Hey you guys...haven't been over here in a while; been busy. I constantly have the Madeleine case in the back of my mind....it is getting crowded back there! After noticing that you guys were still discussing the case, and reading the gist of where your feelings currently are, I just went over to the "For Madeleine!" progboards site that evolved after Steve had to move the original discussion from Crimeblog.us when the traffic got too heavy, and it was obvious the discussion needed a broader perspective. Anyway, the site is moderated and participated in by some of the kindest, most sincere and dedicated people I have ever seen. They have done some things that I was not fond of, in terms of what they allowed to be posted, and what they considered "moderated", but then.....the case has always had a certain degree of cultural diversity to it, so I just chalked my issues up to me being an Apalachian American (aka Southern Redneck) with a "Get 'er done" attitude......so I gave the rest of the world a break. Big of me, huh? The people on that board have stayed up with very little sleep for weeks on end. They have been tolerant of psychic views, and have even created a place for them to post. They have been ENORMOUSLY supportive of the McCann's and have essentialy castigated people who spoke out against the McCann's. Therefore, when I caught the gist of what the mood here at WS's was, I headed over there. Summary: They are also talking about the financial nature of the "machine" that missing Madeleine has become. Most of the "old timers" on that site are still supportive of the McCann's, but a few of the more international old timers, i.e. not British and not Portugese, have begun to sound like you guys over here. From my perspective, this case has never made any sense. I have never been able to put to bed the idea of them being on vacation in a strange country, in a strange room, and then going out to dinner, while leaving such small children alone. I don't care if it was "close". I could not do it....and therefore, I can't understand THEM doing it. Most of the other Apalachian American's I know, could not do it. I have also had a feeling of something not "right" in their methods of investigating the apparent abduction. I have tried to chalk this up to "There, but by the Grace of God, go I", but it is sort of like biteing into a lemon. Something just seems "off". Now, with some history behind us, and with sightings in various countries, and money accumulating from many countries..... well..... I wait and watch. You guys are great, and I will be checking in again frequently. Thanks for being here. Of all the people in the world, YOU guys care, and you are smart. I feel really bad if the McCann's are ultimately found to be somehow associated with this tragedy. It is going to hurt an awful lot of good people who have prayed, read their Tarot cards, and searched suspects websites. Of course, the one thing that True Crime teaches me, is the resiliant nature of humankind. We all basically choose to pitch our tents in one of two camps....."the good guys"....or "the bad guys"..... I know where you would pitch your tents.:clap:
