After searching since yesterday for Fawzan Hassan, a 6-year-old who went missing on Saturday, July 27 while in Bohrer Park, ~530p MCPD report his body has been found. MoCo PD MSOT (Managed Search Operations Team) & others have been on scene coordinating the search since Saturday.

Emergency responders have removed a body from a pond in Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg about 50 yards from the playground where 6 year old Fawzan Hassan disappeared Saturday afternoon. ⁦@WTOP

At about 5:25 pm today, a body surfaced in the pond at Bohrer Park which has been positively identified as Fawzan Hassan.

Rest peacefully, Fawzan.

I think we all sort of knew this was going to be the outcome, but still, so very sad.

I’ve lost count of the number of autistic little ones we’ve lost this year so far to drowning. I’m heartbroken for his parents and community. It happens so fast, it’s not a reflection of parenting in so many cases.

Ugh how awful. As soon as I saw that he was missing in Bohrer Park my heart sank. That pond is beautiful, shallow at the edge, and full of turtles; it's very tempting to any child and it has no fence. RIP poor baby.
