I have something niggling in the back of my mind and can't recall it properly and can't find it yet...but does anyone remember watching the documentary that came out (I think the one the parents weren't aware of beforehand) and it mentioned something about the hotel restaurant.

It was along the lines of an employee writing something on a notebook / or paper (I believe something innocent ) like about parents dining with no kids or something like that. I could be remembering it completely wrong but throwing it out in case any of you remember.

I'll keep looking for it.

MOO

ETA I believe the Netflix documentary. Will try find the transcript.
I thought it was the reservations book in the restaurant which lay open, the group had made a block booking for the same time each evening for the entire holiday & had requested a table near to pool so to check on their sleeping children....this message was written next to each of their bookings. Imo at least one person associated to ocean club was involved in Maddies disappearance.

I read earlier that despite some reports claiming he hasn’t proffered any information, they haven’t actually questioned him yet.

Thinking about that, it makes complete sense. No way is he going to admit to anything, so what's the point.

Instead, he's just like us, hearing it through the news but not knowing what they have, or who of his old croney's will talk. Police want him to sweat: if they question him, that might reveal what they don't know (assuming he's guilty).

What they really want is for him, if guilty, to tell them where MM is. Techniques for that kind of questioning are well worked out: after a long session you hit the subject with irrefutible proof, and offer some reason why they should confess.

This Foral and the children's home story is quite chilling. What was his association there?
Christian Brueckner 'terrorised residents of Portuguese village by regularly carrying a gun' | Daily Mail Online

Yes very chilling indeed, seems he was friends with Nicole ( the woman who has been referred to as social worker) & her partner. Apparently there were small girls there as well as youths. Seems more than probable these older girls were sexually exploited at the hands of the individuals who were supposed to be taking care of them, the neighbours seem to know a lot, I’m really surprised that no one anonymously reported their suspicions with the seriousness of it all. It could be that the social worker story was just fed to the locals to explain the children being there, more likely they were victims snatched/lured by CB & his cronies. Thinking of the video of the teenager and the older woman being raped, could it be perhaps the pregnant teenager who fled who was returned home by CB?

Brückner ran a kiosk in Braunschweig from 2012 to 2014. One day in the latter year, friends and a co-worker spoke about Maddie MacCann's disappearance. ,, He completely freaked out, wanted us to stop and then shouted: that child is dead and ready!

You can make a body disappear quickly.

After all, pigs also eat human meat, '' 34-year-old Lenta Jolitz told the German Sunday newspaper.

I wonder, the DM pays generously for juicy stories full of rumour and speculation.

This guy appears to have no MO. His mentioned potential victims have been in all age ranges. His crimes are also numerous. This is a strange one for sure. Totally unconventional, for want of a better word.
Yes. Sadly, he reminds me of that sick vile man, who kidnapped/killed a 9 yr old girl from a family wedding in France. Turns out he has killed before but in very different circumstances and different MO. Some predators are totally opportunistic.

From the link:

Brueckner had been arrested in Portugal in 2017 and extradited to Germany to serve 15 months in prison for child sexual abuse and possession of child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.

He was eligible for release in August 2018, but the German authorities were desperate for him to remain behind bars for drug trafficking. Under extradition law, Portugal had to give its consent and it is claimed the Portuguese authorities did not do so in time – meaning Brueckner was released.

Detectives first tried to covertly track his movements but he soon realised that he was under surveillance. The officers then began openly following him.

‘We stood in front of his house at night, walked beside him when he was out, and talked to him,’ said an investigator.

Brueckner went to the Netherlands, where the Dutch police who took over surveillance lost him. From there he fled to Italy, where he was arrested a month later and extradited back to Germany where he was convicted of the 2005 rape of a pensioner

Wow. They really kept a tight leash in this guy.

There are psychopaths and there are psychopaths that go beyond. He's definitely the latter.
That bolded portion is very frustrating. This creep has been sexually assaulting women and children since he was a teenager. 25 years later, he is still doing so, and when caught once again, for child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 and sexual abuse of a child, he only gets fifteen months? And probably half that only for 'good behavior...

I wonder which friend of CB was the identikit one who was alleged to be tall, blonde and had green eyes? They spoke English together.
I can't find which article I read it in, but apparently a witness reported seeing two men outside the apartment the night before the kidnapping. I think one spoke German and the other was Dutch. They were seen lurking around as if they were watching the apartment.

Was that the same night KM was talking about when Madeleine asked, "Why didn't you come when we were crying last night?"

I wondered if they woke the children up and they were scared. Or maybe tried to open the window.

I am sceptical this will go anywhere.

Any serious investigation would surely require heavy on the ground work from PJ? Yet they say not much is happening and all this was looked at before.

Meanwhile the media is contacting witnesses and publishing details which could compromise witness evidence
I hope you are wrong, mrjitty...but from knowing you from past cases, you are usually spot on...so sadly, you may be correct.

I really really want this case to be solved and I want her to be brought back home, from wherever she has been all this time...

"Strong enough reasons to be able to charge him were never found."

That^^^ is not a very convincing argument, imo.
I would take what the Portuguese police say with a pinch of salt.

Not to mention following and photographing his poor mother who has nothing to do with any of this
Did you see the photos of the press stalking her while she brought some food for some stray cats :(
