. That in this resort he is charged with maintaining the pools and all that is related to the lodgings;

Questioned, the deponent states that in the scope of his functions and the day before the disappearance of the child, he only came into contact with the mother of the same, whose name he does not know;

The deponent states that short of that service does not know of any other work carried out in the apartment since the arrival of that family in the resort and the disappearance of the girl;
. Questioned, the deponent states that days before the disappearance of the little girl, no one spoke to him strangely about the tourists, the children which accompanied them or other facilities of the resort. He also did not hear conversations of this nature with other persons;
. Regarding the presence of people or persons which presented with a strange conduct near the resort, in the past with special attention to the disappearance of the child, the deponent states that he noted nothing abnormal;
. States that only about four months ago he noticed the presence of three gypsies close to a resort warehouse, situated close to the Millenium Restaurant, who were taking existing firewood from there;
. The deponent knows that in that resort zone, as it is a zone of warehouse and also little traffic, it is frequented by individuals of gypsy origin looking for scrap;
. Various robberies have already occurred in this zone and the deponent is of the conviction that the authors of these crimes are individuals of gypsy ethnicity whose identification he does now know;
. Questioned, the deponent states that since the disappearance of the girl Madeleine, until today, he has heard no commentaries that could help clarify the motive for the disappearance, and as this, does not have more information that could help to this end;

the questions were targeted.... why did the PJ not ask him of any other people working in the maintenance of the OC?

The head of maintenance and services, in the area of services, is responsible for the admission of employees and, in the area of maintenance, is responsible for the admission of employees and the good functioning of all equipments of the Ocean Club, including : flats, swimming pools, gardens, fences, etc.

minimum of six months. A special form is filled that includes all the data identifying the employee and sometimes informations about his/her previous professional occupation.
The exception is when you hire a company to provide a service : that company is responsible for its employees, who are nevertheless under the eye of the head of works and maintenance, Mr. Joao Carlos Silva Batista .

Is he the person who helped fix the blind too? Or just has the same name as another worker who did the pools? I'm confused.

Sorry I should have been more clear in my writing.

I meant that perhaps after seeing reports in 2013 regarding the pool friend of CB who'd contacted authorities, the Express might have assumed it was one of the OC employee's who had called in then the Express run a story.

I think if CB was a contractor it may have been someone completely different who'd called in 2013 IMO. (The person who'd helped run a pool cleaning service with him / business partner?)

-CB told his British ex-gf the night before, May 2, that he had a terrible job to do in PdL on May 3.
-he called his other ex-gf NF on the same day, May 3, to tell her he would drive all the way from Tomar to her place, 200 miles away, but she does not remember either seeing him that day nor the morning after
- NF has called him/talked to him on May 3, so she should know which mobile phone he was using that day
- the phone number belonging to CB at the time pinged in PdL
- nobody can confirm his whereabouts on the night of the 3rd
- he is said to have been a robber/known as the 'climber'. He had indeed climbed up to his other British ex-gf's flat.
- NF claimed that he told her he liked pre-puberty girls
- chat in Sept 2013 with another convicted sex offender where he expressed his desire/plans or whatever you might call this to kidnap and torture a small girl/child, mentioning how the evidence could be destroyed afterwards.
- one of the witnesses identified him from photos as the man seen lurking in OC, (in 2020).
- produced vile videos and photos, hidden in his box factory
-was summoned in 2013 in Germany, and he gave his whereabouts for the month of May 2007. could be corroborated and most probably has been checked by the BKA.
-he is being investigated on suspicion for his part in MM's murder since 2017 by the BKA.

It's surreal how an errant and a monster like this burglar and rapist was not caught easier and faster. Even more absurd how there was not, there is not any forensic evidence or even a clue to the body. Infinite shame to Police forces. Not only the ridiculous PJ...

MT was/is still in touch with MS, HB's good friend. MS was aware that HB had spoken to Metropolitan police and probably told MT, given their criminal activities in Portugal around 2007.

this is absolutely true - especially when these witnesses do not have a clean past or present... this does not mean that their findings were unknown to the BKA but still shows that sometimes media research can aid investigations.

You can't look behind somebodys forehead and he is just one of many others. So don't be terrified but always vigilant!

oh definitely, I completely agree - but it appears like there won't be any forensics' revelations... I blame the whole botched investigation to PJ - but there is nothing that can be done to change that unfortunately.
