He has contacted both Malaysian and Vietnam Officials... doesn't know if they have received his message.

He might want to notify other governments, too... KWIM?

(I am not certain where this information will lead with these two governments listed...:dunno:)

The coordinates referred to by the oil rig worker is in the opposite location from where military radar supposedly had tracked the flight. However, in light of the new denial by the military, I'm actually starting to believe this letter.

My head is spinning in circles.

...The mystery over the fate of Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 became even more convoluted Wednesday when Malaysia's air force chief denied earlier remarks that the missing plane had reversed direction and reached the Strait of Malacca before vanishing.

#MH370 Malaysia Air Force chief tells ABC News in KL unable to release radar or timeline, but "No Comment" as to why.

Maybe because they don't have radar or timeline.

They are probably not speaking until some cold, hard facts are in. ie: locating MH370, or they are investigating something else?

This plane could have made it as far as Africa?

Not sure since plane headed toward Vietnam then turned, maybe, maybe not.

Can anyone get the lat and long from flightradar24 ?

Thanks for this, I was sleuthing for this. :seeya:

It seems unlikely that no other aircraft either saw it or ran head on onto it. It must've plummeted altitude within seconds as the potential witness wrote.

:scared: Eating Mars bars and sipping diet coke, no sleep for me!

hahaha me either and I took an ambien 2 hrs ago.

I don't know if it was one of the 'just kidding' reports or not, but originally the radar showed the plane starting to make a right (easterly) turn before it disappeared. When info came out that the plan had been tracked to the west I assumed it must have made a loop. The location from the letter certainly matches better with the initial reports. At this point I'm beginning to wonder if there really was a plane.

Here's the coordinates (from that oil rigger's letter) on Google map:

Seems off-course, for sure. But who knows?
That is where the rig is. Now if you add the direction he was looking (the compass) + the distance he said it was away (50 - 70 kms).

Unfortunately, that is not MSM -- as his tweets said that it was an unconfirmed source, so basically this is, at this point, no better than rumor.

I have to agree, looks like anyone could of wrote that. There's always the seldom that sneak through the cracks. But, stating his Lat. Long. is quite odd.

I would be quite shocked if this was true - stranger than fiction.

It came from here: https://twitter.com/cnbcSri

I am going to unapproved the posts for now because it does not appear that the link is msm. If it turns out that it is then the posts will be reinstated.

I had plans to see the movie "Non-Stop" this last weekend but I lost my excitement to go after hearing about MH370. I had a thought. The report about the pilot who contacted MH370 at 1:30am and heard mumbling and static, wasn't that reported to be false? But maybe it really is true and whoever didn't want that to get out. I think it makes sense. The plane left at what, 12:51am, so 1:30 am would be 39 minutes, about the time it was said to have lost contact and about the time the plane turned around and headed west. The pilot of the other plane said it sounded like the younger pilot. How he knew that I don't know but perhaps it was neither of the pilots. 40 minutes into the flight and having leveled out might have been the time that one of the pilots used the restroom or the flight attendants were bringing in food, when someone rushed the cockpit.

Now I am listening to Fox where they are talking about hacking the plane. Morgan Wright CEO Crowd Source.

Has there been a list of passengers yet that I might get data on?

Here is a screenshot of FlightRader24 and then the location mentioned in the letter. You can see how the plane appears to be turning in that direction when it drops off the radar.
