Is he having a laugh? Your daughter is missing and your family is coming out for a holiday? You could have blown me over with a feather when I read that. Why on earth would you not say the family is coming out to help search for Madeleine, or offer support, or spend time with the twins?

As for them now being an incorprated company, I am gobsmacked. Never, in all my years of following crime have I seen parents react like that. I keep trying to tell myself not everyone grieves the same way but I am having a much harder time believing it.
