Oh, oops! Then disregard my theory. ;)

I mean, I can't source that until MSM publishes info on the husband.

Another could be her mom's maiden name? idk...

Maybe she married twice ? From the marriage licence you found, What the chance two woman with same name and their father also has same name live in the same county?

MD has county court records online. There are many records for Jeanette F Allen and Jeanette Florence Allen. Those with a middle name have the same DOB as our Jeanette. There are some serious charges. All in 1985.

Yes, I think she married twice. I'm 99.9% certain that first record I found is her. She was living in the same county, same parent's names and the DOB matches as well. I have not found divorce or second marriage records for her in the name Allen/Alen but not all marriage records are on Ancestry or they can sometimes be hard to find due to typos or too common of a surname. Ratino is not a very common surname. Yang and Allen, on the other hand, are both common names.

Looks like most of charges were Misdemeanors, only one was felony for forgery

It was more the number of them she had and all in such a short time span.

She had a 'CDS-unlawful Mfgr etc' felony charge. I have no clue what that is. And 2 other misdemeanors, unlawful possession and obstructing. These were all dismissed.

It makes me wonder who she was hanging around with and what they might have been mixed up in. What she might have known.

Thank you. The others were spelled out so it didn't even occur to me.

Thanks to an anonymous tip, I made a case search and found the following cases prior to her disappearance:

Jeanette Allen:
HINDERING/OBSTRUCTING
CDS-UNLAWFUL MFGR ETC
CDS-UNLAWFUL POSSESSION ETC

http://casesearch.courts.state.md.u...is?caseId=00004354A0&loc=27&detailLoc=ODYCRIM
FORGERY-PRIV DOCUMENTS
http://casesearch.courts.state.md.u...is?caseId=00601102O5&loc=16&detailLoc=ODYCRIM

There are some more misdemeanor charges for Jeannie.

John Peter Allen:
CDS-UNLAWFUL MFGR ETC
CDS-UNLAWFUL POSSESSION ETC

http://casesearch.courts.state.md.u...is?caseId=00000104O6&loc=16&detailLoc=ODYCRIM
BATTERY
Complainant: ALLEN, JEANETTE F

http://casesearch.courts.state.md.u...is?caseId=00600444O5&loc=16&detailLoc=ODYCRIM

I think the CDS charge against both of them is interesting. Jeannie’s was dismissed. John’s stops at bail and appears to never be processed further.

And then there‘s the battery charges against John Paul Allen, complainant is Jeannie.

Where did the case go from there? Could she be in a witness protection program, or did she marry a second time? Or was she murdered, as it was indicated?

It was a forgery case, and John's bail was only 5000 dollars, does not seem like a very serious case, and from his records, except for one case of domestic violence against Jeannie, his offense mainly were forging check, unlawful procession, shoplifting etc. nothing violent, I do not think Fed would offer any kind of witness protection program in this kind of case
It was obvious this John Allen was a bad influence, Jennie did not have any criminal records before 1985, I would guess she met John some time in 1984, she divorced her first husband Yang and married John (her last name was Allen in that battery case in September 1984), after that she was mixed with wrong crowd

Wouldn‘t „CDS-UNLAWFUL MFGR“ (CJIS code 2-3550) constitute a serious felony in Maryland? According to this table, it is a felony category IV:

Strange they have a „last seen“ date of February 1986 while in news reports and Sheriff‘s blog it says April 1986.

Maybe a typo? Or perhaps they have more info? IDK.

It's interesting Websleuths is one of the sources listed. Wish we could dig up some old newspaper articles.
It seems like the locals knew about Jeanette being missing but I can't find any online news archives with more info.
There must be something published in a small town paper somewhere. JMO.

Jeannie Allen Ratino went to Northern High School in Calvert County, MD, and yes, that is a yearbook photo. I did not know that she was married to a Mr. Yang. I know she was married to a young man with the last name of Allen who also went to Northern High School. I think his name was John, but I am not certain.

I knew them both. I am local to them.

His name is John Peter Allen, who had a criminal records include a domestic battery toward Jeannie, about the supposedly marriage was from a marriage license found: https://www.ancestry.com/interactive...&usePUBJs=true a Jeannie Florence Ratino married a Korean man with the last name Yang on 9 Aug 1983 in Arlington, VA, her father's name (Joseph Ratino) is listed on the record and she gives a current address in North Beach, MD which is located in Calvert County. Jeanette lists her place of birth as Washington DC and her date of birth as June 7, 1965.
