We are actively searching for this pictured 3-month-old baby, Ludwig Umanzor-Luna. His mother is reporting she gave the infant to an unidentified female on Monday (9/30) but cannot recall who the woman is or where she left the child. Possibly in the Riverdale area. This is the baby’s mother. We are releasing her picture in hopes that it helps in the search for her son. Something is very off here... I really hope that Ludwig is safe somewhere. Why would you give your infant son to an unknown woman and how do you not remember the location?

In the majority of cases I've followed here it's usually a bad sign when a caregiver claims to have given their child to someone and can't remember who it was.

At best we can hope she's telling the truth and the unidentified woman comes forward. Or that she's hiding the baby from CPS. But most of the time that's not how it turns out. Hoping for the best for baby Ludwig.

Police say the baby may possibly be in the Riverdale area.

Sources tell FOX 5's Evan Lambert investigators have the mom on surveillance footage at a restaurant in Riverdale Monday.

The mom says she was with two other people at the time, but she does not remember who either person was at this time, according to sources.

At a news conference Tuesday night, Prince George’s County Police Chief Hank Stawinski said the woman taking care of the baby saw his picture in the media and called an officer to let him know where he was and that he was safe.

Baby Ludwig is being taken to a medical facility for a checkup.

Ludwig has been found and is in good health, according to police. The person who was taking care of the baby didn't realize he had been reported missing until she saw his photo on the news and called police.

Prince George's County Police Chief Hank Stawinski said a woman who was taking care of the baby called police when she saw the boy's photo on the news and he is safe.

Medics will give Ludwig check-up to make sure he is okay, Stawinski said.

Authorities have contacted child protective services.
