According to
a news release, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children contacted Prince George’s County police on Feb. 17 about a social media account operating in the county that possessed and distributed suspected CP. The images had been uploaded on social media in January, police said.
Police have arrested and charged Patrick Wojahn, the now former mayor of College Park, Maryland, with possession and distribution of child pornography.

Patrick Wojahn, 47, was charged with 56 counts of alleged child pornography that included 40 counts of possession of child exploitative material and 16 counts of distribution of child exploitative material, according to a
statement from the Prince George’s County Police Department.
Patrick Wojahn, 47, the mayor of College Park since 2015, said in a resignation letter: "I am stepping away to deal with my own mental health."

On February 28, 2023, PGPD detectives served a search warrant at Wojahn’s College Park home. Investigators recovered multiple cell phones, a storage device, a tablet and a computer. Following additional investigation, PGPD obtained criminal charges against Wojahn and investigators took him into custody early this morning.
