Sure isn't making sense based on what we see on camera, that's for sure.
The visuals do not make much sense.

To me he didn't look to have an ounce of fat on him. A gym rat, I think very possible. I also agree with @otto and @PommyMommy that it is very possible he first saw RM at the gym, maybe even that very day. Possible it could have been the tanning salon too. IIRC I think she went to both that day and if it was her routine to do so, he could have been watching her for awhile.I agree we all see things differently, and I initially saw this on my phone. After watching on full size monitor, I can see the definition you talk about as he walks away. That's not terribly evident on a phone for my old lady eyes. So, I'd say he's fit but not buff? Not to split hairs, but yes I see some muscle definition, though not enough to indicate he's a gym rat IMO.
Three distinctive physical characteristics noted, his back and spine, bowed legs along with his ear. I think he's going to be recognized, especially if his hair is the same. I'm hopeful for both girls and his possible other victims! The connection made the Los Angeles Times:

I agree with you about the gym. He may have a have a job that involves physical labor, or perhaps just is lucky to be young, and be blessed with good genes. And as for old lady eyes, I definitely understand, because I have the old man version.

I only saw two burglaries for the date mentioned in the article in the 77th district, but perhaps you may see something I didn't. Not sure if those two areas have their own local news sources. See: CrimeMapping.com - Helping You Build a Safer CommunityWell I looked in the LAPD FB and there was no mention of the home invasion... I was wondering if they released the video previously or not. Are there hyper local news publications in LA for neighborhoods like you mentioned?
I'm going to assume this would be the FB page for the "77th division" LAPD the 26th March 2023 'home invasion' occurred ... LAPD 77th Street Community Police Station
Was there a time/date stamp on video?
Question Can LE access those ring cameras?
LE said they received over 150 tips after they published the video Thursday night. Let's hope one of them pans out quickly. For all we know, they may even have someone under surveillance by now.To me he didn't look to have an ounce of fat on him. A gym rat, I think very possible. That’s an interesting idea on potential gang activity and a connection, for sure.I only saw two burglaries for the date mentioned in the article in the 77th district, but perhaps you may see something I didn't. I was curious about the general location of the crime in LA because the 77th appears to have a significant amount of gang activity, and I wondered if there were any particular gangs active in the area of the LA crime, that were also active in Maryland. "young girl"Wait, who said the victim was a “child”?
I agree, more like 185lbs. IMOI also think he looks to be heavier than 160. He has muscle definition that would add to his weight.
Our local PD does this - it's calledI don't know in this case. But I do know some communities and LE are working together to create easier access.
For example, I read about this during the mass shooting in Atlanta in May. Residents can register their security cameras with LE so LE will know to contact them if needed, and businesses/apartments/corporations can provide direct access so LE has a feed during times of emergency.

If they have his DNA they can find his family.
Just my two cents worth here but I think the interest in the crime that took place in LA and that it seems to be a total new mode of operation, that people are trying to examine the older mode of operation in case there are many other crimes between his time in LA to his time in Maryland. JMO but that is what crime sleuths do.As SteveP said, I'm sure Harford has communicated with the LA PD over this in great detail.
I'm not sure Harford Co PD would write off a vehicle, if one was spotted in the CA incident.
What I can't get my head around on this forum is why some are focused on what took place inside that house in LA - whether he knew the young girl, was invited in, if others were there, why he seemed to leave with a quick wave goodbye, etc. I mean, it's intriguing, but our focus is Rachel, and it's not like the specifics of his California crime would lead us to being able to identify him more quickly if we knew exactly why he was in the house in LA. Whether there was an SA in California or not, I'm not picking up on any "pattern" that would lead to an identity. Young girl in a house, home invasion, vs Rachel on a walking/jogging trail, an almost 40 YO adult, etc. If anyone can help me understand why some are focused on those details, do fill me in.
