I know some people actually Dr. shop to get constant perscriptions.

Martha, does your husband get "perks" from the drug companies to perscribe? My FIL was a travel agent and said he saw it all the time when booking for dr.'s travel and conventions- huge amounts of free drugs to pass around.

Drug representatives and salesmen pass out samples of prescription drugs; that would be against the law for Doctors.

They've gotten much stricter on drug companies, who yes, used to give parties, trips etc to doc to sell them their drugs.

No my husband says "hi and bye" to most drug reps; he really didn't have time to listen; a GOOD DOCTOR will read up on the drugs to find out which ones really work the best.

I do think we often hear of the expensive ones, though, when we could find a cheaper one that would work just as well. It pays to ask alot of questions to the pharmacists, too. (of course they're making money off the drugs too)

I wish we could buy from Canada; the Drug companies are way to powerful in this country.
