His Facebook page:
His last post was Feb. 17, 2023. Pic of a meetup with four friends he's known for more than 40 years. Looks like disappearing would be totally out of character for Neil.

I hope LE has some leads.

There isn't much information out there on this one. It says he's missing from Twinbrook Parkway...I wonder if that means he's missing along with his car?

Yes. It's odd to find so few clues: cell phone activity? car missing?

Was the last sighting with his longtime friends at the restaurant or from home? That was a Friday if the last Facebook post happened near that event. Was he off work that day?

Has he ever disappeared before?

Not finding much info about any search for him, including no recent appeals from family or friends via MSM or SM seems unusual.

Three weeks have passed. A fresh appeal with more details or update by LE would be helpful.

ETA: The news release in the 1st post is dated 5 days after his last contact. Surely he was missed at work before Thursday of the following week?

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County Police detectives are asking anyone who visited Great Falls Park in Potomac, Maryland, on Feb. 17, to share any photos or video footage they may have taken during their visit in an effort to find a man missing for a month.

The photos and video footage would help MCDP's investigation into the disappearance of 56-year-old Neil Bernstein of Rockville, who has been missing since Feb. 17, according to a police news release. Police and Bernstein's family are concerned for his welfare.

Bernstein was last seen around Feb. 17 in the area of Great Falls Park, off Macarthur Boulevard in Potomac, Maryland, according to a release. He was originally reported missing from Twinbrook Parkway in Rockville.

Police described him as standing 5-foot-9 and weighing 150 pounds, with green eyes and short gray and brown hair.

Detectives are asking anyone who visited the Maryland side of Great Falls Park on Feb. 17 and took photos or videos of their time spent at the park to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-455-TIPS (8477).

I was curious about his current job on LinkedIn:
Director Of Communications, Douglass County, Maryland · Full-time · Dec 2017 - Present · 5 yrs 4 mos

The thing is, there is no Douglass County in the state. It turns out this is a non-profit that wants to incorporate Washington, D.C. into Maryland. They have a somewhat active Facebook page and Twitter presence, but their website at www.douglasscountymd.org is apparently defunct.

It's also interesting to note that Bernstein's previous listed job was from Sep 1999 - Jan 2001. There's nothing on LinkedIn between 2001 and 2017.

I have no idea what any of this means and whether it has any relevance to NB's disappearance. However I did think it was kind of unusual.

That gap in employment seemed unusual to me, too. You rarely see that in a resume or on Linkedin. He has an up-to-date Facebook page with the last post on the day he disappeared.

Now that LE says he was seen at a park with a lot of difficult terrain, I fear he had an accident there & just hasn't been found yet. I hope I am wrong!

His family spoke to 7News and said they are "very concerned" and are "praying for a miracle."

They said Neil went to Great Falls to commemorate a friend that recently passed. He was supposed to fly to Florida two days later.

Have LE and/or SAR searched the park? I think he left his car at home. If so, how did he get to the park? What kind of "commemoration" was he planning? A specific activity?

A month later & no search parties? NB seems to have a lot of concerned friends but not much to see on Facebook or in the media about ACTION in the face of that concern.

Not being critical, I just find it puzzling. If he assumed to still be in the park, critical life-saving time is passing or has already passed.

Neil is a former HS classmates of mine. His car was found at Great Falls MD. He was not working at this time, his FB job was a jest.
A body was found yesterday on the rivers edge near Old Anglers Inn, not far down river from where he was last seen. No identification confirmed.

Neil had not worked for a while. He had personal medical issues. He was still active & social.
