:woohoo: :woohoo:
It was kind of ironic, we were at a really popular park here in Belgium yesterday evening and letting the kids play....my hubby called me over and said who does that look like. It was a little girl and she did look quite a bit like Maddie.....The man and woman with this little girl seemed pretty normal though, I was taking photos of my kids playing and they must have been there for a while cause they left not long after us getting there. She had the same color hair, the same hair cut. Too make it even more ironic, the lady was calling for her to come and called her Madelana or something like that, it sounded just like madeleine but with an a at the end. I don't think it was her but it did have me wondering for a few minutes

Kel

Please report this to the Belgium police ASAP.

Clues Suggest Madeleine McCann Might Be Dead, Police Say

"In the past few days there have been some developments, some clues that have been found that could point to the possible death of the little child," the British Broadcasting Corp. quoted investigator Olegario Sousa as saying during an interview in Portugal.

Madeleine: Diplomacy pressures PJ
PJ forced to investigate kidnapping lead

Alípio Ribeiro, national director of PJ, received a call from John Buck, the british ambassador in Portugal, on the night Madeleine disapeared from the Ocean Club, on May 3.

Around 11 p.m., approximately two hours after the child's disppearance had been communicated to the police, Alípio Ribeiro had to interrupt a private dinner in order to listen to the diplomat. That phone call was the first sign that the british were very keen on accompanying the PJ’s actions very closely, and in forcing the investigations to follow the abduction theory.

~snip~

The couple has benefitted from the help of powerful friends. The first spokesperson for the McCanns, Clarence Mitchell, who organized the several trips Maddie's parents did into various countries, is now an aide of Gordon Brown.

Brown supported the Maddie cause from the begining, because Jill Renwick, a long time friend of the couple, is a neighbour of John Brown, brother of the british prime-minister.

I KNEW I'd read somewhere that the British consulate intervened early on in the investigation. But I couldn't put my finger on where the information had come from, and when I asked later nobody had an answer.

This is where the interference into Madeleine's disappearance came from- very early on. Within a couple of hours the entire "abduction theory" had been established and powerful people in the UK were getting involved.

Gerry McCann's family (Aunt Philomena) has said that they heard from him that night and used their connections to get the FindMadeleine machine rolling. Since the PJ supposedly has been monitoring e-mails and phone calls among the parents and their friends, it makes me wonder if GM called her before 10:00 and if the PJ know this.

If the parents are involved, what would the motive have been? An extreme fit of rage? Where would they have hidden the body?? Especially, if the British dogs are correct, and a body had been in the location for at least two hours. That would mean Madeleine would have had to die fairly quickly after they picked the children up from the creche. Then, what, Gerry and Kate just left the body there alone with the twins while they went to dinner? That seems ridiculous. If the parents are involved, I think it was an accident, maybe an act of rage. If this happened, could it have been a case where one of the parents did it while the other was in the shower, and then posed her to look like she was asleep already? That way, the parent who would have been in the shower, would never have really known what happened. But then again....how do you dispose of the body? I suppose, the murdering parent could have then gone to dinner and enlisted the help of some of the other members of the party, but that seems ridiculous also. What would you go to dinner and SAY??? "Ahhh, we have a bit of a problem. I accidentally killed Madeleine, and I need you to go back to the apartment and help me get rid of the body". That is also ridiculous. This case is SO frustrating, NOTHING makes sense. Just trying to think out loud with you guys, because my husband refuses to sit and speculate with me. :o

http://news.sky.com/skynews/video/videoplayer/0,,31200-1279448,.html

This is the full Sky News video of the McCanns' interview, not just the 3-4 minutes we originally saw.

Check out the first question to them- how they deal with the various sightings of Madeleine. Kate McCann says the main thing is knowing whether the sighting is credible or not which makes sense, but it seems to me that the parents have not reacted to any of them, as in not giving them any chance at all. She also said they don't go through the up and down rollercoaster, and as human beings I don't see how that could be emotionally possible. Unless they knew for sure they weren't Madeleine. Or maybe they're just stating it badly.

And is this a slip of the tongue? In answer to a question about staying in Portugal, at 6:25 GM says, "I think we both want to find Madeleine?" You mean, you don't know if you want to find her? One of you wants to worse than the other?

You don't even have to watch carefully to notice how neither Kate nor Gerry can maintain eye contact with Amanda Walker, the woman who interviewed them. Both blink rapidly, fidget and keep looking at the camera to the left. GM, in particular, looks very nervous.

