This is about the Braunschweig allotment, not the Hannover one currently under investigation, but in the light of tonight's reports about a tunnel, I hope they'll also be looking under the structures (shed, house) on this one.

Also a general observation: just how many allotments, vans, temporary homes, etc did CB have?! Does make it seem plausible that he would also have multiple victims...

thats my observation too. i cant figure how he financially obtained these.

How public are these allotments? It's one thing to build a tunnel or hostage area in your basement or your own fenced in back yard, but could he really have done that at this garden??

Underground tunnels like those of WWII are so easy to access. You just lift up what look like man-hole grid covers and a metal ladder is revealed. Possibly could be mistaken for Waterwork grids. Follow the tunnel to the next ladder, pop the lid and exit not far from where you entered. We have a similar network of tunnels in the UK that the boys used to go into and reappear from a man hole right outside one of their homes. Very scary IMO. You could probably find the layout of exactly where they are on the internet. X

This is about 1400 metres south of the Ahlem allotment excavation site. Somewhere near here was the entrance of an asphalt mine. In WW2 a camp of slave labour was built near the mine the slaves were forced to widen and drain the tunnels so they could be used for industry. There is a memorial made of asphalt for the many who perished.

A.... the allotment excavation site.
B.... two tents, a generator, and a van, mysteriously in the middle of a field.
C.... memorial, which marks the general area where there was in WW2 the slave labour camp and the entrance to the asphalt mine which was being adapted for industrial purposes .
A to B is about 360m. A to C is about 1400m.

According to the paper he was living in Hannover-Linden in a VW LT camper van in 2010. Nothing interesting in tomorrow's paper, apparently police are not talking to the press at all. The tents on the nearby fields are for police who observe the property at night to make sure nobody is entering, not forensic tents.

It wouldn't be the first time a paper has got it wrong, is there an online version? A screenshot of the article maybe.

Yes, could be toilets, or could be observation tents, but then why would they pitch them 400 meters away? The police van looks like it has some kind of scanning equipment on the roof:

I agree the tents photo is looking south towards the town cemetery however in the photo there are fence and trees to the left. Could the tents be at about 52.385843, 9.650279 ??? (I assume the clear pathways cut through the crop are just temporary features).
