First let me pick my jaw up off the floor some of this 'circle' went fishing the day PB disappeared? Was winter or ice fishing a regular hobby of theirs or is this something they just coincidently had planned or decided to do at the spur of the moment that day?

Thank you for confirming MJ's comments on the scrubbed Find PB page was the only source C was at the apartment that day having found the door unlocked/open and music blaring. There was something hinky about that story from the get go, including MJ's comment (iirc) he arrived at the apt at 4:50 or 5:10 but somehow C was there at the time.... MJ's story regarding the time he saw PB 'sleeping' on the couch and the rest of the days events never added up imo.

And yes, Train is boarding and leaving the station soon. tick tock tick tock...

The references to fishing, and someone falling out of a boat could have been references to using drugs, too. But one of the family members did like nature and fishing. Unfortunately, going off of comments people make, that are full of double-speak, makes it hard. I will go back through my stuff and see if I can get clarity on it.
I posted about this before, probably way back on thread 1, when LE searched the area the first time. We debated about ice fishing, and where people could go fishing that time of year...

I was being somewhat facetious.... now that you mention it I do vaguelly recall discussion on fishing way back in the earliest threads. Fishing and falling out of a boat could likely mean a number of things.... fishing for a girl and falling out of the boat because she turned him down? making a run for illegal substances and coming up empty?... It may also be regional terminology and may or may not be related to PB's case. Definately something to keep in mind though.... Especially as the pieces of the puzzle fall together.

From the posting that Lil'B put on PB's myspace back in Dec of 2009, he was mentioning that it would be a good thing for her to go to school there in BMore because it appeared that her mother was too strick and she wanted to get away.

It also appeared that they had become friends, and I believe that at some point in time of PB visiting Bmore in the past years, they had traveled into the arena of more than friends.

This is what I have, for what it's worth:
The Washington Post article is the first MSM source to reveal the 16 yr old brother and 21 yr old cousin were at the apartment the night of the 27th.
The Washington Post article also stated that MJ picked up the little brother in the morning.
Nothing has been said about the cousin, as far as when he left the apartment, IF he left the apartment, etc.
MJ stated (Find PB, now scrubbed) he picked his little brother up that morning and took him to another family member's house (my guess is the 30 yr. old brother, or the mom/aunt of one of the J brothers.).
Based on social networking, I thought the cousin was at work by 9. No proof, however.
Some of the brothers/cousins went fishing that day, which is one of the reasons I think LE is searching an area that requires department of natural resources police... If it is the place I think they are searching, there's fishing available there.
Yeah, if you are connected to Phyliica's disappearance, it would be a good idea to come forward now. Once this train leaves the station, there is no getting on board. either you want to help, or you want to hide. No sitting on the fence.

Added--And to clarify, I don't know that any interaction beyond comfort and kindness had to occur between DB and cousin to raise jealousy in a male like MJ. He liked to have his cake and eat it to. He was blatantly open about his other girl friend on social networking, as was the rest of his family. I got the feeling that some family members felt bad for DB, and may have been protective of her. That alone might be enough to set MJ off. The cousin has a streak of kindness in him, and he clearly cared for DB, from what I've seen. The other cousin (brother of the one who lived in the apartment, gee I wish we could use acronyms for them) is the only family member to consistently post kind thoughts about PB, which is significant, in my opinion.

BBM

I'll be honest. I cringed when I saw this initially, because LE has given the location to media, but has been adamant that the specific location not be disclosed to the public.

Buuuuuut

Let's say that someone/people reading your post has a "lightbulb" moment and decides to try to beat LE to the punch in order to move PB, if she's there.

**LOSING!!**

They'd virtually hand deliver themselves to LE.
So, great job!

Interesting theory and certainly one for discussion. Myself, I have not gotten any vibes that DB was the cheating type. She strikes as the more family oriented of she and KB. She was the one who externally appears to have embraced and welcomed being reunited with PB, having paid for her airfare this most recent trip.

What I have wondered about is MJ's cheating style. Was he a chronic cheating type that some woman would accept and look the other way or did he attempt to hide any infidelity? How did MJ react in the past if he had been busted cheating? Were there numerous incidents over the years the final straw for this relationship was infidelity? OF course there are other questions surrounding what might of made MJ volatile that morning? Especially knowing he caught PB 'snooping' his FB page.

Why wasn't it clear from the get go there were two males aside from MJ who were alone with PB the day she disappeared? Has it been confirmed LB (little brother) was in fact picked up at 9am and driven to another relatives property? If so, why was C (cousin) left alone with PB? Was C still crashed out from partying the prior evening or was C deliberately left alone with PB while MJ and B left the apartment for a period of time? If so, did MJ walk into a situation he was not expecting and is covering for C or C & LB?

PB being left alone with at least 3 males that day (from what we've heard some confirmed, some may still be rumor - I forget the source for info on both LB and C being there in the am of the 28th) is a great cause of concern.

As an aside, I'm going to chalk up this possibility of C living at the apartment and JS not being informed of such as another one of the poor choices made which unfortunately left PB in the situation she found herself.

