Than

Thanks DLK79. Has some kind person made a timescale back in the threads too? No need to look, just if you remember reading it - I'll look:)
@sleuth-d- posted one a few threads back in 4 parts.

I understand that this is currently a fast-moving situation, but it would be helpful to this thread if posters read back before posting a comment - in the past few days there have been numerous tweets and comments duplicated by others, often hours apart. JMO
In an ideal world - yes but I suspect a lot of people including myself, dip in and out and due to the fact that there's been a multitude of Threads since I was last here, and also due to questions coming up as new stories emerge, it's natural to post and ask.
I agree though that at least a few pages should be read before anyone posts. And kudos to everyone who's been sleuthing over the last few months!

It’s a sad case, for sure, Snowpea.
However, this is pure sensationalism by the media based on one photo of a lady rubbing her eye lol. In July. In a wooded area. With lots of pollen and debris flying about the place. I sincerely doubt these highly-trained officers are standing around crying when they’re just digging up some land. Remember, we don’t know what they’re looking for.
yeh true, typical media, I guess I have to keep more skeptical when it comes to what they say, Grrrr so frustrating for all of us xx

The small house with the cellar location mentioned in Madeleine McCann investigators resume digging at German allotment | Daily Mail Online

The very corner plot, the house is missing.

You can draw a straight line from the cellar Point A, through Point B and to what I think might be the tunnel entrances at point C on @redplanet post.

Could the cellar connect to the tunnel system?

Oh, I agree, I know - and I expect to see posted repeating things that were discussed weeks ago -
but it's just irritating when you open three or four links thinking it's new info, but it turns out to be something posted twice already in the past few hours! :)

You’re only human, Snowpea, and it’s a very emotive case. That was in no way a criticism of you, the red tops just fry my head - there’s so much more that can be reported, factual news about what’s happening at the scene - but they have one photo of one lady rubbing her eye and suddenly all these hardened German officers are standing around crying?
They’re playing on everyone’s emotions because they know what saying that implies x

I'm confused (understatement)
Especially at this stage when we don't really know that much about CB and what we do know is fragmented. If he's committed serious crimes, possibly spanning a lot of years and also been in prison for various other lesser crimes; moved around - a lot, however keeping to some kind of pattern ie Portugal/ Germany then how has he kept under the radar (for years) for potentionally very serious crimes?

Oh no, I know Betty you weren't, you are right about the red tops, anything to sell a story! My mum passed recently and we have followed this since 07, and she always said the same about the red tops, take what they say with a pinch of salt ! wise woman x

Speaking to MailOnline, Mr Kossack said: ‘Christian Brueckner had the garden next to mine. He arrived in 2007 and left within a year. He told me that he living off the grid, that he had not registered with the authorities – no one knew he was there.

‘He never did any gardening. He did not plant anything or try to grow anything. He just sat around drinking beer.

‘At the time there was a building on the garden. It was a small wooden structure with only one room to keep tools and other things but it had a kitchen.

‘The building was not really a house, you might call it a shed. But it had a cellar and underneath there would be foundations. This building was destroyed in 2008.’

The retired electrician said he remembered Brueckner took it over in 2007 because the allotments had only been handed out by the local authorities the year before.

Brueckner’s plot of land was originally owned by someone else before it was passed onto the convicted rapist.

Mr Kossack, who has tended his own parcel of land since 2006, said Brueckner disappeared in 2008 and he never saw him again.

‘Sometimes a young woman would be there with him,’ he said. ‘She seemed to be his girlfriend. ‘He had two dogs – a big one and a small one – who were quite annoying. They would come into my garden to do their business.

Before Brueckner left, he talked about his time outside of Germany. ‘Brueckner said he preferred southern Europe because he liked the warm weather and said he would go back there,’ his neighbour said.

‘He did not say which country. He had a VW Transporter van and parked it next to the allotment and lived in the vehicle.

‘The van was registered in Hannover but Brueckner had not paid the tax on the vehicle.

‘I asked Bruecker what he did for a job. He said he was a car mechanic. I asked him why he didn’t repair his own van because it was always leaking diesel onto the ground. He said he would get around to it sometime.’

That's a good point, but isn't it so often the case that someone is caught for a minor crime and then - weirdly - everything starts to come out? Also not uncommon for someone to be the agent of their own demise by spilling the beans. Hubris is a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.

True. It's baffling and also very sad (victims) when/if it happens that way.

Augsburg with AB. Orgiva to see MT. Barao de Sao Joa at the raves. Plus possible links to Malaga, praia do barranco and praia da boca do rio.

I’m guessing the woman with him who the neighbour saw was NF.

Would one drive close by to Valencia to get to Hannover from PDL?

I guess part of the issue is that cases like this, where the abductor/possible murderer is a total stranger, then it's hard for the police to find the needle in a haystack without much evidence or witnesses. If there's no DNA match or no DNA, then all the more difficult.
In this case, it is sheer luck and probable police incompetence that he has got away with it for so long.

It's always brilliant when times/years can be pinpointed accurately like this
