Lack of real information inevitably causes people to form there own views on the snippets and the actions of HCW - some see his apparent lack of progress and conflicting updates as signs of strategic execution. I don’t. I think that what we’re hearing in the media reflects problems.
I disagree that my views show impatience. Sensational claims were made by HCW over two years ago and he has claimed he has enough evidence to charge for a year. Nevertheless, there is no charge.
If you think about your six points. Kindly, 1 to 3 are irreverent if he had the evidence to charge in October 21. Point 4, while also unnecessary, would certainly strengthen the case but there is no signs of them even searching, it may never be found. Number 5 is yet to be seen, it’s another example of HCW providing a timeline and not meeting it. Number 6, is there really a source that provides good reason for us to believe it has any link to MM… any statement from anyone within German LE?
Let’s hope that HCW and the BKA really do have the goods on CB. It really is the worst outcome if the German investigation ends up being shelved.
Thanks for your thoughts. I tend to agree and would add
1. A german prosecutor must wait until his/her case meets the standards for prosecution - i.e likelihood of success. Not charging tends to indicate the case is at best borderline.
2. While taking the time to get the case right before charging makes sense, that logic can only be taken so far. What exactly would HCW's team be waiting for or working on 2 years later? Especially when HCW now says an indictment may not be possible?
The germans started working on this case long before they went public. More than two years have passed since the public appeal - this begins to feel more like they are still looking for the break in the case, rather than simply analysing evidence.