I'm also interested in why PB chose Towsen Univ. Some insight to the decisions leading to this choice might open up avenues of research and discussion or confirm things we already suspected...

jmo...

In terms of how db strikes me, I'll reserve my opinion for just a bit more.

I will say that I believe that db knew EXACTLY what she was dealing with in terms of seeing mj and leave it at that, for now.

Goodness, I also do not understand why it took soooo long for the public to be informed about the older cousin living there at the apartment.

The secrecy involved with this case is very concerning. Why was there the need to be opaque when a child's missing?

Regarding PB attending college, I've seen on record that JS was not going to allow PB to attend college out of state so soon.
JS said that PB did not know that yet.

Here's the source, a blog with excerpts from JS's AJC interview:

Actual AJC article:

So, for all of PB's contemplating schools and the numerous offers, for whatever reason, JS did not want PB to attend college
out of state just yet. "I didn’t think she was ready to leave the state on her own,” Sallis told the AJC.

It looks like all MSM is now stating hundreds of officers searching and approximately 200 civilian volunteers canvasing the area.

  • #428
It is my hope that some of the searching tomorrow, if not the publicized one, is based on some cell phone activity. I think in a case like this, cell pings would be something the perps might not think about until it is too late. At least one, if not more of this group would have had their phone on, let's hope it was one who "accompanied" Phylicia to whatever location she is waiting to be found.

I had to wonder why LE said "We've searched there before." They made a HUGE point about the media not releasing the location, but then he kind of gives a big hint as to where it might be. I figure he must have had his reasons. This is not a random search, and his words in the presser were carefully chosen, I thought. Gotta wonder, though.

From BPD twitter feed:

Volunteers who are assisting with Phylicia Barnes canvassing effort should report to Reisterstown Rd / Patterson Ave tomorrow at 8am.

As I listened to the Rundown radio show it reminded me that when PB left the apt. she took with her, her handbag. This tells me that she most likely left willingly like I thought and said in an earlier post. Plus if you listen to what they said she was last seen wearing it appears to describe someone that was going out for a quick run most likely for food and coming back knowing that she had to meet her sister soon.

If she would have been taken out of the apt. unconscious or forced then she would not have taken her handbag nor put on her coat?

Does anyone know around where this is? There really has to be a reason they are not saying where they intend to search yet saying they have searched there before. Do they believe she has been moved? Or has someone talked?

I disagree and I agree.

I believe that a male would think (After the fact) to take a womans purse from the scene or wherever to stage it. But with what she was wearing (slippers?), she wouldn't be going out to walk anywhere on her own. It was very cold and even icy on the east coast then.

On the flip side - she could have thought someone was driving her to get food, she might have thought they were running through a drive thru and she would not be walking anywhere but to the parking lot. That could be why her scent stopped there. Or maybe the dogs were not the correct type or there was another reason. Also could be why she left her bankcard - this individual said they would take her to lunch and pay for her.

I can see both sides and am hoping they find her tomorrow. She and her mother and family and friends who loved her deserve it.

Yeah, that's a good point of view. Could it be that when PB was forced to leave the apt, she was forced to take limited items? It might have been better for the culprits to make certain PB took her credit card because a stranger abduction will make certain any type and all types of money will come along; plastic is welcomed.

This crew is intelligent to know that they will be known to be affiliated with PB and absolutely wouldn't want to leave behind a paper trace. Just before PB's disappearance, it was plastered all over the media how unprofessional the crime was with Debbie Narvaez. R.I.P. Debbie Narvaez. We love you. She spent time in Bmore as well.

I really can't say for a fact what PB had on if no one seen her that day. Have the criminals told the complete truth as of yet? As far as I know, the culprits could have packed away what PB laid out and made her throw on anything! as far as we know.

Did anyone hear that PB phone did leave the apt but the battery went dead or something?

PB's purse missing doesn't necessarily mean she removed the purse. If someone took her out of the apartment impaired in any way they could have taken her purse. As well as make it appear she left willingly and expected to return shortly.

There are two searches going on. The canvassing effort is civilian volunteers, who will be putting up flyers and talking to people in the area of the apartment complex. The LE search effort is taking place in an undisclosed wooded area somewhere withing the greater B'more metropolis.
From the presser, AG said that they had been waiting for the weather to clear the land, but before the leaves all came on, so they could search the area in depth. Also said that the location was revealed in one of the interviews with the 30 POI's who had contact with Phylicia while she was in B'more (I dropped my jaw when I heard him say that. It was the first time LE admitted that she had contact with 30 POI's. They've always emphasized that they "narrowed the list down to 12".). It is an area that one of the POI's frequents.
Hope that helps.

Poor Phylicia...she should never have been exposed to 30 people at all...or even 3. It was supposed to be a weekend with her sisters...

That does help. I got confused with the 200 volunteers/200 LE media reports.

30 POIs, wow. I believe they know a lot more than they are letting on. I hope that's true. (Not that 30 POIs, I mean hopefully they know more and have a poker face now)
