If only the antiMcCann trolls could understand this.

You're right. It was the only reliable material evidence they found and it can hardly be used in court.

@Tekno - Re your earlier post in which you posted side-bys, got to say, that is the first and only e-fit I've seen over the entire course of this 13yr old case that actually really (and almost uncannily) looks like it could be the actual real person it references.

Thanks for taking the time/trouble to post them.
Thank you, Anxala. I have been studying JB for two years now and there is just something that leads me to believe/consider a possible connection.

Is ‘PanikSpatz’ a commonly used German phrase? I did find a weird guy with that username - his FB friends were all online prostitutes.

No, it isn't a common phrase IMO.

If I understand it, he went to the Algarve, Santa Clara and Portimão and was in CB's house. I couldn't find Santa Clara in Google Maps.

ETA: it must be "Albufeira da Barragem de Santa Clara", which fits his description, 100km north of Algarve and a large dam. It's not clear to me if he was there with CB. If so, that would be an area CB would know well.
Hi Mendel, I found this on GE.

Maddie prime suspect 'capable of taking child', partner-in-crime says

Both HB and MS have tried to distance themselves from CB claiming they were never friends with him, to me that’s suspicious as I feel they are trying to avoid any suspicion. In this article it says they found a gun at CBs and threw it into a lake which I found odd? It just seems like a weird group of people. In the Speigel TV interview, MS said he was too cowardly to break into homes but in this article it says his nickname was ‘the climber’ as he was able to climb into peoples hotel rooms and homes to commit burglaries.

Cool, Tekno. Thanks. That's where I thought, "Albufeira da Barragem de Santa Clara".

It says they called CB the climber, not MS.

I was intrigued about MS describing seeing CB for the first time after the MM abduction turning up at a festival in 2008 with the big Winnebago. It sounds remarkably similar to how MT describes seeing CB for the first time after MM turning up at festival in 2007. I wonder if there is some mix up here and they are actually talking about the same event? It was a long time ago after all and recollections can get muddled.

Why does the luxury of time not confer advantages?

What advantage does it confer then?

The case isn't going to disappear.

We don't know what evidence they have nor what exactly they're looking for.

I think we agree that we believe MM was dead within hours of her abduction and that what happened is too horrific to contemplate .

I'm sure that has been the opinion of every experienced investigator officially involved in the search - i.e. not in a position to speculate publicly and not GA. The stats were ever against her..

They have all officially stuck to the one known fact which is that it is a missing person case.

So why have German LE gone one further and said she's dead? The same requests for info could have been made about CB as a suspect involved in the known fact of her disappearance

The things they've said added to the risks to their global reputaton suggest they have a lot. They just need more or possibly want more.

.

Again, I doubt this is some kind of clever tactic to keep the evidence from the defence. They simply don't have enough evidence to confront the defence with.

What however remains odd, is to publicly claim CB is guilty of murder, despite lacking such evidence.

Frankly, extraordinary. I struggle to come up with a formulation where conviction of guilt is so high, despite lacking evidence to charge.

it is a huge contradiction just like FF says.

I am wondering if it is something technical, like their evidence is inadmissible for some reason.

Really? But that's been known for years! Why on earth would that still be doing the rounds (June 2020) as a potential clue that might lead to a conviction?!

ETA. Although I see now the link is the Sun so that probably answers my question. Never mind.

Articles about "retesting" samples are likely nonsense. The profile already exists. German police would only need to compare their profile against the test results.

An actual retest is unlikely and in many cases not possible if the same was small in the first place.

DLK
MT told that CB was come to visit him in Spain, end of May beginning June. About 3 weeks after Madeleine disappeared

IF MS was sleeping at the farmhouse in a camper van then this would have been early 2006 at the latest. no?. A year later would fit that it was after the Dragon Festival in May/June 2007 that CB met MT, with the motorhome and a dog called Charlie, but MT does not mention a young girl.

Ha! Just like the dog evidence! Poor trolls!

Perhaps controversially, if I am FF, and CB is ever charged, I would be producing the dog evidence in Court. It's like a prepack defence, placing a high evidential burden on the prosecution to dispose of it.

This is my greatest interest in the case. How will HCW prove death, but also disprove competing theories, of which there have been so many.

How is death proved with no forensics and no body?

In other no body cases, the police usually had some forensics.

Due to a confession to or from a possible "bombshell witness/accomplice" we still do not know, because the media can't grab him (already convicted paedo/murderer?!) and that want's to get some better possiblity for an earlier future release.

That in interaction to confiscated footage of sexual preferences of the suspect in the past.

Maybe....

Which I’m assuming is why no charges as yet :(

I agree, MT was also said to have stayed in a van outside the farmhouse in early 2006, before he and CB were jailed. Makes sense that MS might have been there at the same time.

The article is ambiguous though, it says:

They say that Brueckner, who left Germany for Portugal in 1995 after serving jail time for a child sex offence, then left Portugal and returned to Germany shortly after Maddie went missing.

That tallies with an account given by Seyferth, who claims to have lived inside a camper van parked next to a farmhouse that Brueckner rented in the Algarve.

He says Brueckner upped and left after the schoolgirl's disappearance, and that he didn't see him again until a year later, at a hippie festival in Spain.

'He turned up in a big American camper van and was with a young girl, she looked about 15 and he would have been double her age,' he said.

I presume they mean MM when they say schoolgirl so that makes it sounds like it was a year after MM went missing which would have been 2008. Seems more likely that MS and MT were together at the Orgiva festival in 2007 though and that is what he is referring to.
