Skeletal remains found at Eastern Boulevard and East Ridge Drive

Hagerstown police are investigating the discovery of skeletal human remains in the area of Eastern Boulevard and East Ridge Drive, the department said Friday in a news release.

No foul play is suspected, the release said.

Officers responded at 1:47 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a human skull discovered in the woods near the two roads. A search of the wooded area revealed other skeletal parts of a body nearby, the release said.

Miller said the skull was in moderately dense woods near a clearing where he saw old tents, clothing and trash.

Update: Human skull found in wooded area of Hagerstown, no foul play

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (WDVM) — The Hagerstown Police Department is investigating a human skull and other human skeletal remains found in a wooded area on New Year’s Eve near the Hagerstown Municipal Stadium.

...just a few yards into the wooded area off of Eastern Blvd South past East Ridge Drive, when he saw a small skull. It was around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Miller said. He believes it had been there for a while.

Miller said the area looked like a homeless person was staying there.

“On the other side, they have sleeping bags or tents or something around there… You know homeless people might have been camping out there,” Miller said.
