Hopefully there is a break in the case someday, as perhaps old suspects and evidence get reexamined. Lots of cold cases are being reinvestigated these days, I've noticed. The parents have suffered for too long. She was just shy of 22 when she went missing.

I wonder if Lloyd Lee Welch. Jr. Might have had some involvement in Leann's disappearance.

It is said that LeAnn had a tattoo which read "Mike" . That was an alias that Lloyd went by. His home, as well as homes of his relatives, was Hyattsville, Maryland.

I have submitted this as a tip before but as their family knows nothing of it I’ll leave this here…

They need to retest someone. Because it’s highly unlikely someone would have the tattoo mike in the exact spot with close features and not be her… that’s what I love about tattoos…

I don't know about that. Mike is a very common name in the US and that's a popular location for a tattoo. No other matching tattoos. Don't think it's a match.

LE has to have more than we see in this thread/online. For example, it seems sort of weird to show up at the aunt/uncle of your boyfriend with another dude and ask for money.

  • Did she or her male accomplice give a reason or reasons for needing this money?
  • Was this normal behavior for her?
  • Any more background on the victim herself?

When an obvious lack of detail is given, in my mind either the family doesn’t want to share more or (less likely) LE doesn’t. With the family, there could be a negative or ambivalent sentiment towards the victim or (as I suspect in his case) there’s unsavory details they’d rather just omit.

But this reluctance makes it darn near impossible to try and move these cases along. Obviously this might matter less on a 40 year old case, but still.
