(SNIP)
Why are there no traces of this man in the apartment, simple, he wore gloves. And secondly, because so many people (20+) were running in and out the apartment before forensic managed to seal it off, that so many traces were disturbed and lost anyway.
(SNIP)

I think there were 50 people in the apartment when police arrived- it wasn't that forensic couldn't "manage" to close it off fast enough. The scene had been hopelessly compromised before that time.

This would exclude the Smiths sighting! Unless he drove to near the beach and left his car somewhere near the Smiths and then went on foot.

Again, why?

And why kill the child if your intention is just to make a mess to your employer? Couldn't he just start a fire?
Unless he was sacked because he was actually not mentally well?

Or he had some criminal links so he actually sold the child?

He could just let her walk free anywhere really.. no need to kill..

Correct. The Smith sighting in this scenario is just as false as Tannerman was, but probably never gets resolved.

The reason to kill a child could be many. He hid her too long, did not properly feed her or got so scared by the media frenzy that he just didn't see any possibility to let the child go free without incriminating himself. Maybe even they were zooming in on him, or did he see police searching houses in his village and decided to get rid of his hostage. Many scenarios are feasible. I don't think it was a pre-planned murder, but could certainly have turned into death by accident.

He did not live in a village. He lived in a town, Lagos. As long as I remember Lagos wasn't searched, and how can one search the town?

So, if this story is true than there are two options, either he acted alone or he acted with someone with intention to sell the child.

If the second is correct than leaking this story in the media is a big crime !

If the first is correct then there is no help :(

I wonder if his wife also worked in OC ? As many couples actually did work in OC together.

Maybe even her statement is among the other statements!

Plus there is no news on internet on a guy who is 40 dying in a tractor accident in 2009 in Portugal.

How can one best retaliate against a vacation park, well just induce a terrible event like this and bookings will drop to zero.

And did they?

And did they?

Nope. So, this was a very unsuccessful retaliation that also sparked off a world wide media frenzy that nobody could have foreseen.

It seems odd that Madeleine and the twins weren't invited to go to the beach with the rest of the group. I can't help wondering if the tiff between GM and KM caused the other Tapas to keep their distance that day. The previous evening, K was angry with G, and they returned separately to their apartment.

Most of us have observed a quarrel between spouses; sometimes it is quite embarrassing, particularly if they have been drinking. Maybe they decided not to 'invite' the M's to go as a group to the beach.

Maybe, but it doesn't seem to have affected their evening arrangements.

And did they?
the Mark Warner group no longer owns the resort. I've checked out their website. I googled it.

I don't know how long it was before they sold it though, or who operates it now.

I do think this dusgruntled employee stealing madeleine to get back at his employers is a bit of a joke at best.....deary me

Not sure where this theory came from because I'm too lazy to read all previous threads.I agree a joke indeed. Disgruntled employee would normally go after the employer not abduct a little girl for Pete's sake.

Same problem with the blinds from another previous occupant of 5A
Jane Hughes who stayed with her husband there from The 14th of April through 21st of April of 2007
"We arrived on Saturday and this night noticed that the blinds on the patio side door which gave way to the pool zone did not close. It appeared that someone had lifted them too much and the mechanism did not dislodge in order to shut them. We reported this abnormality to the reception that same night. We reported this immediately because we found that the apartment could be at risk if it was not possible to close the door blinds...Sunday morning a functionary came to fix the blind. The patio door blind was on the outside of the patio door.

I don't understand what your implying by your post. Are you saying the blinds were broken but yet the mccanns didn't notice but these other folks did?

Do/did they actually own it anyway? They are not the only tour operator selling it. The apartments are all privately owned and can be booked direct with the owners in many cases, so I understand.

Its seems its a race to get a result, the PJ looking for remains? NSY looking for scapegoats to lay the blame. The hurry on the latter, is to get a result before the libel trial resumes? As each day goes by I am more convinced that NSY are working against getting to the truth.

Sadly, I tend to agree. Any investigation that was 'called for' by the McCanns, imo, has the hallmarks of whitewash.

I was waiting for the 'nasty man dunnit, but he's dead now' outcome, although the Tractorman scenario is laughable; it would take one seriously messed up employee to steal and kill a child to make a point. I think we would have heard about him by now from other employees if he was a weirdo.

Funny how another 'distraction' turns up just as the focus in on the e-fit looking like GM.

Oh but:
Kate and Gerry McCann say reports that hotel worker kidnapped Madeleine are "pure speculation"

Yeah, right - thou protesteth waaaay too much dudes!

Actually this is one of a series of about 4 posts on the last few pages. The last of which says that it is interesting to me that 3 out of 4 tenants of 5A in the month of April 2007 had to have maintenance come out and fix the blinds. The McCanns did too. I am speculating that perhaps the blinds were somehow tampered with to cause a "maintenance person" to come to the apartment, see who is there, what the set up is. An excuse to scout the apartment.

Ok so the latest update is madeleine was abducted by a disgruntled ex employee who killed her and he died in a tractor accident. Did I get that right?

From the Mirror, so I'm still waiting for confirmation.
Take with a grain of salt.

Madeleine McCann 'kidnapper' was 'hotel worker who snatched her after being sacked then DIED in tractor accident'
