spokesman, Anthony Guglielmi, characterized the complaints about prosecutors as the "personal opinion of some investigators" who he said have a "very narrow view" of the process.

Whatever it is, it spells trouble. Either they have enough evidence to bring a defendent to trial or they don't. The last thing I would ever want to see for any victim is a weak case allowing the guilty party to go free.

The article doesn't outline which 5 cases have multiple witnesses, and rightfully so, but it sounds like ego's need to be put aside and victims need to be put first in B'mor.

That's right! Stand around and point fingers instead of moving forward. Does anyone know where the online petition is? I'd like to add my name.

If they keep this up the perps will disappear before they make an arrest! these victims deserve better than this!

Here's the petition.

You do not need to be from Baltimore, or even Maryland to sign it. If you check the map, you can see that more people have signed it from the west coast than the east coast. It's nearly 800, but could be thousands, so please pass it on!

I just signed. It's about time justice takes a step forward instead of letting perps go free to continue their crimes against young women.

Sister of slain teen sought restraining order against last person to see her alive

UNION COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Six weeks before investigators pulled the body of Union County teenager Phylicia Barnes from a Maryland river, Barnes' sister applied for a restraining order against the man who was reportedly the last person to see the teen alive.

According to Baltimore District Court records, Deena Barnes, Phylicia's half-sister, applied for the order against her former boyfriend Michael Johnson.

She tried to obtain the restraining order because she felt Johnson had been harassing her after the couple's break-up, her father Russell told WBTV.com.

The pair had been in the midst of the ending their ten year relationship in the last week of December 2010. At the time, Johnson was in the process of moving out of the couple's northwest Baltimore apartment.

Phylicia Barnes, 16, who was staying with her half-sister at that apartment for Christmas, disappeared December 28.

From the above article:

On March 7, Maryland District Court Judge Shannon Avery denied the request for the restraining order saying there was "no threat and no actual harassment," court records show.

I don't know what to make of this attempt for a restraining order. Those of us who have followed this case from the start know MJ had another girlfriend and had lawyered up almost immediately after Phylicia disappeared.

The judge ruled there was no evidence of 'harassment'. Was this attempt at a restraining order real, some kind of strategy for PB's case or just evidence of an ugly break up leaking out in order to keep Phylicia's case in the media?

It's hard for me to believe MJ would have been harassing DB while under the microscope for PB's disappearance, but of course I could be wrong. He's a pretty brazen person juggling his women and with some of what he posted early on at the pray for PB FB page (since removed).

It still to this day infuriates me DB brought her baby half sister into such a volatile environment during her break up - when she had no business doing so and it cost Phylicia her life.

Also in the above article, the warrants for the social networking pages are again resealed.

I have to wonder if MJ doesn't have some leverage in high places - either on the Baltimore police force, or even higher up than that. I'm with Cubby in feeling so angry that an innocent young lady was brought thoughtlessly into such an unsafe environment. I can't imagine how betrayed the remainder of the family feels knowing they were not informed of the situation PB would be entering.

Pictures of Phylicia remind me of a HS friend from long, long ago - a reminder to me that Phylicia was someone's daughter, someone's sister, someone's friend. Her senseless death has hurt many, many people across the nation.

I can relate. She looks remarkably like one of my roommates in grad school... I think that's one reason this case stuck with me from Day One.

I am stuck on this case and it reminds me of Lauren Spierer in some ways, as the group of POI's seem to be comprised of people who should have been in a mode to care for the victim, instead of causing her harm or at the very least (in Lauren's case) discarding her...also that with both groups, they have managed to elude arrest on any sort of charges to help police either solve the crime or be able to eliminate them as potential suspects.

I signed the petition and urge everyone else to do the same!

Praying for Phylicia's family and friends

Looks like Michael is feeling squeezed. According to the vid, he's been interviewed 8x by the cops so far. His attorney speaks to reporter, denies Michael murdered Phylicia.

Michael should be the first to go ahead and take a lie detector test. Since his attorney thinks that Michael had nothing to do with the murder then he should order a lie detector test for him. What does the attorney feel Michael has to hide if he doesn't take the test?

Exactly!

Has Michael Johnson taken a polygraph? Is he willing to do so, or has he refused?
An innocent person does not refuse to take a polygraph.

Hopefully we'll be seeing some additional MSM very shortly that Mr. Neverdon has arranged for his client to take a poly issued by the MD state police. IOW, put your money where your mouth is MJ. IF he and his attorney feel he is being wrongly accused take the poly so LE can focus elsewhere.

Now that Mr. Neverdon has publicly named his client as being the primary focus of MD investigators, I think that means MJ is wide open for sleuthing.

From the day Barnes, 16, disappeared, Neverdon claims, police have been focused solely on his client. "This is a situation where they believe this was an open and shut, slam dunk case; it had to be the obvious and that's where they based and bent all of their efforts and energy."

From the above link pp.

"They thought she met up with a friend and was probably hanging out for a day or two and just would show up, that's what he had believed," Neverdon said by phone from Baltimore.

Phylicia didn't know anyone in Baltimore other than the people her sisters and MJ and the crowd they hung around with. Are we really to believe something as ludicrous as the above comment? Maybe her 16 year old friends from North Carolina just happened to have their own vehicles and drive up to B'more to 'hang out for a day or two'. GMAB.

Has MJ accounted for his time the afternoon Phylicia went missing and has he provided his whereabouts to LE? Have his whereabouts been verified?

so many questions.....

Wish I could get the sister's BF's picture out here. He is a POI now and everyone needs to know who he is. (Am I allowed to say that and are we allowed to do that)?

Unfortunately, I can't do picutures.

If you are referring to MJ, DB's EX. We can post his picture now. Here you go:

Police, Neverdon said, were still focused on his client. The last conversation Johnson had with detectives left him feeling like he was and still is their only focus.

http://www.wbtv.com/story/15412910/sisters-ex-boyfriend-une

The last conversation MJ had with LE? This leads me to believe he quit cooperating with LE a long time ago.

Again, a polygraph could clear this all up for MJ- IF he has no involvement.

Do we know what type of vehicle MJ drives? Or what vehicle he was known to be driving the day of PB's disappearance? Perhaps if we can find out, we can post pictures of simliar type vehicles which might cause someone to recall something that looked unusual or out of place the day Phylicia disappeared.

Maybe someone saw something unusual or out of place, but didn't tie it to PB's disappearance not knowing one of the poi's was driving that type of vehicle that day.
