here is the third section [of 4] of the timeline that i have for CB. Here the focus is on the time closest to MBM disappearance, 2007.
thanks to all the WSleuths contributions that have helped to put this together.

i thought it would be a good exercise to test it. so feel free to add/edit/amend/debunk.

P 2007. jan-feb. living in white and yellow camper van - in PdL area.

P 2007. Feb. according to MT - CB living in VW camper in PdL. After spending a few weeks back in Austria for Christmas he came back in February to find CB was now living in his distinctive white and yellow VW van, having lost his rental home.

G 2007. according to AB - soon after release CB arrives in Augsburg in camper van - jag on tow.
G 2007. CB changes registration of jag to AB

• introduced by a mutual friend in around 2007 or 2008. He said he needed help and was looking for an apartment in Augsburg.
• CB was driving a Jaguar, which he bought from the mutual acquaintance.
• CB was 'often underway - sometimes he travelled to Portugal, sometimes to Sylt, to Munich. In between, he spent nights sleeping in my attic.'

P 2007-2008. vila bianca | foral | portugal. CB stays with Nicole F (possible ex-girlfriend of CB)(NF also from Wurzburg) and her husband Roman. Nicole and Roman running some sort of program for troubled youth(?). CB either staying in the residence or in his VW camper van (or in Allegro) parked at their residence.

CB also worked in a German-owned Foral restaurant. Also carried a gun. Kept vehicles in the restaurant car park. Townspeople reportedly feared CB.

P 2007. Foral. CB stays. sighting of Allegro. (Daily Mail) The articles from Dieter F (father of NF) claim he saw the Allegro a few months before MM went missing when CB arrived in Foral to top up the Allegro's water and charge the battery, DF claims he did that "often”. (Allegro registered with A DD 123 - Augsburg, Germany plates)

A former ambulance driver called Dieter, whose daughter knew CB, given a tour of the vehicle. 'As I looked inside, I asked him: 'Herr B, what do you do in Portugal?' He told me: 'I work, I get money, because I have a special business. I transport grass [cannabis] in my van.'
• 50kg of grass, and I transport it around Europe – nobody can see it ... I can transport children, kids, in this space. Nobody can catch you.

Witness sightings pre 3 may
Carol T: stating it was CB she saw closing the gate of 5A (Scottish Sun).
Jayne J: statement which appears to match CB's description.
12 yr old Tasmin S: statement which appears to match CB's description.
Female witness: the guy at the door eyeing up the young girl - MT reckons this was CB.
Also a call from the British girlfriend {Berkshire gf or Britiish gf#2??} about the 'horrible job' he had to do in PDL the following day.

P 2007 may 3. 19:32 to 20:02. CB 30 minute incoming (or outgoing?) phone call pings PdL telecoms mast.

P 2007 may 3. 21:00-22:00. (Thursday) Madeleine McCann, 3yrs11months goes missing

Witness sightings post 3 may
{Three weeks after MBM missing} It comes as a witness claimed to have spotted Madeleine McCann getting into a German-owned VW van with a man just weeks after her disappearance.
A police file details how the witness saw MBM emerging from a restaurant {tunel restaurant} in the Spanish seaside town of Alcossebre before climbing into the van with an unidentified man.

P/G 2007. Augsburg. CB travelling between Germany [Augsburg] - Spain [Orgiva]?? - Portugal [Foral]. CB was living with AB for weeks at a time in Germany and drying out cannabis in the attic. AB states this was "shortly after" MBM goes missing.

Spain 2007. late may/June. los tablones, orgiva, spain. hippie community. MT said CB turned up in “late May or early June” driving a Tiffin Allegro (Winnebago type 39 foot RV/MH). (>2016. It was in this vehicle that police found a stash of girls’ swimming costumes in 2016.)
only stayed a couple of days in the first visit. subsequent visits also driving the jag.
CB seeking MT for his drugs connections.

P 2007 august 15. Satellite imagery. Latest date for Malaga photo - camper van photo taken within Malaga ferry/port area [bka photo released 2020] (could be taken any time between 12 december 2006 and 15 august 2007)

P 2007. Nov. The police impounded the blue bedford van.
address in Barrocal given by CB. Barrocal, S BARTOLOMEU DE MESSINES is about 1 hour away from Praia da Luz – Bedford taken in lieu of fine for stealing diesel.

The only challenge I would make to the above is the bit about the 'horrible job'. The reports I've seen state this wasn't mentioned on a call but actually over dinner with his British ex-gf. I can't be certain but my suspicion is this dinner may have took place in Lagos. This is an educated guess based on the fact that both his British girlfriends had a mutal friend (the one who spoke to the press) who met CB while working as a bartender in Lagos and that one of the girlfriends "still" lives in Lagos now according to reports.

I remember a reference to police finding images of children in a Portuguese park on one of his storage devices, I wonder was it the same park in SBM?
It’s not a place that’s been given much reference in MSM but maybe he spent more time there than we currently know? And with a “friend” who shared the same interests?

and this links with the thing I keep going on and on about, the family who were on regional UK TV news after a man was in a holiday complex taking photos of holidaying children around the pool and the Dad had a scuffle or fight with him and made s citizens arrest but the Police didn't turn up until the next day so in the end he had to let him go. Same Summer that MM went missing. I hope hope hope this family are getting back in touch with Police as on the news report they said no one was doing anything about it. For me its crucial they get back in touch.
They will have a description of this man. He made the man delete photos of his own daughter from the camera (or phone).