And if I hear one more time that the parents are referring to the distance of the Tapas bar as being anything under the already known 100 yards I'm going to scream. An unlocked door in a resort apartment in a strange country 100 yards from you is not- repeat NOT the same thing as being on a different floor of your house or in the garage when your child is inside. Exactly how big are gardens in the UK? Just how stupid do the parents think we are? It's insulting!

.....But subsequently the police have stated that the clothes were not Madeleine's.

Also from the beginning, I think Mark Warner resort inc and their PR people had a lot of influence. Private planes, powerful people-celebraties, pressure on the British diplomat and the PJ. They have a very well known PR firm that does all thier work.
And simply could not have the bad press and fear of lack of safety at their resorts. I think they pulled alot of strings.

I know it is not a picture of the apartment in detail but....

http://www.bookmyvillas.com/villadetails.asp?villaid=10002

Ask and ye shall receive

Thanks for this. Wow, it really puts things in perspective.
This apartment is not parkt of the resort. It cost 200 GBP per week and included the right to eat at the resorts restaurants but needed to by day pass for pool, beach, etc.
If they were at they resort it is circa 2.600GBP per week for two adults and includes half board and free wine as well as use of all the facilities.

So--I need to look back at things--what is the story about the babysitting services and the barnehagen avaialable to them?
Sounds like they would have to pay extra for barnehagen since they were not in the resort and it was not included in the services.
So that actually went out of their way to find this service and planned the use of it. Does that make sense??

ITA. This just gets weirder and weirder. A 10 minute window for a kidnapper, one road out and to the town, murder, accidental death, Tapas 9 involvement, Maddie leaving on her own, RM, the siffer dogs of all sorts, the sightings, the connection with the mising Swiss girl and on and on.
:banghead: I have no idea about any of it, everything is believable as well as so unbelievable.

I don't think the picture of the villa that Colomom found was the same apartment that the McCann's rented, was it? These apartments are probably a lot like the ones at Myrtle Beach (where I LOVE to go), and some are privately owned, and some are part of the resort. We just went to Wild Dunes resort in Charleston, SC, and rented a beach house. The house was close to Wild Dunes, but not a "part" of it. You would need what they call a "Sports Card" to have access to the amenities such as the pool, etc. We had a private pool at the house, and that was fine for us. I suspect the apartments that all of the McCann party rented were ALL part of the resort complex, with the exception of one of the party members, who I seem to recall stayed somewhere else. Did I dream that part, or does anyone else remember it too??

   Reannan-I am getting so confused now-I can't remember anything. I was just reading the decription of the apartment info provided--and they even said you need to bring your own bedsheets and beach towels. And that no maid service is provided.

So if this acctually the one they stayed in--it gives me a different picture than if they wre in the resort area itself.

Myrtle Beach always looks so beautiful to me in pictures!! Sounds lovely

From the Irish Examiner- McCanns 'fear worst' ahead of DNA results

A family friend of Kate and Gerry McCann, from Rothley, Leicestershire, said it was “extraordinary” that police had “not had the decency” to contact the couple before giving the interview.
-------------------------------------------------

I think this goes back to what I said earlier. The PJ are not going to call the McCanns suspects unless/until they have proof that Madeleine is dead and the parents are the perps. To do so beforehand would be irresponsible.

Here is a link to the blog of the gentleman that visited the Ocean Club. If you look through the pictures there is one of him standing in front of the front door. You will note the number: 5A

I am 99.9% sure that the link I posted is for the actual apartment the McCanns stayed in.

ITA. Being labeled a suspect under PT law is a very serious matter---and then you are also allowed legal representation to speak for you. PJ has had a bad experience with labeling RMurant a suspect-even a proposed civil suit against them.
I think they will need some ironclad proof. And there is no rush to do so.
imo

I found a picture of a bedroom and the living room of the apartment on a psychic website operated by Brian. I don't know anything about his accuracy, but he had an extensive page going on Madeleine based on information that people were sending him about the case. Around a month ago he had to stop making predictions when the McCanns threatened to sue him.

http://🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.com/dd/5441.htm

If you look a little lower than halfway down the page, the first picture you come to is of twin beds with floral spreads. Go a bit further down and you'll see to the right a photo of the living area. I have no idea if this is the right bedroom or not.
