In the mothers quote, the girl said it was her uncle's property and he would be mad seeing a strange car there.

This is making no sense. I want to know who these girls are.

I think this is allowed (would be strange if it wasn't for this is public information by LE, Howard County Police department)

NEWS RELEASE: Police continue search for David Gipson Smith, reported missing in Woodbine last month
Howard County police are continuing to investigate the disappearance of 28-year-old David Gipson Smith, who went missing in Woodbine last month, but have found no leads indicating his possible whereabouts.
Smith had come to Maryland from his home in New Jersey and was last seen Aug. 6 by a friend (friend, how did they came acquainted, how long did they know each other, from what...) who reported dropping him off in the general area (general area ???? huh??? what was the reason to to do this? ) of the 2000 block of Woodbine Road.

Police received information that Smith was using drugs the day before his disappearance, (from who??? This could be somebody liying, covering up, why believe this person?) believed to be heroin (believe that one of the girls was with him.....of course you know what was used (together) no sorry just looked in another way, didn't noticed blehhhh) , and that he did not have a place to stay in Maryland. (he did have a place to stay in Maryland, hooked up with girlfriend(s)..what happened, that he couldn't stay there all of a sudden?) He reportedly indicated that he planned to spend the night outside (says who...don't believe that, fits in the rest of the story, but I think this is BS)

Authorities received a missing person report six days later, on Aug. 12, (story making, suggesting and putting loved once in a bad position) and at the time conducted a large-scale land and air search of the area, including nearby farmland, woods and a pond.

Investigators have learned that Smith has left home in the past for weeks or months at a time and believe it’s possible he may have traveled away from the Maryland area after he went missing. (on what grounds?)

Detectives also have learned that Smith packed many of his belongings when he left New Jersey, including luggage and other possessions (only parents can confirm this). According to witnesses, (how credible are this witnesses, being involved?) Smith left his car parked in Elkridge (not logical) and asked for a ride from a friend on the day of his disappearance (I'm sure he did not ask drop me of on somebody's (for him unknown) property without food or anything, feels like they put an animal back in nature). It appears he took the possessions he could carry, but left the rest behind in the car.

Since his disappearance, police have determined that there has been no activity on Smith’s cell phone, no use of his debit or credit cards, and no postings on his social media accounts. Police have followed up on reported sightings of Smith and checked with local hospitals and shelters, but none have been viable leads.
While police have found no evidence of foul play at this stage of the investigation, they are considering every possibility. Detectives are concerned for Smith’s welfare due to the duration of his absence and his history of drug and alcohol use.
Smith is described as a white male, 6 ft. 4 in. tall, weighing 230 pounds. He has several tattoos on his chest, torso and arms. Police do not have a clothing description. Anyone with information should contact Howard County police at 410-313-STOP or email [email protected]. Anyone who sees Smith should call 911.

For answers to a lot of your questions look at the mothers post about the events on the Find David FB page.

Thanks. You are funny/or not understanding me (I like your efforts/posts anyway, very much appreciated )....why do you think I asked this questions? Mother has an emotional, very understandable reaction.....wwohhhhh....I'm just reflecting on the post she is angry about and as a neutral person I ask the questions....saying some things are not adding up. LE is blind...not hearing the parents...Not because I don't know the answers/story..as far they can be answered.....just to be critical on this message of LE...

Makes no sense at all!,, why leave him in an open space with no shelter, food, water etc. Why not return him to his car? at least he would have had shelter and could go for food or go home for that matter. The FB article said one of the girls took a tub of supplies out on Wednesday, but there was no food or water in the supplies and on Friday when the mother arrived at that site the supplies were untouched. The mother said she thought it was taken out to the site b/c they knew she was coming.

that's why the story is ridiculous to me.

This is heartbreaking!! My gut reaction is those women know more than they are saying! His car was at the first woman's house, she would not let him stay there with her, so, instead of giving him directions to the other place he could possibly stay, she drove him.....leaving his car at her house.....What!

  • #108
or.. he couldn't drive it there....

In the mothers quote, the girl said it was her uncle's property and he would be mad seeing a strange car there.

Is this a possible accidental overdose where these "friends" hid his body because they were scared? If he was truly sober for a while, he may have over-estimated how much he could do at a time since his body was clean. Just a possible situation...

This is my thought as well. No way does their story add up at all.

I am agreeing with the accidental overdose theory,,because their story is full of inconsistencies!! Just a couple months ago a woman's body was found on a road super close to my house, she died of an overdose and her "friends" cleaned her up, brushed her teeth and all and left her body alongside the road!! Just insane!!

  • #112
Not only is it full of inconsistencies, but you have a car parked on your property for a week and your don't do anything or say anything? The pressure needs to be on both those women and the family at the Ellicott City woman's house.

Is there any info on who these girls are?

Also, if David was incapacitated from drugs or violence, how would these girls move a 6'4" 230 lb guy? There has to be others involved

I was thinking this too.

Someone asked why he didn't drive his car to the location and the girl said he couldn't because her uncle would notice a strange car on his property & would be mad.

I've seen a name of one of the girls but not sure it is correct and I don't think we can post here until it has been discussed by LE, media or family.

It would be hard for 1 woman to move David. The mother said both women came to the property and that's when police interviewed them. I think it would even be difficult for 2 women.
According to the phone records even though he supposedly spent the night at one girl's house he called her at 4am?

Why aren't there reports of phone pings!?!?

Also, under what circumstances does David NOT have his car keys?
Is it possible the dad said you're drunk I don't want you here and you're not driving. Give me your keys my daughter will take you somewhere. When you're sober come back for your car.

Just do a search on the property, the owners have an unusual last name.

Here's something weird though - the owners don't live near the property so how was the Uncle going to spot David or his car and be mad?

I saw that, too. Complete BS, IMO ....
