But would she eat what she was offered? People like Nora often have extremely limited diets - and she had an ulcer. People don't develop ulcers in 4 days. It takes an average person weeks to die from starvation.
This is what I couldn’t fathom, as surely she had to have had the ulcer already? People can live for longer without food as long as they have water. If there is water available and you’re dehydrated then natural instinct would kick in?

I love my gastroenterologist. That guy improved my quality of life, yeah boy!

For some of us, our stomach/gastro conditions hurt while food is being processed, after eating. Before above-mentioned doctor addressed my problem, I hesitated to eat in public because it often hurt.

I don't know anything about this child's ulcer, but in her case, she may have preferred being hungry to the pain experienced after eating.

I do carry back-up medicines now.

If this young lady knew that
Mom/Dad had her medicines,
she was only to eat 'approved' foods to avoid problems
only to eat when medicines were available
-- she couldn't meet the conditions or procedures of eating so didn't?

Okay, I'm rambling, and really hope a few of you get what I'm saying here!

Still, condolences to this family & all who knew Nora!

My theory on the postponement is that Noras parents want to fly out and testify, and when the inquest date was first arranged perhaps this wasn’t possible due to restrictions, but it now is.

Oh that is a good point

Agree, the ulcer must have been present. Find it strange that after a long flight and jungle conditions the autopsy did not find signs of dehydradation.

We're just receiving snippets, Seni.
There must be a lot more not yet made public or public but not considered to be out of the ordinary.
British pathologist has yet to testify.

Ok Kitty,
I presume we will also hear from Nora's GP and other specialists as well as "home helps" who were treating her.

Not unless they are relevant to the framework of the inquest.
This is just an inquest.

The inquest into the death of teenager Nora Quoirin has been adjourned until later this month.

At a hearing yesterday, the coroner announced the postponement to enable two witnesses to testify at the inquest in Malaysia on September 14.

Fourteen of the 64 witnesses listed for the inquest have so far given evidence since the proceedings began on August 24.

The teenager passed away four days before she was eventually found by hikers helping with the search, the coroner was told.

“There was no ransom, the post-mortem report showed the findings what is the motive? There was no strangulation to show she was forcibly taken,” he said.

As the officer-in-charge of the overall supervision and completion of the Investigation Papers (IP) before they were submitted to the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC), Lee said the probe was already completed, apart from several pending chemist reports, when the IP was referred to the AGC for further action on August 29, 2019.

In addition, Lee said Bukit Aman also sought assistance from Interpol Ireland for Quoirin’s medical history, as her family’s disclosure that she suffered a condition that hampered her mobility did not provide fresh leads here.

I agree, I wish there was more medical insight about the ulcer. I think severe stress, and no food in the stomach to counteract acid, could possibly very quickly worsen and perforate an ulcer, but I guess doctors don't really have those kinds of patients to study, thank goodness .

There's also the question of how an ulcer might affect someone's behaviour, for example if she was experiencing severe pain, rather than hunger, might she have been focussed on escaping the pain by lying low and quiet, rather than looking for help?

He didn't say on the 6th.
He said: "on day 6".

As in: on day 6 of the searches = on the 6th day of the searches = August 9th.
You are correct.
I apologise.
That's the 9th, both BBC sources.. it must b accurate..
well, presumably they searched it before she got there, a day is a long time...

Yes a day is long ... they could have searched in the morning and Nora could have arrived in the afternoon or evening.
I still don't know what to think exactly of this disappearance.
All gates were locked for the night. Unless someone unlocked a gate,
the only free access to or from the compound was through the opening in the fence.

Shouldn't the searches and investigation have focussed on that spot?
The spot where footsteps were found and the spot where the dog reacted.

That’s not quite accurate- all gates on the roads into the resort were locked. There was a fence around some of the compound, and there was a gap in the fence to the rest of the resort (where Sora house was).
Discussed at the inquest 5.53 on day 1

Yes that's what I mean Ruthbullock. The opening in the fence is where the dog reacted and where the footsteps were found.
Shouldn't they have focussed there?

If the gates were locked and remained locked then there was no access through gates. But access would have been possible through that gap near the Sora.

I'm sure they did focus on that, it was in everybody's interest to find her asap.
I don't understand why the trackers found no trace of her at all... like, none, not even a footprint, the best of Malaysian resources and skills were poured into that search , at least according to media reports..
I can think of no natural or supernatural phenomena that brought this about.
It was a long final journey for her.

So if she went through the gap, she would have ended up in the Dusun resort, I wonder if this is what prompted her parents to try and convince the police that someone in one of the other resort houses took her?

A lot of animal scents and toileting in nature Could potentially mask her scent perhaps?

I have no idea where that gap leads to.
According to media, for instance this source, it leads to a road exiting the resort:
Questions were also raised about whether Nora wandered away from the resort via a huge gap in the fence after she disappeared, potentially widening the search area.

You can see the road on the left and the gap in the fence on the right.
This should be 50 yards from the Sora.
Missing Nora Quoirin 'could be hiding in Malaysian jungle' | Daily Mail Online

The Coroner’s Court here was today told that a tracker dog used in the search and rescue (SAR) operation to locate Nora Anne Quoirin had detected “something” in the bamboo planted behind the house where she stayed with her family, a day after the teenager was reported missing on Aug 4, 2019.
After taking the dog to the back of the house, the dog stopped at the area planted with bamboo as if it had picked up something near the fence.
