I quite possibly have too much time on my hands... but.... I marked up a copy of one of the interior photos that we've been discussing the last few days... I used different colours to help make discussion easier, and I added questions / comments right to the photo. I give you a clean copy, and then the version with circles we had been sharing here (because its a bit lighter and helps show what I'm talking about in my version, which is last along screen right).

I think the thing on the yoga ball is a pair of shoes, not a doll. I drew the outline of it and shoes like high tops came to mind... I note there was some reflection as well, so maybe its sporty shoes?

There is a black thing middle of the room on the table. It has an orange end. A PS3 remote came to mind (for games like Just dance)? Perhaps it is lit up? I'll post one so you can see what I mean in a follow up post.

The "dog" / "cushion" thing: the "leg" along the sofa has an orange tone to it? Part of the dog? Part of a cushion? I don't know, but I'm showing you so you can debate.

What is on the floor beside the dog sofa??

What the heck are the dates on the flyers or newspaper along the back wall??! Where are they from??

The "fire poker" or "whip" has a hole in the "top" part towards the centre of the room. Might help us understand better what it might be.

The "dog" on the floor by the yoga ball, might be a purse or a backpack? I don't see a dog, but I get why some do.

Oh and that might be an "airbed" on the floor between the post and yoga ball. I noted there is something darker to the right of the blanket type thing, but its NOT likely a shadow. I look at the light and its coming from an angle behind the post a bit. Note there is NO shadow behind the lamp at the back of the room... the rest of the shadows follow the same way - and we have the reflection off the yoga ball. This was likely a flash that went off as this is hard light, and if it was soft light, or dim light, I'd have said room or ambient lighting. Best guesses anyhow, but what do I know?

I hope this helps....

Thank you for this. I think those are brown pillows rather than a dog on the left couch. I also do not see a figure of a person anywhere and I do not think that LE (like a previous poster mentioned) would ever put a photo like that for everyone to view, obscure or not.

The problem with that theory is that the rape video was found in mid-2006 when his "friends" broke in to the farmhouse and found the camera. He didn't move in with NF and meet the German girl who got pregnant until the second half of 2007.

Dlk - I really like to understand this a little more..........

"Brueckner was arrested for attacking the American woman after a former friend came forward to police revealing that he had stolen a video camera showing the assault."

The witness told the court that he stole the camera from his friend's house in Praia da Luz in 2006 and that it showed an older woman being tied up, beaten and raped.

In her statement the woman said she was beaten with a metal pole.

Brueckner was charged in August last year after a 'cold case' team re-examined all the evidence. A hair found at the villa linked the German to the assault.
Brueckner was arrested for attacking the American woman after a former friend came forward to police revealing that he had stolen a video camera showing the assault."

So that's possibly 13 years that the video existed before the 'friend' came forward with the info? Is that right?
So, where was the video all that time? Did the friend keep it for 13 years before even discovering the footage, or did they view it years ago, then go to the Police 13 years later?

That's a long time to keep one camera imo, unless you've got a load of stuff in storage belonging to CB.
If the person saw the footage in 2006, why was that info not passed on for such a long time?

I really don’t know,to be honest. However I do remember reading about AB before and the attic.
How Madeleine suspect slept in my attic | Daily Mail Online
So just a question,is CBs name Brueckner or Bruckner?
In The Netherlands,it is spelled Brückner.i wonder what he was doing in NL anyway...or connections he had?
His British ex-gf from Birkshire had lived in the NL for a couple of years before going to live in Lagos in 2003.
Could that be a lead?

Dots are ‘umlaut’, if I remember correctly. English typewriters didn’t have umlauts so used ‘ye’ instead. So, it’s the same thing, essentially.

I realized after I posted, the version I marked up (the last one on the right) is probably too small to be discussed, so here is a bigger version:
I kind of thought the orange tip on the 'remote' was just the couch showing through. But maybe not. I don't see an orange tip on the item on the couch to the left though. I think that black longish object on the pale yellow squarish thing (small inflatable?) could be his weapon (car tool?). I don't see shoes on the exercise ball, I was thinking more like a sweater drapped over it. By the way, what is the big square shiny patch on the wall to the right of the air conditioner, any ideas?

