Yeah I've looked at the blinds - presuming they're those thin metal ones I don't know whether square pillow dog would be able to bend them back so precisely. That's not too say he's not a smart dog, as he did manage to disguise himself as a scatter cushion quite well.

Every time. Thank feck I’m not on the tea tonight.

I don’t know if I’d call that precise, now. All the affected blinds are pushed upwards, yes, but at different angles. Some are missing too. Looks like square pillow dog got his snout right up there.

You know the menfolk will be ragin tomorrow when they log on and all we’ve done is discuss furnishings and sex toys?

But we haven’t heard any news that CB had dogs in Portugal, so is this Portugal or Germany pics?! I think Portugal, so maybe not dogs but cushions even if I can’t unsee the sofa dog. These metal blinds are not sturdy with dogs, kids or heavy handed people so don’t want to get too preoccupied with them as they’re probs old or overused at time of pic anyway.

I think anyone logging on tomorrow morning will just be disappointed they have so many posts to catch up on, will be interesting to hear their perspectives so morning to you all! :)

The one with the extra chairs is the better quality pic. Do you think both are from video stills?
I think they could be taken on widely separated occasions, one more recent than the other, so with better quality equipment available. CB maybe used the same bolt hole at different times with different, um, guests. It could be German LE who spotted that the setting of two separate video nasties is actually the same location.

No developments on MM's disappearance...

I keep thinking Christian Brückner isn't clever enough to commit such an ingeniously planned abduction. All his known crimes are disastrous.

I admit he could have been there, but he was just an accomplice, mere manpower, never a gang-leader, not even in dreams.

His known crimes may be disastrous, but what about his unknown ones? I think it's risky to judge someone only by their failures...

According to neighbours, he had two dogs while there.

A German couple who have lived in the village for more than 20 years said they immediately recognised Brueckner when he was named last week as the prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine and his image appeared in the media.

‘I said, “That’s Christian” before I even read what his name was,’ said the husband, who asked not to be named.

‘The first time I met him he was hosting a party at the restaurant.

‘He had two dogs, one medium-sized, one small. The name of the small one I even remember, it was called Frau Muller and was always rummaging around the bins.

But yeah, the blinds are a minute detail (my fave).

ETA - I always forget to link, sorry!
Could evidence in this house lead police to Madeleine McCann?

I think you’re probably right, Looby. Hence the appeal for people that knew the inside of his houses - to confirm he lived there in both scenes.

Could it be smoke? I smoke and it always looks like there’s a ghost in photos with me o_O

ETA - it always throws up funky swirls through the smoke too.

If something had been photoshopped out of the photo, assuming LE did it, and did it correctly, there would be no indication visible in the photo that it had been altered. Let me show ya.... what you see below would also apply to photos that were originally prints... once we turn them digital (scan them into the computer or take a pic of the pic and work on that digitally)... we can do anything... and if it is done well, you cannot tell....

I'm too lazy to grab a link so if you want to see how it is done, search the words below the photo... on youtube....

It was interesting to read all of your thoughts on who he might be and how he might operate. I’ve definitely been thinking about that too. I think he sounds street smart rather than intelligent, utterly depraved, industrious (does what he needs to do to survive or occasionally thrive in financial sense), zero empathy, capable of planning but also impulsive, arrogant, and more than a little lucky.

I think it’s sometimes pointless trying to figure people like him out though - people you believe might be operating as part of a ring of acquaintances with the most awful depraved interests. I don’t know if normal folks can really truly imagine how their relationships work. What they would and wouldn’t do to maintain those relationships, or what the ‘give and take’ parameters are.

I don’t know if he took MM, but I do believe he’s probably the most awful type of human being.

It was in this pic someone upthread said they thought the could see a child. Look next to the fitness ball on the floor, the faint swirly lines could appear to show shape of child sitting with legs out straight and crossed at the ankles

There's no child there in the pic.
If there would have been, LE would never have released the photo to the media!
And again, if this would have been a leaked out pic with a child in it, the media would have shouted it out from every roof top!

I have to say this latest speculation is a bit overthetop and distasteful and lightly treated considering the situation.

Madeleine McCann ‘chief suspect’ was never interviewed by cops despite ‘credible’ theory he’d abducted Maddie after losing job at Praia da Luz Ocean Club
What about this guy? If he was stealing laptops, cameras, passports etc and CB did it, too.. - how many things were actually stollen in there????

It's amazing anyone could get a night's sleep at Ocean Club what with all the burglars, pedos, suspicious eastern europeans, pock marked men and drifters hanging around.

I don't see much in the photo, but I have seen the "trace the object" Europol photos and most of them are not even photoshopped. They just white out the victim or act, but you can still make out a shape, sadly.

I've decided to unsubscribe and check back in a month. The thread moves to fast to keep up with and nothing is happening in the case.

I dont think he was intellectually clever but after years of burglary and breaking into homes to rape women I think he will have perfected his craft for entering property undetected and leaving minimal traces.

I personally dont think anyone else was directly involved in MM abduction I think maybe others were involved in scoping out the apartments with the intention of stealing from them but maybe not aware of his real intentions.

I do think there is some truth to the stolen keys and that may be how he entered the front door. But didnt GM say he couldnt say for sure he locked the door anyway (think maybe I read though that to lock it you just had to pull it closed and it locked itself but could be opened from inside without a key but from outside you needed the key - my door is exactly the same I lock myself out too often).

The photos of his villa I see the dog on the sofa for sure but I dont see the small dog or the small blonde girl. LE will have been over these photos with every bit of technology they have they will know much more than us what was on them and I dont think they would have released an image with a small child on (especially not if it was MM) I dont think they are releasing these photos because they dont know anything about them I think they know plenty they just want it confirmed by a witness.

GM originally stated he thought he'd locked the front door but made a correction in his second statement to PJ that he probably hadn't since they left via the patio doors that night. The lock is as you describe yes, cannot be opened from outside even if it was unlocked. You would need a key or at least some thin tool to go between the door and frame to push the latch down (like when you see people using a credit card on fims although a card wouldnt likely be good enough on a door like this). Although if CB had a key, it wouldn't have mattered whether it was unlocked or not.
