I am starting to think that maybe there is a secret code hidden in his blog....:waitasec:

Any codetalkers in the house??

Ok, I can't resist any more....

Remember when I posted this (page 8, post #193)??

The blog has since been corrected but originally it read:

Day 58 - 30/06/2007

Family day spent with Sean, Amelie, our friends and their kids. Attended mass this evening which was conducted in English with prayers for Madeleine.

We have confirmed our new accommodation and will be moving in the next few days. We seem to have acquired a lot more stuff, partucularly the twins with lots of well wishers sending them toys, We will be staying on Portugsl for thr immrdiste future and are determined to come home with Madeleine.

Staying in the Algarve also makes it easier to stay in touch with the Portuguese polce, this is particularly important with the investigation being so active. We have regular meetings and calls to keep abreatst of developmennts

Now, take those misspelled words and switch them around.

Immediate developments abreast, particulary the Portugal Police

Subconscious? Or perhaps something more sinister? A message?

I'll let you decide...

Can someone tell me where I can find the link to the timeline, as well as a
list of all the discrepancies?
I cannot find the one everyone is talking about, and I really want to see it.

Thanks!! :-)
I can't find it either............ it's probably there right in front of my eyes but I can't see it!!

Glad to see I wasn't the only one who had such a hard time finding it. I think the problem is we were expecting an actual timeline and it's really an article. I hope this is what everyone else is talking about:

The original (Portuguese) article can be found at Sol

Here is part of the translated English article:

published in Sol, on June 30, 2007

an article by Felicia Cabrita and Margarida Davim

Madeleine Case

Pact of Silence

Madeleine’s parents and the friends with whom they spent their holidays in PDL are suspects in the inquiry. There are contradictory versions about the night of the kidnapping, and an assumed pact of silence in the group

The beginning of June is flowing in a strange way in the Algarve. A chilly wind and overhead clouds help to fill the auditorium of Lagos, where a solidarity concert is being held for the missing english girl. It’s been a month since Madeleine McCann vanished without a trace.

A few kilometres from Lagos, in the Ocean Club resort at Praia da Luz, the faint illumination further densifies the climate. At the reception, which leads to the Tapas restaurant, there is nobody. Getting inside is easy.(snip)

From this article about donating the toys left for Madeleine... http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,91210-1273308,00.html

this statment...

"But not all the toys will be passed on to other children - a few will be kept for when Madeleine comes home, reports the Leicester Mercury.
Mr Kennedy said: "I think she's all right for toys. We will keep one or two for her."

What's with the second to last sentence? "I think she's all right for toys" ???

Thanks for the link. I did, in fact, think there was an actual timeline. :-)

I think it just means she already has plenty of toys at home and has been sent a ton more, so she is not lacking for any.

Here is another example of the difference a missing child makes-

That was Beth then, this is Beth now, two years after Natalee's disappearance.

I feel like this will be washed over Cali... Whether the parents are guilty or not of doing 'something' to Madeleine I believe they need to be investigated. In America they would be the first 'suspects' the LE would look at. Typically a crime is commited by someone you know or are close to. It is not always the case but I think if nothing else the parents need to be ruled out. They haven't been. The LE have not proved to me that they are innocent in this crime.
I think Madeleine woke up, and wandered out. I think M came back and found her standing in the hall or outside... That's what I think. What happened from that moment forward I don't know. I don't think Mrs. M though knew what happened or knows what happened. My gut tells me that. A kidnapping has not been proven here...

A very telling comment is that the PJ have clarified that Madeleine's disappearance is exactly that- a disappearance. They refuse to say she was abducted despite her father's claims.

Colomom, you must have the patience of a saint to be able to sit and figure that out and even make a sentence out of the misspelt words, but it doesnt really mean anything to us, wonder if he is sending a message or warning to whomever has Madelaine. Mmmmmmm.

Whew, am I glad to be back here. I spent part of the afternoon in another Madeleine forum, and I have never read such one-sided crap. They are in such total denial. Poor parents!

Has anyone seen this article? http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/index.php?storyID=7536

Chemello and Vaz had a small made-up bed in the garage of their apartment, and authorities are trying to determine if Madeleine was there.

Vaz is from Algarve.

Thanks for the link CaliKid, very interesting.
This case is going to take forever, not sure the LE are on the right track.

From GM's blog:

"We did a single interview today for the Portuguese media with a British journalist sitting in. The interview marked the fact that it is two months to the day since Madeleine was abducted. We took the opportunity to emphasise that we would be staying in Portugal for the immediate future and continuing the campaign to help find Madeleine. We also want to work closely with the media here in Portugal and engage closely with the Portuguese people who have been so supportive.

We were asked what was the hardest day since Madeleine disappeared and replied that every day has been hard without Madeleine. We also stated that our determination to find Madeleine is matched by the Portuguese police and that we have a good working relationship with them. Our frequent meetings with the police help us stay informed, allow us to feed information into the investigation and let clarify information with senior officers conducting the investigation
"

He spelled everything correctly and actually talks about his missing daughter.

He did not write that (assuming he wrote the previous entries) IMHO!

P.S. Alan Johnston has been freed, wonderful news!!!

He used to say the first three days were the hardest, but I guess that's minor.

Has this link to wikipedia been posted yet? There is some interesting information here, some of which contradicts what I understand to have happened.

The article says "the couple" found Madeleine missing. Also it says there was only 10 or 15 minutes between the time they found Madeleine missing and the time they called police. They post a lot of references, but I did not take time to read them all.

I'm interested to see what others think.......

Colomom - it appears the site has been cleaned up. Did you see any other "coded" messages before he got someone to review the blog before posting?

I thought maybe if we looked at a few of the previous posts, we could either develop a theory or skip it, depending on what the older posts showed. Anyway.... I was disappointed not to find the old posts, I thought it might be kinda fun to play around with.....

From what I understand, the local police were called almost immediately, but the regional group- the JP- not for 2 hours.

Maybe the question about the mysterious stranger who was carrying a child the night Madeleine disappeared outside the apartments has been answered.

According to the article, GM left the group at 9:05 to check the children. Except for a partially-opened bedroom door, everything was fine. On the way back to the Tapas restaurant he ran into a friend of his. Jeremy Wilkins, who knows GM because they played tennis together, was out walking with his 8-month-old. The two stopped to speak to each other.

At 9:30 Jane Tanner, one of the McCanns' dinner companions, left the apartments late on her way to the restaurant. She saw a dark-haired man carrying a sleeping child in his arms. But Jeremy Wilkins didn't see anyone else except GM.

I think Jeremy Wilkins is the man Jane Tanner saw.

. . .I think Jeremy Wilkins is the man Jane Tanner saw.
Perhaps but isnt there a big difference in appearance between an 8 mo old infant and a 3 yrs old child? That makes it hard to see how any mistake was made.

If the baby was wrapped up in a large blanket, I think a mistake could easily be made. Madeleine is small for her age. You also have to remember that it was a couple weeks after she disappeared that the story about the dark-haired stranger came out. In those weeks it would be easy to second-guess what you think you saw.

I don't know. You would have to wrap a child in a full sized bed comforter and likely end up smothering it for anyone I know to see a size even appraoching the size of a 3 yrs old and this was somehow recognized as being a child that was carried.

Edited to strike until I can check source to sure if facts correct:And was not the child heard to speak? So I wonder how an 8 mo old is speaking and asking to go home etc.
