Holy Cow.
Mayor just mentioned Al Sharpton welcomed to induce peace.
Tell me I heard that incorrectly.
ITA but she knows what she's doing you giving space and allThe mayor doesn't have a curfew **tonight** for adults to be off the streets at 10pm. It starts tomorrow night!!! What a mistake, IMO.
Terrible sign of our civilization......
Then how about "rioters" "miscreants" or "criminals"? The reason that other word is not allowed is because it is typically used to define criminals of a certain skin tone.
We have plenty of words to describe the actions here. We needn't use race-specific ones. Yes, I know the word was not originally used as such but contemporary usage is, indeed racist and I applaud WS for disallowing it.

In a politically incorrect world, the word t.h.u.g might be interpreted to refer to a person of a particular "skin tone".
I strongly disagree.
IMO, a t.h.u.g. is anyone who engages in criminal activity, regardless of ethnicity. I don't believe it needs to be a censored word.
The Mayor of Baltimore (who is an AA female) used the term several times tonight in her press conference. I seriously doubt she would have used the term if it inferred a racial slur.

Hogan says POTUS told him, "I'm sure you will be acting with some restraint" but he "totally endorsed what we're doing." @nbcwashington
