What time did he see the burning object and how long would it have taken to get from point A to point B? :banghead::banghead:

Here you go. (ETA - it's 1:21am here, so this took a lot of thinking from my tired brain...)

- last speed: 471 knots
- distance between two points: 586.5 km (316.85 nm)
- time: .67 hours = ~ 40 minutes

So, if traveling the same speed, then it would be there about 2:10am or so?

It just astounds me that we get almost no new info during their daytime hours.

Missing Malaysia Airlines plane: 'Alright, good night' were last heard words

"Alright, good night" were the last heard words from the missing Malaysian Airlines (MAS) flight MH370 - which were revealed for the first time at a meeting in Beijing on Wednesday morning between the Malaysian government and Chinese relatives.

The flight then disappeared from radar screens, said Malaysia's civil aviation officials at the meeting fronted by its envoy to China, Datuk Iskandar Sarudin, and held in a packed room with nearly 400 relatives at the Metropark Lido hotel.

"Alright, good night" and then they fell off radar? :sigh: Does that mean they were switching over to the next traffic controllers? Sounds like they weren't planning to speak to them again that night.

The aviation officials said MH370's last heard words were made in response after Malaysian air traffic controllers told the cockpit that they were entering Vietnamese airspace and that air traffic controllers from Ho Chi Minh city were taking over.

The last words make sense when you look at in context.
