We tried to add the timeline to the first page or two of each thread so they would be easy to go back and find if anyone wished to.

IIRC MJ did work nights and was reported to have arrived at the apartment the morning Phylicia disappeared and after her half sister left for work in the morning. (all from the find pb facebook group since removed).

I worked the night shift for a year or two. I honestly don't see how he could have the time/energy to party in the evenings, go to work, function all morning/afternoon, and then sleep in little sporadic bits. Well, that is, unless some kind of amphetamine/cocaine/crack was involved.

I hope they arrest these 🤬🤬🤬 perps very soon.

ETA: I am sitting on my hands, watching what I say and being nice to avoid a TO. If MJ was sitting in front of me right now, I would <modsnip> him up. I don't know how Phylicia's mom maintains such composure and grace. Bless Phylicia's TRUE family.

One report (CBS) says that the search warrants were applied for in May. Another report says the FBI are currently seeking search warrants. How long does it take for this sort of thing to go through? Or is it likely that they already issued the search warrants and have investigated the accounts? I'm not too familiar with procedure.

i believe the facebook activity will show the motive. MJ is my #1 suspect. he had means, motive and opportunity. i believe he strangled her in the apt, carried her out in luggage or a box, along with the stuff he was 'moving' out of the apt. told friends he was going fishing, drove her body up to the river and dumped her in. jmo

Phylicia Simone Barnes had a life to live, a good future awaiting her. Let's all pray for justice for Phylicia and healing for her family and many, many friends. She will always be missed...............

This is the first time I've read about the Phylicia Barnes investigation on WS, and the first I've read about the possibility of a child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 ring being involved. Before I started reading on WS, I'd been doing Google searches to find articles tracing the progress of the case. The last I read was about the possible connection to drugs - and suspicions surrounding MJ being at the apartment that day. Then, it seemed like the investigation hit a dead end. It's so encouraging to read here that the investigation is still very active. Now I feel confident that there will be justice for Phylicia.

Should her killer(s) eventually be brought to justice, it will never be fair that such a beautiful, intelligent and personable young lady has been taken from among us.

I saw this video posted on the FB prayer page for Phylicia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMP5JrdAYqs

Although I applaud any effort to spotlight and protect our missing and exploited children, I must say that I'm feeling some kind of way about this film featuring Phylicia's case.

I hope that JS was consulted with on this. I'd hate to think that profiteering is afoot. JMO

Justice for Phylicia!

I hear ya Falconi. I can't hear the video, but I do recall Don being quoted in the media that he was profoundly affected by Phylicia's disappearance when he first offered his services to her family pro bono. I don't recall exactly what was stated in those earlier MSM articles during the months people were still searching for Phylicia. However, I wonder if he is using this opportunity not to profit but to further get involved in missing persons cases, particularly in the african american community who so often get little if any media attention. Youtube like Facebook is another social media outlet to get the word out. It may be like a NFP a good portion of any profits he makes will go towards those who are AA and missing.

OH heck. (hope I can say that and not go in timeout). The video was removed and I missed it. So many people go missing all over the US and some are totally ignored. Even by parents when they assume the teen ran away. Just look at the DOE's. It breaks my heart. I don't understand how some people get press and others can't. If I had the money I'd have my own channel dedicated to missing persons and unsolved crimes. IF........

I'm just praying they will find and convict the person(s) responsible for Phylicia's murder. I feel so bad for her family and friends. I can't imagine what her mother is going through. My prayers are with them all.

I dropped by to get an update on this case. I wasn't able to find much online, other than what is posted here.

I live in NC and this case holds a special place in my heart, as I have family members near Phylicia's age when she was murdered.

Has anyone heard any updates?

I tried to read as much of this thread as possible to bring myself up to date, but I didn't catch why the FBI thinks that the other body that was discovered in the river at the same time Phylicia's was discovered is not related to her. Have they solved that man's death? Just curious as to how they know they are unrelated if they don't know what happened to either of the victims.

Baltimore, Md. - Tuesday, authorities announced that the man’s body found near that of missing teen Phylicia Barnes in the Susquehanna River has been identified.

Darryl Harper, 53, was found about three miles up river from where Phylicia’s body was discovered on April 20.

Police believe that Harper has no connection to Phylicia’s death. He was identified after his fingerprints were entered in a missing persons database.

Harper’s wife also told investigators that a relative in the Harrisburg, Pa. area had called to tell her Darryl Harper had checked himself into a hospital in East Penn, Pa., on the Susquehanna River, on March 25. He wanted help with mental health issues, the relative said.

Investigators said Harper stayed in that hospital one night.

His wife told investigators that he told a relative in March he was going to jump off a bridge. She also said her husband had attempted suicide in 2006.

Investigators have not found anything that connects Harper to Barnes, but said they are continuing to review information.

I didn't find the article but Harper's death was ruled a suicide.

I know what you mean. This is just so heartbreaking. I pray for her mother, father, family, and friends. Keep hoping that someone will come forward with the truth.

None of us want this to be an unsolved case.

Phylicia, Rest in Peace.

Police memo: Baltimore prosecutors are stalling cases

Homicide detectives want the go-ahead to arrest murder suspects

The family of Phylicia Barnes, the missing North Carolina teenager whose disappearance made national news, started a petition last week demanding to know why police had not made an arrest in her killing. More than 700 people have signed the online petition.

That's right! Stand around and point fingers instead of moving forward. Does anyone know where the online petition is? I'd like to add my name.

If they keep this up the perps will disappear before they make an arrest! these victims deserve better than this!
