I’ve followed this for a long time but rarely had the confidence to post. I do wonder whether MM was already dead when taken from that room. Does that seem like a possibility to anyone else?

I like this particular theory. It has been discussed at length on this forum. Please search the posts of Dlk76, that Welshman has some very compelling thoughts on it.

Impossible... He had a few minutes to get her and leave...No way...If your theory is right, then where is the evidence in the apt. 5A? If so, PJ could have solved it that same night in 2007....The dogs were wrong, they were prepared in advance...Can you believe a barking dog? They bark all the time....

Let’s be honest, no one on this thread actually knows what happened at this stage but it looks increasingly likely we will get to know - I’m hopeful.

You seem to be stating facts in your post i.e. he (presumably CB) and only a few minutes. Please be cautious here as you don’t know it was CB and you have no idea how long any perp was in the apartment.

please read DLk’s posts, if you still think it’s impossible no worries.

I was more headed in a different direction.

What if CB, as the killer knows something that only the killer could know and has revealed it in his confession(s). It might be for example, the length of time he was in the apartment and how he exited.

But what if that is impossible to reconcile with the established timeline? I don't wish to dredge through the timeline detail all over again, but IMO Redwood already headed in this direction on Crimewatch if a tactful way by tossing tannerman in the dustbin. But it is hard to reconcile what Redwood said with any of versions. (I trust Redwood to be correct on this)

I also find it interesting HCW has expressed zero interest in timeline stuff. I wondered if that is because his case depends on what happened later but now I wonder if it is because CB confessed how it happened?

I think its more likely that the timeline can't be exact to the minute etc, but it I don't really think that matters too much

Yepp, but she hasn't been found there. But it's close to Barragem de Bravura either. There have been reports of this ominous letter at the door of 5A.

Let's say that BKA do believe that CB was on MM rented room and they have for example photos found on CB computers/memory sticks of the MM rented apartment and BKA does believe that CB was there before and they suspect for example that CB might have been on the room and masturbate like he stated that he had done with other teenagers while sleeping at their rented house, now BKA does want for PJ to send them the samples that PJ believe to be "milk" from previous occupants of the apartment so that they can check if in fact it's not CB semen, will the PJ supply them what they want if they can't provide clear evidence that CB was inside the apartment and knowing already the results of the labs on the time the tests were done ?

BKA only needs for PT to cooperate if they don't have anything solid on CB. If it's something like photos of MM under abuse on the apartment or if they can find DNA/Body of MM outside Portugal then they don't need PT PJ for anything else.

Problem might be if 1) They don't want to open the game telling what they have and 2) They need to search for a body on PT or something else like requesting data that only PJ can access like phone records, etc.

Goes without saying that if all the recent news were to be true about pedophile networks with links to CB they will not need any extra help from PJ as the investigating is done worldwide, but goes without saying I'm 100% positive the latest news (about this case) are all "fake" (more phone records about CB on PT and link from latest busts of Darkweb pedo networks related to MM).

I still think we are missing something fundamental here.

Why isn't HCW, with the help of the Met, using the parent's strong media power to help gather info? It's just an obvious step. None of this has ever made sense to me, but i can't begin to imagine what I am missing.

Another thing that baffles me is that if BKA is so in need for public help why is the appeal web page to supply information regarding CB so badly designed and useless ?

I bet no-one noticed this yet but if someone does want to provide info regarding MM case / CB using the appeal webpage of the BKA they will almost likely not be able to do anything of use because 1) It's impossible to attach files so one can only write text (one would imagine for example that BKA would want to collect photos sent by people) and 2) The word limit that you can use is so low that you can't even introduce yourself without exceeding the limit of words that you are allowed to write to submit to the BKA less alone write something significant ... Moral of the story that way to submit info simply doesn't work and it's quite strange for BKA that does want so badly info about CB not to have something on-line that does work for that effect...

People know the importance of the "something that only the killer would know" from police movies and other cases but on MM case this doesn't work and it's not that simple. Because "something that only the killer would know" must be something that police do know as well and no-one else knows. This apply when police do find a body, know how the victim was killed and no-one else except the killer knows.
On MM case we have PUBLIC AVAILABLE DVDs with PJ files on MM case that anyone can access and police don't have a body.
Even if CB did confess and stated "I KILLED MM" and stated for example "I stabbed her with a knife" how would BKA confirm or deny ? Relevance of "something that only the killer would know" only apply if police does know more than general public and know specific stuff that only killer would know. Also CB can tell "I took MM from the apartment when she was sleeping" so what, the entire world knows that as well so it's not something that only the killer would know and everyone with DVDs of MM process file can get a huge amount of details so this is not easy for BKA.
If BKA did had something like a photo/video of CB abusing MM it would be indeed something that only them and CB would know but that would be enough, they would present that to court and CB would be charged. If BKA doesn't know if they can charge CB with what they have then most likely it's not something that only the killer would know ...
