Wristbands and a cd? I could just barf.
The McCanns and their relatives are horrible people.
The McCanns and their relatives are horrible people.
I'm fed up too! It hurts my heart that the McCanns continue to play this game.
I'm quite certain we are going to find that Maddie was sedated so that she would not wake up and call for daddy, only unfortunately she was overdosed. Salem (this is my opinion only)
I try very hard to make sure I do not stand in judgment in others based on my orientations. However, this time I just can not accept the behaviors of these parents as a healthy representation of a different orientation then my own. I am very very hands on , scientific and emotionally driven kind of person. I know if it was my child missing (G-d for bid) I would be searching 24/7. Everything for me would be about the search. Day and night I would be searching that resort and spreading out. When not searching I would be taking a daily visit or two to LE for briefings. PR stuff would be absolulty not on the rador for me. Relasing balloons, photo ops, hiring PR campaign managers all of it incomprehensible to me. Traveling away from the resort totally inconcievable to me. Posting a daily schedule on a blog that showed anything more then searched for my child all day would never happen. I have no right to stand in judgement of these people but irregardless I take a stand and that is that the behaviors of these parents are atrocious to me.

Oh, you mean the campaign that is more about making money and looking good, not about finding their daughter?petra said:If they got that emotionally involved with each one, they wouldn't be able to concentrate on the campaign
I wish I didn't feel this way, but I too am beginning to think that something happened in that apartment that has nothing to do with leaving a door unlocked and someone sneaking in. I wonder if the tapas bar employees could shed some light on Gerry and Kate's behavior while they were dining. Or maybe the three other esteemed colleague families who ate with them- is that why they aren't saying anything?englishleigh said:God forgive me for saying this if I am wrong, but...
I now think they are not giving the Malta sightings any credence b/c they know it is not Madeleine. I think they know Madeleine is dead. And I think they know b/c they know exactly what happened to her.
I think all they care about now is playing "cover their arses" and seeing how much money they can raise for their "fund". And as someone said earlier, why not go home to the UK? Is it b/c most people in the UK feel about them now like many of us do? Is it b/c they know they might be prosecuted in the UK for child endangerment or neglect?
As I said...God forgive me....
MoonGoddess, it sounds as if everyone in the UK is caught up in some kind of hysterical outpouring of emotional support and providing money for Gerry and Kate McCann, almost to the point of making them the victims in her disappearance - is this true?
What is the general feeling of most people towards them?
Is the tide turning and are people there starting to ask the same questions we are about Madeleine's disappearance?
We've read about a "media black-out"- what does that really mean?
Is there some way a person could spark an outcry, say by putting up signs in the windows of their home, much like what happened when Princess Diana died and you were protesting the Queen's behavior?
Sorry this will have to be a bit brief:-
1st point is true but it has died down a lot, I saw on one News item - 2 women totally unbeknown and unrelated to the McCanns filmed at an airport booking tickets to Portugal because "we feel we just have to do something, we're going out to help in the search"...everywhere you went you had a collection bucket' on hand to 'donate' to the 'fund', my workplace had 'a dress down day' with all proceeds to the 'fund' that sort of thing........fricking ridiculous, but you were made to feel umcomfertable if you weren't flowing in the wave of public sympathy...
2nd point - most people I know are sick of it......a kind of 'media overexposure' in the early days but now the media have backed off a bit and limited reporting....
3rd point - a lot of debate on UK forums re the 'media blackout' which is bascially no one in the uk media having the balls to raise the question of why they left the kids reguarly, why they aren't being investigated by social services, why wont it be 'confirmed' exactly what time Madeleine was last seen alive by anyone other than the McC's...media will only portray them as the victims
4th point - I personally think people are not that bothered to go to those lenghts but the people that do care are writing on Forums and blogs - Aussie Mike has a lot of comments from the UK which offers a good indication of how most of us feel but are afraid to say
I do feel the tide is turning slightly though, I cant work out if the Portugese police are not investigating the parents or they are being 'encouraged' not to? it all seems to have gotten a bit political which is the bit that I cant get my head around - thank the Lord for the likes of Aussie Mike - I just hope he doesnt get :silenced:
Hope this makes sense.
Luv all you guys-will see you tomoz.
I'd send an e-mail to the site and try to raise a ruckus, but I doubt it would do any good. This seems like a huge scam to capitalize on people's generosity and emotions over the disappearance of this darling little girl. Sadly, I don't think this is about Madeleine anymore. Even more sadly, I doubt she's ever going home.petra said:Answers to questions about how to donate and what funds to the incorporated fund will be used for-- it does not appear to be a charity ( 501c3)...imo

3.1.3 To provide support, including financial assistance, to Madeleines family.
3.2 If the above objects are fulfilled then the objects of the Foundation shall be to pursue such purposes in similar cases arising in the United Kingdom, Portugal or elsewhere.
Oh, the wording on this is just precious. Who will determine when "the above objects are fulfilled"? If Kate McCann decides to take on the crusade of raising awareness about missing/abducted children she can always say that she will need access to the monies indefinately. After all she will be giving up her career as a doctor to take on this unpaid charade....I mean crusade(thank you lizziedripping). It is waaaaay to open-ended.![]()
Of course it is....:snooty:
What exactly do the McCanns need all this money for? Are they trying to get funds to get texas equserach to come to search, are the funds inorder to pay for a excevation of a site they belive their daughter is buried at? what is it they need so much money for??? I am all for sending money to help with expensise to locate a missing person but this seems all backwards. The focus seems on money raising with a secondary agenda of a child being missing. Are others as confounded as I am??

Count me as one of the confoundedmjak, I do not understand any of it and it gets worse as each day passes.![]()
I can honestly say that I have not seen any evidence of monies actually spent to search for Madeleine in any way, shape or form.
:twocents:
I mean I would glandly send money if I thought it would help but I don't see what it is being used for? where are the searches for maddie? This couple does not seem to be financialy strapped, they were on an exclusive vacation and being physicians are on the top of the line for earning capacity. So what is this great financial need for. If texas equsearch was asking for funds to go to portugual to serach I would glandly send but somehow I don't think these funds are going for anything like that. What is being done to find Maddie?
