The witness made this alleged identification (that a man she saw in 2007, in a PdL bar, and also in a PdL supermarket, was MN) not in the first 12 years, but IMO made it only in May 2019 IMO upon seeing a MN photo in the S.Mirror.

That’s probably correct analysis indeed .
Of course still chance that person worker saw is as they perceived ie. MN...they may not have even heard of MN or knew what he looked like , until seeing the article in 2019 ...but could of course have been someone else...
Is notable that the witness said it was MN “ for a fact “ and that they “ have a very good memory for faces “ ...imo..
Hopefully this year eventually many things will become clearer for this case ..!

Have just been testing my own memory in this respect..I was at local supermarket 2 days ago and can't remember a single thing about anyone that was there..no-one looked unusual...nothing unusual happened..
However I can right now remember fairly clearly the appearance of a man I saw sitting at a bar in Nuremberg (was abroad through work ) about 12 years ago...he just looked a bit of an eccentric character...and I can still picture him...even though nothing unusual happened..
Point is I think sometimes people can remember others from a long time back if they stood out somehow...or a big event happened at that time perhaps....and this is saved somewhere in memory better than insignificant recent events..
Could reinforce the sighting in question...but who knows..?

Just had a thought about what possibly helped motivate CB to take/abuse in situ MM during which some of us think was originally intended to be just a burglary.
All his computers, camera's and presumably his '🤬🤬🤬🤬 stash' was trashed whilst he was in prison. As far as we know he had no other access, in Portugal to child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 at the time, or in prison for that matter.
Taking into consideration that the profiler Mark Hoffmann, described this as an 'obsession' - so imo would be like a 'drug' to CB.
Did this deprivation also influence his decision to take MM I wonder?

What the 2 sisters said about the 2 men on balcony

"I told them they were blond and one had curly hair. One was stockier than the other and they had obviously just opened the gate and walked up to the balcony.

Men seen lurking near flat ‘may have planned Madeleine McCann's kidnap’

If considering that these 2 may have been CB and MN , then I would suggest CB to be the “ curly “ haired one - his hair not curly from public images , but often bit “ wavy “ .....and MN to be the “ stocky “ one - various articles about him say he put on weight compared to younger years. imo .

He had other stuff buried when police was looking for IG, so after he lost it all, then he got more, don't know what my point is, but he couldn't live without it? My only train of thought

And I'm sure I mentioned previously, did he commit stuff after being released from prison?

ETA My post above is referring to his time in prison for the diesel theft.

Yes, so he could have had some already in Germany and accumulated a lot more over the years. But I was thinking of the stash he must have lost in Portugal after he went to prison for diesel theft. The computers, hard drives etc that were thrown away and the other stuff that HB and MS cleared out.

First you should re-check your facts. CB did sell the Westfalia campervan that was in ALGARVE shortly after our little Inga went missing. di
2nd ask from me.
Still waiting for the source that proves the 'fact' that CB sold the VW after May - not before May in 2015 as you say @vermisstekindersuche?
Which month was it sold from May-Dec in that year?

Answers on a postcard please.

Agreed..
Speaking generally about investigations , I should imagine if anyone ( maybe some here already have been ) ...could be a fly on the wall of a major police inquiry ( MM certainly that ) ..would probably be astonished at the range and depth of research into seemingly unrelated and obscure information that goes on . One only needs to watch docs / accounts related to previous big cases to get a feel of that..eg. details of where and how things are made , life histories of people not even main suspects etc...etc..
It surprises me somewhat how readily some here would appear to want to dismiss discussion of things that actually seem fairly relevant to this thread , never mind more obscure things that I have mentioned above .
Of course we’re all entitled to opinions , but there have been other large cases , eg. Yorkshire Ripper , where things were initially dismissed , by police even , as being irrelevant , and turned out not to be .
Until facts are known , is it not best to be a bit more open minded to certain lines of enquiry ?
I completely agree. As previously posted I have for a long time, many threads back, thought that MN is involved in this case but whenever I pushed there was not much enthusiasm for this theory

And PdL had two Vodafone masts in May 3, 2007.

Any idea for how long phone records might go back for in other areas of Portugal that police could still access today ?..would there still be data police could see from say Foral or something from 2007 for example ?

It may only be 6 years?
The call CB had, they know the other number, but think they said was not in the area, don't know more than that, but it was earlier said was ex Kosovan girlfriend, but then a worker from OC and also said another paedo, but they asked for phone logs at some point after mm went missing, so that's why they have them, and it was just from PDL area, sorry I don't have anything more than that, maybe someone on her knows what area that covered, whether that would Inc floral, floral may not have its own masts (whatever they are called).

I say 6 years, due to data protection laws etc

I thought there was something in the start of the thread saying that the phone call was from Lisbon - will look

For someone who understands German law. Could CB sue Wolters for defamation or is he covered by absolute privilege. I was surprised that on the Mark S podcast Wolters actually at one point referred to his suspect as Mr Breukner
