I remember now but didn’t think it was 2018.

In the article is says that the police came talking about a murder and Maddie. That doesn’t sound like the evidence of her death was found there.

What does it say in the Discovery doco about the search?

ETA: the search was 11 years after CB left AB’s house. Would they have found anything? Didn’t sound like CB was ever planning to go back there.
The doco doesn't say much at all about that search. Just what Frank mentions really. (I was thinking what you're thinking too. The car registration was in 2007. Search was in 2018. Apparently stuff was still there. Strange)

It’s quite obvious that they have shared information with the wrong people and without the necessary safeguards but whose fault is that?
it’s the faul of the agency that leaked to the civilian obviously

I can’t recall seeing anything about this but Discovery+ isn’t available in Asia.

Did it say where the apartment was? Did CB ever live there It would seem a bizarre place to stash something because it might be easy to find and difficult to retrieve at a later date.
It was a room he was staying in - in a friend’s apartment in Germany. I’ll try to find a picture of the evidence seized list. I know that usbs, personal photos & bank statements from 07 Portugal were amongst the items listed.

Perhaps but they can still be critical which they aren’t. If you can find something from the UK press that paints them in a negative light in the last ten years, please share it. This is not because I want to see negative things written about them but I don’t think such an article exists - and I think this is unusual.
what specifiic criticisms would you have expected to read?

Can these now be submitted as evidence?

Strange how just one day later after CB was outed as prime suspect even though at the time he wasn't named by the BKA ,a witness had his story ready for the press.
Yes, a German witness. Kind of makes you think that someone within the BKA or prosecutors office is leaking information to the British press.

This must be either that they have an issue in being able to conduct a confidential investigation or they wanted to start building a public case that CB was someone capable of abducting and murdering MM.

There has been much support for the integrity and thoroughness of the German investigation on this forum. I’ll choose to remain sceptical.

Thanks for sharing Hygge. How is it known that these items were found at AB’s place?

Do you think it’s impossible that the witness contacted the British press directly to sell his story the moment the BKA made their announcement?

Unlikely rather than impossible. More likely that UK media found him. IMO

I wonder if it was a UK exclusive or whether he spoke with the German media first…

Yes, I think he wrote the article himself and took the photo’s, it was all ready to go for the DM.

They had it already imo The big announcement on June 4 was a surprise only to the little people sat at home. The giants of the media knew about it all before that date I'm sure. Der Spiegel TV most of all.
