Found Deceased MD - Malachi Lawson, 4, *autistic*, Baltimore, 1 August 2019 *Arrests*

So of course, this begs the question, why was he in foster care? Obviously, something bad enough had happened to him (broken femur?) to have CPS take him away. Another child returned to parents who had no business touching a child, much less raising one <<insert steaming hot angry face>>.

My thoughts exactly. Does it just take a smile and a wink to get your child back from foster care??
Oh, we have seen this too damm much. I know that there is a lack of foster homes in many areas -- and probably not enuff money is paid to the foster parents, etc., but there is just too, too much of this type thing.
And certainly some parents are earnest in wanting to do a better job of caring for their children and they do. Those are the cases that don't get in the papers and on the news. The ones we see are the ones where it is almost always too late.

You do know the child has been found deceased? Sadly
Yes, thanks -- I jumped into this one a bit late, so my responses went to "the back of the line," of course.
Bless his little heart -- but he is not hurting any more.

I just don't understand, I don't understand, I don't understand.

Nope, I don’t understand either. Such a sweet little boy

As we've all agreed before -- how many couples, or singles, would line up to adopt this little boy? And who could say would be happier -- Malachi or his new parent(s)!

A funeral is planned for a 4-year-old Baltimore boy whose mother and her wife were charged in his death after his body was recovered from a trash bin.

One of Malachi Lawson’s relatives told The Sun that Tuesday’s funeral service is open to the public.

What a beautiful idea making Malachi a super hero on the programs. If only a super hero could have saved him from these horrors.
I have a feeling Malachi's grandmother was supposed to have legal guardianship of him but passed him back to the 2 women when social services were out of the way.
would that leave the grandmother open to charges , especially with the initial report saying Malachi went missing from grandmothers porch.

Paw Patrol is my grandson's favorite too. <tears>

I wonder if Malachi's femur fracture as an infant was a spiral fracture, often caused by rough handling during diaper changes. Just speculating...

Evil, evil people. Another baby thrown away like trash.

Those people wouldn't handle a carton of eggs as roughly as they seem to handle these precious and irreplaceable babies and toddlers.
They are in a place that I just cannot understand, I am thankful to say.

Just heard on the news ( WJZ) that the trial is starting tomorrow. Such a sad case.

Ugh I’m not sure how I never saw this one but I’m so sick to my stomach!! That lil guy was such a cutie...
As a gay female that wants to foster this story hurts my heart, like every day that I waste working on myself is selfish... that little boy looks so full of love and I wish he could have had someone nurturing there to care for him :(

From November 18 2019:

[not including graphic info]

But police tested the water temperature at the Lawsons’ home in the 1800 block of North Spring Street Saturday and the temperature never got above lukewarm.

[...]

But on the morning of Aug, 1, Alicia woke up and found Malachi laying a “puddle of wetness.” She thought he was dead as he was unresponsive, according to charging documents, so she wrapped her son up into a blanket and called a Lyft.

The Lyft took her 10 miles from their home to the 5500 block of Haddon Avenue where she put Malachi’s body into a black trash bag, tied it closed and then put her son’s body into the dumpster.

The FBI looked at Alicia’s cell phone browsing history and found searches for trash collection sites.

Police responded to the 5500 block of Haddon Avenue and found Malachi’s deceased inside a trash bag.

Alicia (L) & Shatika (R) Lawson were just in court where a judge set a date for a status hearing in March so the state can present their expert for trial. The Lawsons face 11 charges in connection to the death of 4 y/o Malachi Lawson who was found dead in a dumpster in August.

“My son walks with me forever” was written across the top back of Shatika’s jumpsuit. In front of the phrase, a crying face was drawn and after it was a picture of a broken heart. @WMAR2News
