There's no doubt there are similarities and although we need to be careful, ie. they could be the same coincidental behaviors as MN, or one 'could' go as far as saying 'copycat' or having been 'inspired' - but that's speculation on my part.

If reports are true that MN used to work in portugal for evangelic children care, he could likely had access to a portugese phone number, as this way to communicate has been much cheaper, because of the roaming fares at the time.

Not sure of location of where MN “ worked “ in childcare , but even if not same exact location as NF , perhaps possibility they had contact through being within separate sub-parts of a wider childcare program .

To keep NF as a accomplice seems to be far fetched to me. But of course, caring about children in portugal for money must have been someones idea!

AFAIK, around the middle of the 2000s, he came more and more often into focus of child abuse and even lost a job because of it. In 2006 he tried to blackmail another paedo. Seems like he needed money.

But it's all more assumption than a fact.

Thanks Peanut, yes we have discussed before - I was sceptical about a link back then and still am now, but similarities are difficult to ignore, MN's been mentioned in The Sun again and apparently MN's cellmate mentioned MN had knowledge of MM , so a little more info (or could be nonsense) has re-ignited the conversation .

I wish the Sun article would say what month of 2017 this incident in Portimao was. Then we could sleuth Portimao in that month. At least it does tell us he had also been there a week earlier, and provides a useful photo of the soup kitchen location.

CB was extradited from Portugal to Germany during June 2017 so the incident with the lady in the soup kitchen didn't occur in the latter half of the year. Do we know the precise date he was extradited?