No, I know it's a hefty piece but think it almost deserves a thread of it's own. It pretty much summaries every bit of important information we've discussed over the 9 threads of 50 or so pages each. I've no idea how many posts that equates to but your timeline is much easier to reference than working back through all that and leaves out all the irrelevant or unsubstantiated bits.

MT said that when he turned up with the Tiffin Allegro, there was an Englishman called Pops who also saw it. I think MT and Pops were like ‘how did he afford that’.

Where did Alexander Z’s name come from? Not a name that entered my brain. (ETA: ignore me, I just saw the sun reports on the European Arrest Warrant for AZ)

I think in the McCann files there was a ferry sighting of potential MM and man to do with Tangiers (but not from Malaga, iirc)

I get the feeling there's more to this break-in story than what we're hearing about in the Press. None of the individuals concerned sound like reputable characters, MT included. Seems very convenient for these 'friends' of CB to have destroyed the evidence that they were apparently morally outraged by. Yet didn't report anything at the time or pass the evidence on.

When does MT actually claim to have reported it to police? I don't think he's said. He knew about it while they were both still in prison yet he met up with him in Portugal months after they were released when there was no obligation for him to and then again in Spain months later. Couldn't have been that outraged by it if he was still bothering with him.

MT probably knows more and hopefully has said more to LE than to the media, but... I'm doubtful. I believe most of what he said is credible. That he lived with and got arrested with CB, and that he went to the Dragon Festival in Orgiva following his release. I'd even buy that CB went down there to find him, knowing MT would reconnect him to the drug trade. But the part where he says he didn't want to see the rape of the elderly woman when the associates found it upon clearing out CB's things from his home, I do not believe. More likely, he's not owning up to something here, and likely that something is having viewed the video, and possibly even have disposed of it or kept it and returned it to CB at some point, possibly in Spain. I'm also thinking maybe CB had something bigger over the associates and MT that assured him they wouldn't go to police with whatever evidence they had / saw of the rape. OR... they were all in on it, and saving their own butts. And by in on it, perhaps they were themselves in other videos etc recovered from the house. I almost feel like he's saying to the associates, don't worry, I didn't name you guys and I'm not gonna. We're safe, let them hang CB.

What always gets me is how MT said everyone knew he was a pervert with sexual issues, but once he saw the video of the elderly woman that’s how he knew CB was sick. What did he know about his sexual issues and what CB was into that made him class his friend as a “pervert”? What did MT tolerate of his friend’s perversions that raping an elderly woman made him cross the line between “pervert” and “sick”? Were children fair game but the elderly off-limits within this friend group? Just something about how it was quoted never sat right with me.

(I know I make a lot of assumptions and cast a lot of aspersions)

Yes, I agree. MT admits CB was his best friend and he lived with him for months. He knew all about the Dark web activity and CB supposedly told him about selling kids into Morocco. Yet he did nothing. He stayed with him.

I won't be surprised if MT is found to be complicit in some way in CB's other criminal activities besides the diesel theft. I'm not necessarily saying he was involved in MM although one of the E-fits does resemble him IMO.

Did ya know that even if he deleted the photos off his camera / memory card, they could have been recovered reallllly easily? Seriously. Its the click or two of a button on a keyboard and they're all back on file. I'd have taken and KEPT the memory card, and I would have also smashed the cam and then sent it for a swim and if he wanted to have me charged for destruction of property? So be it.

I also think it looks like a pram with child wearing pink...same pink colour we saw in the other photo discussed where a few of us could see a child or a child & older person, most thought it was the curtains. I’m convinced it was Madeleine, I think they have photographic evidence she was in his VW camper van.

I will try to translate the parts narrated in Portuguese (sorry my English is very poor and I am doing this on a cell phone).

MM disappeared on May 3, 2007. Oliver and Carrie (?) Stenard tell us, in exclusive, what they know because they lived with CB 9 years after Maddie's disappearance. At 30 the suspect in the disappearance of the english girl was a subject always escaping.

When CB arrived in Portugal in 1995 and lived in this house, he was escaping from German justice.
In October 1994, he was sentenced to two years in prison for sexual abuse of a child, but escaped in a motorhome.
He was only extradited to Germany in 1999 and served a third of that sentence, he was released by the authorities in January 2001 and returned to Portugal.

Between trips, and leaving crimes where he passed, taking advantage of the lack of land borders, CB was only imprisoned once in Portugal, for diesel theft in Portimão.
Irony of fate. He was only 8 months in jail, he was released in December 2006. For the sexual abuse of a child in Germany he would have been in prison longer: 1 year and 4 months.

But he was again convicted by the Braunschweig court in February 2016 of child sexual abuse and possession of child .

CB could have been caught right away, because he attack Oliver, who had given him a job. Carrie called the GNR but the guard did not see that CB had an international arrest warrant.

The last time CB was arrested in Portugal was precisely 3 years ago in this São Bartolomeu de Messines playground while the Fiesta de Caracol was taking place. CB was seen by 4 kids, ages 9 to 12, as he masturbated just below where they were playing. The children ran out and called their parents. The parents of these children called the GNR of São Bartilomeu de Messines.

CB was extradited to Germany exactly the same year that he began to be investigated for MM's disappearance. It was July 2017 and he had spent more than 20 years in Portugal and was never tried for sexually importuning the children of these Portuguese citizens.

VPN just masks your IP address. Google "nordvpn" for a better explanation. Basically it makes is more difficult for people with negative intentions to track your internet footprints is all. And you're probably fine if you didn't click any links.
