I'm at work, but I just want to say a quick little prayer for MJD and send some hopeful vibes out there....

Here's a few. Any more to add, or any that should be removed?

1. Available info says you were picked up after she was already in the car.
Where were you picked up?
What time of day? 10, 12, 2, 4
What was in the car when you got in?
a. food? from where?
b. drinks? from where?
c. clothing/personal belongings?

3. what clothing was she wearing? dress? shorts? long pants?
a. was she carrying a purse?
b. was she wearing perfume?
c. shoes?

4. what did she talk about?
a. did she have a recognizable accent?
b. did she talk like English was/wasn't her first language?
c. slang or annoying phrases?
d. other places she'd been
e. her voice: high & girlish, deeper like an adult, raspy like
a long-time smoker?

5. what music was on the radio? who picked it? (for example: he was playing _____
and she didn't like it because she only listens to _______)

6. was she drinking/smoking? did she bring her own?

7. what was the most annoying thing about her?

8. do you remember what year/model cadillac?

Okay, as for asking her questions if she complies with me, and if it is her.. I decided that I am only going to ask her questions that will help find MJD an identity. I don't want her to feel as though I want her to replay the entire event, as that isn't even relevant to identifying her.

Fmw63, these are good questions to ask. I came up with a list of my own that I feel she will be able to answer in confidence.

1. Do you remember what she was discussing with you guys about in the car? If so, what?

a. did she talk about any other people she knew? (i.e. "Can we stop at my friend ______'s house first?)

2. Did she have an apparent accent? Did she speak any other languages?

a. Hispanic
b. Slavic/Russian
c. European
d. Regional American (northern, southern, eastern, western)

3. Do you remember what she was wearing?

4. After you were all piled into the car, did you stop anywhere between where you were picked up and the location of the event?

5. Did she give any warning or indication that she was going to expel herself from the vehicle?

6. Did she smoke?

7. What was her body language like?

a. scared
b. depressed
c. nervous
d. happy
e. excited
f. relaxed, laid back

8. If I showed you a few reconstructions of what she may have looked like, do you think you may be able to identify which one looked most like her?

Do those sound okay?

Praying with you. I've seen God do some awesome things in my life and am excited to see what He does here.

Yes, I agree. I feel some hopeful vibes surrounding this case, and I hope He gives us answers and clues to move forward.

I love the thoughtful questions and all of the hard work;

JMO-I think I would lead off with- "If I showed you some composites, could you help us narrow down one that best represents her or has features that you might remember differently?"

She has been asked repeatedly, I believe, if MJD had a recognizable accent, so maybe I would ask her if she remembers any words MJD spoke and if she seemed young or local or something like that???

Definitely ask if she recalls what MJD was wearing....

I would take it slow with her just to see how she feels about even opening a dialog, you know what I mean?

On a different subject, perhaps the folks in the vehicle turned in the necklace/ring?

Yeah, I'll probably just ask her if she seemed like a local and what she was wearing. I wasn't planning on asking those questions right away, I want to see if she is even comfortable in the first place! I was just giving examples of questions that I may ask her.

It was probably a traumatic event for her to have gone through and she may not be ready to open up about it to someone else. I'm sure she's moved on with her life, and wants to forget about it. So I will bear that in mind when messaging her. I'm aware that it's a touchy subject and I will go about it respectfully and understandingly.

She would definitely be the best help there.

Maybe MJD isn't being identified because her eyebrows and hair color were recently changed just prior to her death. Maybe those who had seen or knew her before the incident are looking for someone with bushier eyebrows and brown hair. It also doesn't help that her post-mortem photos may not look like her at all.

I've been to many open casket viewings and they NEVER look the same..

Maybe a composite should be made displaying her with thicker, less shapely eyebrows and brown hair?

I like the one with the brown hair that was done-was it you or Zanko???just call me Dory...

i did not mean to quarterback you either about your contact with the possible witness; my bad and I apologize. Of course you weren't going to send her all of those questions...

No, no. No need to apologize! I should have explained better when I posted!

I did this one..

But I used her original eyebrows and put blonde hair on her.

I thought maybe someone could make a different composite showing her with bushier eyebrows/brown hair, just in case that might make her more identifiable to someone who knew her before the incident. I could be wrong, she may have always done her eyebrows/hair like that.. just a thought, though.

Update on LDJ.. no response yet. She didn't respond until this morning when I messaged her last night, though. So that may be routine for her to check her profiles after work or something. So I'm not going to give up hope!

I appreciate everyones support and suggestions on contacting her. I was a little hesitant at first, and I tried to put myself in her shoes and it made me think that she may be trying to put this whole incident behind her. She may be slightly or very annoyed that not only LE is questioning her, but "outsiders" are too now. Maybe she moved away to escape it. Who knows? I just hope she wants to help and I am praying that she can give us the lead we need to solve this case..

You are my hero VASHLEY!!! I hope she's the one and she's willing to help. As long as she knows we're just trying to find out where she belongs, I hope she'll open up a little! We just need a few clues!

Mine too. Its takes courage to take the step in contacting her.

Sure does and I never would have considered it! And it will take courage for LDJ to give us the information we need to find out where our little MJD belongs.

  • #456
I'm praying for courage for LDJ and for her to remember the details we need to find closure for MJD and her family.

  • #457
At this point, ANY piece of information she has would be especially helpful. I just hope she knows my intent isn't to accuse her of anything. And I think I've made that pretty clear.

I haven't given up hope on our little angel!

I had an odd dream about a week ago, and it was about MJD, and she was writing in a notebook. And I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about her writing her name on it and it getting tossed into the desert or that LE missed it when searching the car.

Blah, I get waay too involved in these cases!

YW - and I think I speak for all of us here who are so determined to find MJD her home - we are fortunate that you have joined this case and have added so much value to the discussion. I think we needed a new pair of eyes (and bal*s!) to jump start the search and you have been it! Thank you!

Well thank you, that's sweet of you to say! But I wouldn't have been able to do it without all of the valuable information I've gotten from you all!

I just wish this case could get some more spotlight somehow..
