I feel gutted. This is so awful.

Do you remember what station it was? I can't find anything on the news regarding a body in Maryland (anywhere in Maryland) and I checked WBAL in Baltimore as well. It happens in Chicago, sometimes we'll see something locally before the major stations pick it up.

They found a body, likely DaCaras IMO, as it has similar characteristics. I would have thought they'd know for sure by now as that was 3 days ago. Family must have been contacted to identify the body one way or the other.

The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) announced Wednesday that Maryland State Police (MSP) found a body with “similar” characteristics to missing 19-year-old DaCara Thompson.

During a press conference, PGPD Interim Chief George Nader said that MSP found the body off of Route 50 in Anne Arundel County on Aug. 31.

Nader said that officials have not yet confirmed whether or not the body is Thompson’s.

her car was found off of Riggs Rd which is close to the DC line but right off of rte. 50. Not sure where the body was found exactly but from her car to Annapolis, it’s about 45 minutes with no traffic.

It was fox 5 dc. Baltimore doesn’t report on our (PG county and Anne arundel county) most of the time.

Thanks for the info. She didn't didn't walk there after parking her car, imo.

If this is indeed her (confirmation still pending), I'm baffled why she was found days ago but not reported to media/public. Are they indeed still in the process of confirming identity days later??

'The PGPD is aware that the Maryland State Police has opened a death investigation after a female’s body was located in a grassy area off Route 50 in Anne Arundel County on Sunday. The preliminary investigation has revealed a possible connection to the PGPD’s missing persons investigation. At this time, the identity of the deceased woman has not been confirmed. Investigators are also awaiting autopsy result from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine cause and manner of death. The PGPD is working jointly with Maryland State Police on this investigation.'

Not sure how long identification usually takes.

The part I find really strange about all of this is her car. Parked illegally on the wrong side of the street in front of a hydrant? That's sure odd to me.

It makes me think she intentionally parked that way so her car would get attention. Because she had to know it would. IF she was in the right frame of mind. If she wasn't in the right frame of mind, she might not have even thought twice about parking there.

So which is it? Intentionally? Or not in the right frame of mind and didn't even notice that what she was going was not only wrong (parking on the wrong side of the street), but also illegal (hydrant).

Add to that mystery what was left behind in the car. I can't help but think she might have been suicidal. The one thing that makes me think she wasn't suicidal is she gassed up. No one needs gas on the road to heaven.
True , except the United Airline VP Jake Cefolia who wasn’t found for a whole year ,did gas up - then he hung himself in a preserve.

I've never stolen a car but if I think for a minute that I'm going to harm a person and take her car, I don't think I'm going to park in such a way that's its all but guaranteed to attract attention.

Oh gawd, not good news once again.
Wether it is DaCara or not, it's yet another dead young woman.

Speaking with CBS affiliate WUSA, her father said that after an hour went by and she hadn't returned he gave her a call, but she didn't pick up. By 11:50 p.m., he sent her a text saying he was going to bed and just wanted to check on her.

He told the outlet that she responded immediately and wrote, "I should be back soon. I love you too. Goodnight <3". His attempts to reach her the following day were unsuccessful.
