Jurors dismissed for day.

Help please, I don't quite understand. Notes that were possibly from the Rogers trial were in the notebooks left for jurors in this trial and an alternate juror might have seen the notes. ????? Almost caused a mistrial?

It was a serious infraction but it was an innocent mistake made by whoever gave the jurors notebooks to use. Someone didnt check every page of the notebook before giving the specific juror that notebook and it turned out there were notes from Rogers previous trial at the very back of that notebook. And the reason the judge was so upset was because the notes were from actual jury deliberations of Rogers trial. Wow. No worse luck than that happening.

The specific juror was called in and questioned by the judge and he claimed he didnt read the notes and the judge believed him and both sides seemed to agree that it is ok to let that juror continue on this case.

ETA - The judge also is going to instruct each juror to check their notebooks and if any other notes are in it then they are asked to report that back to the judge.

It was pretty wild. Never seen that happen before.

#SieversTrial - The juror says he did not read the notes on the last two pages. Judge had the pages ripped out of the notebook and will ask the remaining jurors tomorrow morning to look and the end of their notebooks for notes that might not be theirs.

#SieversTrial - One of the juror's notebooks had writing on the last pages that is not the current juror HOWEVER, they are notes from a juror from the RODGERS' trial and they are notes about deliberations.

Right before we ended for the day, there was an issue with a juror. He found *another juror's notes on the back of his notebook, Judge Kyle said were "clearly" from the Jimmy Rodger's trial. Juror sent home for the day like everyone else, we'll figure this out tomorrow. #Sievers

Whew, it helps to hear the legal experts on Court TV, which I wish they'd put their names on the screen more often, say it was hard to follow. Defense was going from topic to topic trying to confuse the jury because they don't have much to win this case they said. That Ashley Willcott reminds me of Dr. Teresa Sievers a little, same hair color maybe.

I truly hope we don't have mistrial issues tomorrow. I have the feeling the whole jury process will have to start over again.... what a mess re the notebook! JMO

How much trouble and expense would it be for the state to just provide new notebooks at the beginning of a trial? SMH

Which thread are we going to discuss things on?

As many here have said, and a Court TV legal expert agrees by saying the "swinger angle" with jealousy, etc., is really the only direction Defense can go. Oh no, it's going to be so outrageous and ugly.

They just showed CWW going over his testimony from the previous trial of how him and Jimmy Rodgers hit Teresa with the hammers. Just Heartbreaking. I felt so sad seeing that photo of her suitcase in the garage imagining her getting home. Mark set it up what occurred next. Mark is a worm in my eyes.

Why in the world are they going to let the jurors check the notebooks in the morning?! Sorry but does that sound really stupid to anybody else?!Why doesn’t someone like the bailiff go through the notebooks and make sure they are clear?!

I bet they will now!

Mark Sievers looks different now, and Vinnie Politan thinks he looks more like his attorney. What do you think? MOO, for some reason he reminds me of an accountant keeping dirty books working for the mob boss. The glasses give a genteel look, but I still don't understand why they have to be such small, tight glasses for that fat head. :p What is that suppose to convey?

I'm sorry, i just want to gag watching him 'cry' at the defense table.

Do they not have the funds to buy new notebooks for each new trial? Why would they not take all notebooks and destroy and start fresh at the next one? This is crazy and very sloppy. I feel bad for the person who was supposed to check but, honestly, they should not be in that position.

Now that those are the juror’s notebooks, nobody is allowed to go through their personal juror notes. So nobody else can do it.

Thinking of starting a modest 🤬🤬🤬 petition for this court in order to cover the cost of 2 dozen lined notebooks from Staples (and maybe drafting Dan May and his team in from CO to help with prosecution strategy...)

Thanks all for posting these tweets. Had forgotten just how vicious and bumbling MS and his two hitmen were. Poor Teresa and family, and poor girls having to live through this at an age where it will be especially awful and uncomfortable for them.

I panicked yesterday re the lack of number of jurors they had and they used every one of them at the end to form this jury and now this today.... ugh ugh ugh
