If it's nothing to do with it I'll delete it

No, it's not December, it's March 12th, don't delete it, I'm trying to get a translation.

12/03/14 = March 12, 2014

It's not from December. It's from today. The US is one of very few countries that write the date month/day/year. 3/12/2014. Most write it as day/month/year. 12/3/2014. The article references MH370.

That must be the body I reported being found earlier this morning (my time).

So if this is correct, that the Malasian military possibly tracked the plane near Nicobar Island, I would think this again supports the hijacking idea. Could be they were trying to take the plane to ..... Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Africa, take your pick.

It's the "proper" (lol) way of writing a date, ie 12/3/14 is today...

This is what google translate makes of it:

"Fishermen found the bodies of men on the island Salahnama , Coal County , North Sumatra ( North Sumatra ) . Allegedly he's been tossed around a few days at sea . How this looks ?

From the picture obtained by AFP from Coal Police , visible condition was pathetic . His face had not shaped , making it difficult to identify. The body was dark skinned and bald . He was wearing a blue shirt and plaid blanket body bags .

"

The date is a year out but easy mistake to make. It's definitely relating to this case.

EDIT just noticed both ways of writing the date are used in the article. But the days match up ie Saturday 8th and Weds 12th.

What are "plaid blanket body bags???

I have a Facebook friend (went to high school with him 20 years ago) who is in Kuala Lumpur right now, traveling for pleasure. I posted on FB last night about MH370, and my theories of what could have happened. He responded, "What!? I am in Malaysia right now, about to board a plane in the Kuala Lumpur airport, and I have heard NOTHING about this plane disappearing. Thanks for the info!"

Now how freaking weird is that!?

Oil rig worker claims in employer confirmed letter-he saw the plane go down. Vietnamese say they found nothing @ABC pic.twitter.com/k8y02se9aZ

— Bob Woodruff (@BobWoodruff) March 12, 2014

___

In the email, Michael McKay describes what he believed to be a plane burning at high altitude, about 50 to 70 km away from his location.

McKay said while he “observed the burning (plane), it appeared to be in one piece.”

The oil rig worker provided GPS coordinates of his location and an approximate location where he saw the plane.

“From when I first saw the burning (plane) until the flames went out (still at high altitude) was 10 to 15 seconds,” he wrote. “There was no lateral movement, so it was either coming toward our location, stationary (falling) or going away from our location.”

I'm think that is lost in translation and I'm going to hazard a guess it means plaid trousers/shorts (like tartan)

Just got on this morning and there are 10 new pages. But this was on Twitter and didn't know if posted yet, here. A Stanford student who grew up around aviation (and almost went into aerospace engineering) posted this theory of what happened (using the weakness of the fuselage in 777's discussed earlier in here), and it's gone viral on Twitter. Here's the part of his post that answered my earlier question about why the oxygen masks wouldn't therefore have deployed with decompression:

He also noted that the Boeing 777 aircraft does not deploy passenger oxygen masks until the cabin altitude reaches 13,500 feet. By then, passengers were likely to be unconscious if there was a slow decompression. Moreover, MH370 was a red-eye flight and most passengers would be trying to sleep, hence masking the effects of oxygen deprivation.

The rest of his theory is pretty interesting, too, if you want to read it (and would put the wreckage out in the East China Sea, the Sea of Japan or the Pacific Ocean rather than the South China Sea). And all the pieces of the puzzle would be accounted for. Here's the link:

(Off to read the pages I've missed...)

Thanks for this. This was the guy with the map coordinates that belimom and I posted about yesterday. Glad to know he's "real"--though it seemed pretty real from reading it yesterday. (He posted his passport number and a bunch of stuff that an oil rigger would be more likely to know.)
