Could he be the caller from Bavaria who gave more info to the police recently?
Because I understand he was quite angry at NF

Apparently, NF also lived at her ex sister-in-law's place while in Foral. (I haven't been able to understand exactly during which period.)
So Mathias sister(?) also lived in Foral?

Question though: would it have been possible back in 2007 to buy a SIM card FOR Portugal but not be IN Portugal at the time of the purchase? Eg: could you have bought a SIM card for it online and had it shipped to wherever you were? I seem to remember we did this when we had to travel abroad... I just got a local SIM card to use when I was over in the other place, but they mailed it to my home before we left. Don't ask me what year that was in though... I'd guess 2008 but don't quote me!

Or, could someone have bought it in Portugal then given it to someone in Germany? Just a thought...

but you did use the sim in the location you bought the sim for, am i correct?
if a person lived in germany, why would they buy a sim card for use in portugal? unless they were going to use the sim at some point in portugal?
also, if a person bought a portuguese network sim, for use in germany, they would be paying international rates for each call to portugal. which sounds a bit odd, doesn't it?

side note: i notice that both mobile numbers are vodafone portugal network numbers.

NF, was in house in foral, rich hubby/partner, she didn't need money, was looking after troubled kids and being paid, so why would she advertise free babysitting?, to get close to young children, legitimately, to take photos?, to kidnap? To get money, but then she managed to steel off them anyway.
It's the free babysitting, that freaks me out here.
Now what's she going to do?, everyone knows what she looks like, will she hide?, will she talk?

That's perfectly possible, but I doubt a Portuguese SIM could be activated first hand in Germany. I think it should be first used in Portugal.

But we don't know if or when he may have travelled to and from Germany prior to 2007

That would have been a reasonable assumption before we knew about CB, although the caller Alison may have been referring to yet another Christian. It's a pity the full transcript of Alison's phone call is not available to us.

Also a possibility, but I'm leaning more toward BP's wife being Mathias sister (if she is!) otherwise they would have written that Nicole was living at her brother-in-law's instead.

You're right. She gave police address of her former sister-in-law. But in report they also say police visited her Foral house and saw nothing suspect after robbery.
