Could well be lights, I thought the same in the picture at the beach. They look like lights facing backwards... But forwards in the Málaga photo?

Yes, they look like they have been threaded through the boot, on wires, probably linked up to the rear lights some how.

Anyway, I had only added that in for fun, I didn’t think it would become a discussion lol. Sorry for derailing things!

• 1992-present: portuguese plate has the issue date on it. right hand side on yellow.
• malaga photo is covering portuguese plate.
• see issue date on Amaral photo attached... 02/07... FEB 2007
so, assuming the 'photoshop blanking' is covering the portuguese plate, we can say the Malaga photo was taken sometime after feb 2007.

dates are narrowing down, and getting closer to may 2007 imo.

Vehicle registration plates of Portugal - Wikipedia

Agree, good research there.

Registered in Feb 2007 with graffitti.
MM May 2007
Before or after that van had a white paint job.
Jag re registered next day after MM and taken back to Germany sometime in May 2007
CB left Portugal and arrived in Germany with Winnebago in May 2007
Westfalia taken to scrap yard and sold to German owner in 2015. (why go back to Portugal?)
I wonder where the Westfalia was from 2007-2015?

They could also be driver assist mirrors.

You may already have this, ignore if already been posted.....................

"He was charged after police caught him driving his Jaguar in Lagos near Praia da Luz in breach of a confiscation order in January 2004.

He was allowed to keep the German-plated vehicle after being stopped for using a disabled parking bay - but told he could not use it because he had failed to put it on Portuguese plates despite living on the Algarve.Christian B tried to escape punishment by falsely claiming afterwards he was a tourist and said he was simply helping out friends at a bar in Lagos where police said they had spotted him working.

He ended up receiving a £270 (€300) fine after a 2006 trial for disobedience when a court ruled he had lied about not understanding a banning order on using the Jaguar because of language difficulties.Police told court officials they had no record of him having any other vehicles, but a subsequent search thought to be linked to non-payment of the fine and ordered in January 2008, revealed his ownership of the Opel Ascona and Mercedes-Benz van."

Maddie suspect had 2 other vehicles not found by cops at time she vanished

I posted this info a few threads ago. It didn't get any attention, but it's very relevant IMO

HCW has always said they believe shes dead, right from the very first public announcement he did. he said something at a later date along the lines of 'obviously with no body there might be a slim chance she is still alive' and i think this got twisted massively by the MSM to make out he was backtracking but he wasn't if you read the context it was said in... then after that he again came on the record to clear things up and say they had seen evidence Madeleine was dead.

>>>> straight from the horses mouth, speaking english, that they have enough evidence to know Madeleine is dead and that CB killed her.
Thanks for clarifying that @Kikixxxx Do you think CB will ever stand trial or will he do an Epstein, particularly if he was a broker as well as a practitioner?
Would some names that would come out in trial perhaps be embarrassing?

  • #727
Also, I think he made that statement about there being a slight chance she was alive right after the McCann's lawyer made the remark about him not sharing the evidence with them, and that they wanted to see the proof that Madeliene was dead.

He is probably in a very difficult position because he can't reveal the evidence that links CB to the crime.

I think it may be that in Germany it is harder to convict no body cases than it is in the US and maybe other countries. They may have plenty of circumstantial evidence such as cell phone data, witness statements and videos or photographs, but still need that one piece of evidence that will ensure a conviction.

Imo
That's interesting. I thought the McCanns had gone on record saying they were not using a lawyer or a spokesperson and that all Comms would come via their official website.
Thanks for clearing that up @MsBetsy.

i wondered what he meant by 'parts' too when i first heard it, but i think he was just being literal. They say they have 'evidence' shes dead and usually people would assume this means they’ve found a body. maybe he just doesn't want to leave it open to interpretation (or for people to speculate if they've found a limb or something) and wants to clairfy that they don't have anything like that as such, no body, no limbs, no forensics at all etc but are still sure shes dead..... i really wonder what they've got.

Well, we really don't know why he said that. But one thing is for sure ... I have followed many, many cases here and not once have I heard/read a police officer or prosecutor say that. So I tend to put a little more importance on it.

Sometimes law enforcement hint at what they know - not for us, but to let other people 'in the know' that police are aware of what happened and that the noose is tightening. imo

Depends on the translation. Does it mean the plates were changed in may 2007. Or does it mean that LE know that in may 2007 the vehicle had Portuguese plates.

Also depends when in may they are talking about. All of may, or a specific date in may.
It is my understanding that the day after Madeleine disappeared, the VW was registered to someone else in/near Augsburg and Portuguese plates were mounted on the van (i.e.: the Portuguese plates were mounted on that day). The VW remained in Portugal, it was not driven to Augsburg.

- Were the Portuguese plates legit? Or were they retrieved from some other car in the scrap yard? I have a hunch that the Portuguese plates were false. (But it's just a hunch)

If Málaga pic is related to MM's case and he changed plates in May, then Málaga must be 4-31 May? All red tape will take upwards of 2 weeks at least and still must pass a special inspection to be awarded a Portuguese plate. I'm not absolutely sure, but after deregistering in Germany he's awarded a temporary plate with a short term (maybe 3 months) to allow for registration in another country.

I have a feeling that he changed plates like we change underwear. It is very probable, to me, that those plates may not even pertain to the vehicle they were on.

Police BOLOs may be avoided that way. "Be on alert for a VW van with plate number XXXXX". Change plates and maybe police trouble can be avoided.

so Amaral is saying the VW images he showed were how the camper looked in may 2007 - All white with stickers. is he?
or is he talking in riddles?
Amaral says that the day that police seized the VW from the scrap yard (2019), it had the drawings on it.
Amaral says that the photos of the VW -released by German police- do not show the actual state/appearance of the van when it had been found in the scrap yard in 2019.

P 2006: December 21: released from jail

Great work! I am sure that was very time consuming.

Did you want to put the timeline in its own thread (for ease of finding it again and editing).
We often create a separate thread for the timeline, and important media links, that become difficult to find as time goes by and the threads grow and grow. Especially when a case goes on for years and years.

I think the arms description is really interesting. I have 3 small children. If they fall asleep whilst I’m carrying them, they will almost certainly always have their arms around me and remain like that when asleep.

I can’t think of a time amongst hundreds when I’d be carrying them with their arms down, except if I’ve picked them up when already asleep.

I never carried my kids like that at that age, only when they were baby’s. It is also not good for your back and you can certainly not carry a child like that indoors because when you go through a door, you might bump their head or feet,ouch..
The only reason I can think off to carry a child like that is that you want to observe the reaction when a child wakes up. But maybe I am reading too much in too it....?

  • #738
Yes my mistake. has to be July 02. As the yellow plate only came into use in 1998 according to that wiki page.
So CB didn’t change the registration from German to Portuguese plates in 2007. he (or a previous owner) did it in 2002.
So on the day after MMs disappearance the VW gets registered to a new owner in Augsburg, but keeps its Portuguese number plates. And it also remains in Portugal according to LE.

The Jag is also related to Augsburg.

I just thought that (only) the Jag was registrered to a new owner day after MM disappearance?

I presume(!) any abductor to have covered / hidden MM while exiting the apartment and walking away. Possibly wrapped her in a sheet / cloth or perhaps hidden her in a large bag. The abductor wouldn't have walked in the street with her for everyone to see?

So I think that that sighting of the child being carried, must have been someone else.
