I have 2 sim cards, phone unlocked, one for Ireland and one for Morocco, then I just swap, I would never use the Irish in Morocco so expensive, so could this person have one for Germany and one for Portugal, did they think if call traced it would confuse things for LE ? JMT
EU didn't get rid of roaming charges till 2016. When I had to deal with family in Ireland it was far and away cheaper to buy a cheap pay as you go phone in Ireland. So proper UK smartphone and cheap Irish phone.

Do you mean defamation of character. Deformation is an emgineering / Mathematical term.
Madeleine McCann is in America – and I know who took her

AN INVESTIGATOR has told cops Madeleine McCann was taken to the US — and he
has named two key suspects.

Marcelino Italiano, 36, said she had been snatched by an Algarve-based
paedophile ring. The amateur sleuth added: “They can get away with anything.”

Angolan-born Italiano said the gang of influential and dangerous perverts had
hunted children in the Algarve before smuggling them out of Portugal.

And he told how he had to flee for his life when his investigations threatened
to unmask them.

Italiano, 36, said the ring was based in Faro and Albufeira, but had
high-level contacts in Portugal’s judiciary and links to a legal practice in
London.
I could go along with this to a degree. I was aware of an organized paedophile gang working from Faro. Maybe she was bound for the US but because of her eye condition made this now impossible.
She was transported to somewhere nearer. Maddie's potential as a child for the rich was scuppered.

I've been doing a bit of thinking re where this case can be headed and am still quite fascinated re this Arabic phone call that was intercepted by GCHQ. Has there ever been any more detail on it given since these articles in 2007?

It could be nothing at all and just coincidence but I've always had the impression that they could hold the key to this case. I think a normal person would have discussed the case to their friends and family over the phone and maybe there would have been cases of sharing theories and speculation but the references to the German man have always seemed quite a specific link to make, especially on phone calls that seem deliberately hard to trace.

I don't know if this person has been named but it would be very interesting to see if this is someone who has any links to the number LE are searching for and what the ITV journo has come up with.

One scenario that crosses my mind and fits a lot of dots is actually of a failed trafficking event. CB has contact with a trafficking ring who arrange for a payment to abduct a child and transfer her to Morocco (possibly handing her over in Tarifa or CB taking that leg of the journey itself). For whatever reason though, they'd poorly calculated the heat the abduction would generate and didn't feel confident in completing the journey without any attention, they eventually abandon the plan a couple of weeks later, something new is suggested to get the girl to Holland/Germany where some sicko has a bit of cash that cuts their losses.

CB takes her from his place near Granada (which seems to be so deserted that no one really knows about) north using the coastal route and needs to stop a few times. He's aware that stopping is a massive risk but he's been driving for 6-7 hours, having set off in the middle of the night, he turns off at Alcossebre and takes a break, allowing MM out. Eventually though, they make it to their final destination the next day. CB and others take part in whatever happens and this forms part of German LE evidence (who are not encouraging any specific searches in Portugal).

@Loobyloo
Also in Mendels post 497 he said ex SY policeman was speaking on the SF interview. So unless I’ve picked that post up wrong, we have got to believe he’s alive imo. So if that turns out to be correct, why the obituaries?

It wasn't policeman speaking. It was Austro-Swiss couple telling next neighbor was an English policeman. They didn't name him.

"MADELEINE: RUSSIAN 'IS A SEXUAL PREDATOR'

MALINKA: 'I'm not a criminal,' he said

Friday May 18,2007
By David Piditch and Matt Drake in Praia da Luz

A RUSSIAN computer expert questioned by police searching for Madeleine McCann is reported to have boasted to former colleagues how he had sex with an under-age girl.

Two women who worked with internet geek Sergey Malinka, 22, alleged he was a “sexual predator” who preyed on young girls.

The claims came as it was reported Malinka had phoned prime-suspect Robert Murat just 30 minutes after Madeleine, four, was snatched from her family’s holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in Portugal.

It is understood there were several phone calls between Malinka and Murat, 33, that night. But there is no suggestion that the calls had anything to do with her disappearance.

Yesterday Malinka insisted he was not involved in Madeleine’s kidnap and denied claims he was a paedophile.

He is very clever with computers and knows everything there is to know about them

But a former women colleague at an Algarve internet firm claimed Malinka boasted he had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl.

When she told him he could be arrested she said he simply laughed it off. He also claimed he had seduced the 16-year-old daughter of a Portuguese girlfriend. Another ex-woman work colleague at a different firm told how she found downloaded 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 on his computer. She said: “It was top- shelf stuff, boys’ stuff, blue movies. I didn’t mention it to him.

“He is very clever with computers and knows everything there is to know about them.

“But he is also very cocky and not entirely reliable. He wants to earn big money but doesn’t want to put the work in.”

The search for Madeleine was given fresh hope last night after details emerged of a possible sighting in Lisbon 180 miles north of where she was snatched 15 days ago.

Police revealed last night that they were hunting a red van with fake number plates in a southern suburb after a witness reported seeing a child fitting Maddy’s description. She was taken from her family’s holiday apartment at 9.30pm while her parents, Kate and Gerry, were dining 40 yards away.

Police reportedly put oddball Murat under surveillance after he began to interfere with the police search operation.
It was reported that police have also kept watch on Moscow-born Malinka for at least the last five days.

Yesterday Malinka denied claims he had images of sexual violence on his computer. He said police had returned a laptop and two desktop computers seized from the flat he shares with his parents – half a mile from the McCann’s apartment.

The Russian was released early yesterday after a six-hour quiz. Malinka, who set up a business website for Murat’s property company, denied he had a criminal record.

He said: “The Portuguese press said they found some paedophile content on my computer. That is a lie. Nothing has been found. My equipment has been released and returned to me.“I’m trying to help in any way possible.”

Yesterday Murat’s mother Jennifer was being quizzed over his claim he spent the evening with her the night of the abduction.

Mrs Murat was a key figure in the initial search for Madeleine and played a major part in printing and distributing posters of the child."

We n0w know that his computers were checked and no 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 was found there.
I personally do not suspect him, I think he was investigated thoroughly by PJ, maybe more than anyone else in this case.
Thank you. I'm not interested in him. Just wanted to make the point that having sex with teenage girls doesn't make a man in his early 20s a "paedophile", or unnatural in any way. Many girls in their early teens are physically mature. The age of consent in Portugal is 14, so no crime was committed.
That's all I have to say on the matter.

Why his wife?
It’s irrelevant now.
I think we need to stop discussing the poor guy imo.
It’s fairly obvious his name has been published by mistake.

The age of consent is 14?! Jeezo. Nobody of 14 IMO is even close to making a resposible decision about sleeping with someone

I disagree. Physically mature maybe but in terms of emotional maturity there is a world of difference between an adult in their early 20s and a child of 14 or 16.

Their expectations would be so different that any sexual activity between them would certainly involve an element of grooming, lying, gaslighting and coercion.

As for 🤬🤬🤬🤬 - I doubt very much that it would be legal for them to appear in 🤬🤬🤬🤬. I think that's at least 18 in the UK where the age of consent is 16.

So it is basically an adult and a child.

Yep been teaching for years and the difference between 16 and 18 is collosal. An age of consent of 16 is really a balance between protecting teens from predatory adults that can coerce and confuse them and allowing hopefully healthier interactions with their peers.