Looks like a jigsaw that was completed and put on a backing board and hung up.

Ref KM saying ‘they’ve taken her’ - could be using ‘they’ as ‘her or ‘she’ on the basis that KM seemed naive about the prospects of paedophiles in 2007 - from her book or media interviews after - and may have defaulted to kidnap for a family desperate for a child, especially as they’d had ivf/struggles for their own girl.

I think it's pronounced "BRUCKNA" ( or Brooke - na)

Because the German police already suspected in 2018 that he might have something to do with the disappearance of Maddie McCann and were considered "very dangerous", the Braunschweig detective arranged for him to be monitored 24 hours a day. This was done by local police officers and colleagues from the federal police.

Games
Brückner would soon have noticed that he was being watched. “He started playing games with us. For example, got on a tram and got off again shortly afterwards, "the regional newspaper quoted one of the members of the observation team at the time. The detectives soon had enough of his games and told the suspect: "You will not lose us anyway."

The multiple convicted sex offender is said to have reacted angrily but eventually resigned himself to the situation. The investigators even made arrangements with Brückner. "I said to him: we can make things easier for ourselves. Let us know where you want to go. For example, we brought it to the health insurer or to the city center. "

I agree. Younger children have different proportions in their body parts eg larger heads, not just smaller physical sizes. Not sure about a severely malnourished older child, but it seems unlikely that he would hold children long enough for that to be an issue.

A word about the possible play station controllers I mentioned above.... They're called play station move controllers and were used for games that connected a camera to the console, and the controllers caused the characters on the tv to react. Just Dance is one such game that used these controllers. A word of caution though, I've no idea how old the photo in question is, and play station move controllers didn't come out til about 2010 that I know of..... I'm showing you anyhow for your consideration. If I'm wrong, my idea may still spark someone else to come up with something else that might be correct...

Thank you, Photographer! Made a note to ask my brother about console handsets the other night when we were discussing this but never followed it up. I’m no gamer but I remember these handsets. Hit the nail on the head there!
Probably not important like, but one less thing to focus on! And we now know this pic must be post-2010, so can rule out any theories of MM being photoshopped out.
Good work ;)!

Also, re: your explanation about dust in a lens (thanks!), I wouldn’t think it’s dust really. Maybe a smudge on a computer screen and then the photo was snapped from the screen, that was my first thought. But the more I look at it, with the depth of colour in the original pic and the horizontal lines through it, the more I’m convinced it’s a print out of a photo - CB probably had the same sh1tty Epson printer I did, it looks similar in the pic, and this is always how my photo prints turned out. Especially when I had just replaced my ink cartridges and just used printer paper instead of proper photograph paper. It definitely looks like smoke to me now.

No, I don't see that.

It might be because I can zoom in on my tablet, but it looks like a little girl and a boy to me. In that setting I really hope I'm wrong :(

If the pic is of when CB was living there it's got to be 2006 or before as he left there in 2006.

No they are not children unless they are "the borrowers" or Frodo Baggins kids. They are FAR too small to be children. If you compare to the size of the fitness ball they are ridiculously small.
There are no children in that photo, sorry.

Was thinking this, Ted. And feeling a bit deflated now after all the time we’ve spent on it, but - is it possible this is pic is a more recent one and CB didn’t live there at the time it was taken? Someone mentioned previously the pic is under copyright of “AFP” - a quick Google search tells me this is most likely Agence France-Presse, like someone previously mentioned. Would they have the right to put their name to it if it was CB’s own pic? Is it possible it’s just from when LE started to investigate him, so it’s all a new owner’s furniture?

the header translates to english as Bus. is this correctly translated?
"German detectives even followed Christian B when he traveled to the Netherlands by bus. At the border, they informed their Dutch colleagues about the arrival of the sex offender…"

is it possible CB had lost all his cars by 2018.
