He has a very kind face in that photo.

Looks like in 2008, he was submitted as a possible match to an unidentified person. Here are the few details:

But at that point, admitted nearly a decade ago, the BCPD did not have Earl's DNA and could not find any family to use as a comparison.

Another bump for Earl, whose case I came across on Charley Project tonight.

Some things I note: the aforementioned 4/8/2020 human remains found off Appalachian trail: the jacket style looks early 90s, extent of fabric decay for a synthetic fiber jacket both could match the details of a 1991 disappearance like Earl’s, especially if the body/jacket was in a shaded or partial shade area.

Definitely worth attempts to match if it hasn’t been already,

BUT Chat GPT says that these remains with the red jacket were identified in Jan 2023 and the ID has been withheld from the public
