I actually think the competitive philanthropy is worse than the distraction. I'm curious if it truly is a competitive move or could it possibly be a strategic move from both sides?
I'm probably a bad one to ask this as I just automatically think JS cringes at this kind of stuff.... or maybe finds it amusing. I'm very open to being wrong on that, it's just difficult and messy to think he was really a part of it all.
But, your question made me wonder if JS is caught in an odd spot since AS was named in the lawsuit. I still think it's some possibility that AS was set up to take the fall (or maybe just confuse things ... which might have been successful already).
This is veering off track. But I see the donation thing as a way to get any positive PR and damage control. I think it is more and more difficult for DS to get much PR at all except through Maxie's House. But I wonder how many years you can keep throwing fund raisers without doing anything or making your finances public.
Could be she donated (something) now to instill some confidence in past and future donors before asking for more?
